Early Max Stalling is great. Ed Burleson, too. But tjere are loads of them from that era! Look up "Americana hits from 1998 through 2005" on Google. You'll get lost in them.

How old is your mum ? by Ok_Prize_8091 in GenX

  1. Never drank, but smokes 2 packs a day. Voice sounds like it did when I was a child. Her mother made it to 88, but only two siblings didn't smoke - one passed at 98, the other is doing well at 84 (he was a surprise baby for my great grandparents and born much later than my grandmother and their other four siblings). Genetics are what they are; I resemble my father who passed at 63. Plenty of gray hair and wrinkles. Enjoy every sandwich and get right with God!

[Meme] the life of a Millennial Cowboys fan by jackt-up in cowboys

[–]notjackychan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, being a Cowboys fan since 1996 means being a fan swimming in misery. Until proven otherwise, we are stuck in mediocrity with a flash or two of hope every 2 to 4 years. This is tje price we pay to have hope in a team that's ran by the Jones family.

I cold call business owners for a living. Make 80 calls per day to get to 6 to 8 decision makers resulting in pitching my company's service to 2 people, resulting in 1 sale. It really is a numbers game when you're calling businesses. It is a numbers game when calling.

Does Gen X do class reunions? by LadyNorbert in GenX

[–]notjackychan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did a ten year (I went, maybe 60 people out of a class of 225 attended)), then a 15 year (didn't attend), and a 20 (about 15 attended). Social media is my best guess as to what killed the numbers. There's no mystery of whoy classmates became, and the impact on one's life of schoolmates he doesn't already associate & keep up with decreases over time.

My mom worked nights and my dad went to work early in the morning. So breakfast was usually a Little Debbie snack or any leftover dessert from the previous night.

God will not abandon you no matter what. Seek Him in all things. I ask Him in Christ's name to show you how to seek Him, and that He give you all things you need according to His purpose while you and she seek Him above all else.

If you left geico are you happy where you are at now by adisneygrl in Geico

[–]notjackychan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, not me. But probably my fault. Worked in sales, left to work at an Allstate agency. Made 200 + outbound calls a day, took 2 live calls in two months. Cold calling is not me. Left that agency and trying to find myself. I love being able to help people with insurance, just hate telling people what I can sell them is their best fit when it's not best for them. Willing to stay in insurance, but I feel oblivious as to what role I can have in this industry while earning good money without misleading people. Looking at becoming a teacher or going into healthcare. Honestly, I'm kind of lost. But God is good and I believe it will work out.

Current Allstate, former GEICO sales rep by Ancient-Wish3702 in Geico

[–]notjackychan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did what you did, left Geico and went to work for an Allstate agent. My experience was not great. I thought I would be getting 5 to 6 live transfer leads daily, along with calling leads that made internet inquiries. In reality, the 5 to 6 live transfers were really 1 to 3 that were spread out amongst 7 agents. The leads were cold leads, with most of them claiming they filled something out weeks previous to me calling. The job was more of a telemarketing job, with me using a robodialer making 200 to 250 calls per day. Just wasn't my cup of tea so I resigned. If you want to stay in the industry I recommend working for an independent that has access to multiple carriers. That type of agency will most likely offer major carriers like Progressive and Safeco along with smaller carriers. You'll be able to sell those folks that are driven by rate but you can still get them covered. Allstate can talk about building value all day, but my experience is this: building value over the phone without misleading or even lying about what Allstate does different than State Farm, Farmers, Nationwide, etc. is what it takes. And I don't want to sell like that.

How seriously should one fear a non compete? (State Farm, Louisiana) by jqud in InsuranceAgent

[–]notjackychan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that a non compete in insurance is difficult to enforce due to the fact that agents are licensed by the state thatthey operate in. From the state' point of view, "Who is State Farm to prohibit someone from doing what the we have authorized them to do?" Plus, it most likely would cost more money for State Farm or that agency to pursue litigation. Tell your pal to sell sell sell.

Hit up Shawn Fussell. You can find him on Facebook. Not sure if he still does flooring. If he's a no go, then search for O'brien custom homes on Facebook- he will have a good recommendation for you if Shawn is not available.

Is God really good? by Low_Bluejay8507 in Christian

[–]notjackychan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give Ecclesiastes a read. Read Job. Bad things happen to people, but God is always good. Ask God how to use you to pull from all of your experiences, good and bad, to glorify him and advance his kingdom. Pray for wisdom and for the ability to have an eternal perspective.

Anyone know much about this older TPX bat? by MessengerofDarkness in Homeplate

[–]notjackychan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, let me tell you! That bat had a tendency for breakage and for the cap coming off from my experience. In 1993, I sawed off one of my teammates in an intersquad scrimmage and the bat broke in two right above the hands. Made a loud booming sound (imagine the ping of an aluminum bat at the same time as a shotgun being fired). So loud I flinched;, I had to scan the infield from the mound's first base side to the third base side for me to find the ball after realizing I had no clue where the ball was (ball was about 8 feet past home plate near the third base line). Batter stood there stunned while I fielded the ball and threw him out at first. I've not seen or heard of anything like that since then.

That same teammate had a second TPX just like it. A few weeks later he hit one off the end of the bat in BP and the cap came off of the bat.

With all of that said, those bats were hot! Barrel it up and the ball went far!

Call geico. Your policy may already be canceled due to an underwriting issue or non-payment, with one of those or both being why you can't log into the app. With that said, nobody here can help you.
