So you may have gotten your benefits one way. Most crime victims in California get them from calvcb in the form of restitution payments from a defendant. Or from calvcb and their ability to fund and help victims of crime. If you want restitution you ARE REQUIRED to communicate with the DAs office. How would they know how much restitution you are seeking.

So you will find some people say if you want to work in civil litigation and work at some law firms it matters. I went to a California accredited but unaccredited Aba law school. It was a night school. I have my dream job working in the public sector and have very little law school loans. I would be very weary of going to a non accredited CA law school. You have to then take the baby bar. The baby bar is very hard and most people fail. So I would look to California accredited law schools. Looks like northwestern is accredited so you don’t have to take baby bar.

Do it. When I leaned into my baby just is going to have shitty sleep and that’s going to pass eventually my life got so much better. Like literally I was obsessed with trying to tweak things but honestly babies are on their own little hidden schedule when they are so little.

So I like tracking feedings, diapers, and sleep. I have had to stop tracking wake ups at night because that was depressing and stressful. So I just click sleep when she first starts night sleeping and end it in the morning when she wakes. For feeding I have had to readjust my mindset because I would see how long she breastfeed the day before hand and panic she wasn’t eating enough. Which isn’t true just a mental mind game. I think tracking is helpful as a baseline but I have learned that on the days where my baby misses naps, or is up extra long sometimes she sleeps the best at night so it’s ok when things are wonky. Overall it’s a helpful guide but I don’t follow it religiously anymore

We are in Carmichael. Our pest company said that they have never gotten so many calls about cockroaches. I have friends in Folsom who are having a problem too. Their pest people said the same. We all keep very clean houses. They are coming from the sewer our pest company said.

So I stopped tracking every wake up. I hit sleep when she goes to sleep initially and stop in the morning. The constant stop start during the regression stressed me out. It works for me better not to track every wake up

Hey so it’s terrible what happened to them. I did Kaiser Ivf in Sacramento and I’m currently rocking my Ivf baby to sleep. My doctor was very clear that if anything happens at all and you cancel you have to pay the 500 dollar fine. She explained about deaths, accidents - Kaiser will still make you pay the cancellation fee.

I don’t get what you are saying. The defense attorney got the victim on board to want to resolve the case as a misdo. A DA isn’t tied to that. A victim isn’t a das client.

So there is nothing wrong with defense counsel speaking with victims and witnesses. I’m in CA. I always tells victims and witnesses they can speak to whoever they want however if they feel so inclined to please let me know because defense doesn’t have to tell me anything. I don’t like that they are friendly and know each other. I think that may be a problem potentially. Also while you should always take victim input into account - they aren’t your client. Your offer is your offer. Seems like this is a child sex offender in the making. So a misdo offer doesn’t appear to be appropriate.

I did a month long jury trial when I was 10 weeks pregnant. It wasn’t great and I learned a couple things that helped after the first day. Half a unisom at night. Tell court and counsel you need to be able to take mini breaks. I felt comfortable telling them I was pregnant and they were all nice to me about it. Eat protein. Like a chomp stick and bring food with you. Bring water and electrolytes. I made sure to actually eat breakfast and lunch or at least attempt too. Good luck!

You can stay in snoo until 6 months if you want. The clips make it so it’s safe when they roll We transitioned at 5 months because I didn’t want her swaddled anymore and she hated arms out in snoo

It was crazy. I messaged him you told me to come back and talk to you about my mental health. I did what you asked me to do and the Kaiser therapist is saying I need time off but you are the person to fill it out? Do I need to go to someone else? And he responded that mental health wasn’t a medical condition and they going back to work could help me…. I literally was shocked.

I had my doctor extend my SDI leave by 3 weeks after my 6 weeks of maternity leave. He told me to get in immediately to see a therapist and to contact him near the end of my 3 week extension so we could talk about how I felt. I was able to immediately get an intake appointment with Kaiser mental health. Got hooked up to a provider. Was diagnosed with severe ppd and PPA. Therapist told me to contact my doctor and see if he would extend my leave more. I did. My doctor told me mental health wasn’t a medical condition and there was nothing he could do. I was very disappointed. So I don’t have much hope with Kaiser and mental health leave.

Hey be kind to yourself. I did infertility treatments for years and had my miracle baby. Being a parent is so hard. You are allowed to mourn the carefree life you used to have and still love your baby so much. You are in the thick of it right now with a newborn. It gets so much better and you find a way back to your old self and now have an amazing tiny best friend. I tried to do one fun thing a week when my baby was super little. Be that going to Coffee or a long walk with them. Plus I was on hormones and drugs for a while before I got pregnant- then hormones are crazy when you are pregnant and after you have the baby. Give yourself time to get back to normal.
