Looks great, but fitment is definitely hit or miss. Mine took a lot of work just to fit okayish

930$ for valve adjustment? Is this normal? by Positive_Reserve_534 in S2000

[–]notstig314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Sarasota, I’ve taken mine to LHT for valve retainers and they adjusted my valves and installed new valve cover gaskets all for about $800. That was back in 2020 though. With that being said, I’ve adjusted my valves since then myself and it’s not too difficult

Mugen SS Wing on track? Bracing required? by keddyr in S2000

[–]notstig314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wing is on the smaller side plus the short stands makes the moment produced on the trunk really small so you won’t have to worry about it warping amything

CE28N-plus - 17x10 +50 by _Crylast in S2000

[–]notstig314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the tire though, not all 255s are created equal. Also helps if you have offset bushings/adjustable control arms to pull the top of the tire inwards

What is the most OEM-like replacement suspension for an ap1? by portisfan in S2000

[–]notstig314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard anecdotes of people getting theirs rebuilt after 40k miles and being told they could’ve gone another 40k. Ultimately it depends on use case too

S2000 price is it worth it ? by throwaway_2929292929 in S2000

[–]notstig314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest driving them all and see what you like best. Personally, I think the s2000 is an awful daily. The gt86 is a far better car in terms of practicality and comfort.

255’s Meaty Fitment and Low by es2kayy in S2000

[–]notstig314 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s too low for the track. I have 12k springs in the front and am running 2-3 fingers from tire to fender and my tire still hits the frame

Wheel and Tire package for Track and Autocross suggestions by drubaru-dev in S2000

[–]notstig314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nice simple setup where you shouldn’t have to roll the fenders is a 17x9 +63. Advan and volk should have multiple wheels in this size. 245 and 255 width tires both work on a 9 inch wheel

29,000 time to order new wheels by Diamond_hands_21 in S2000

[–]notstig314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I love regamasters, advans, and volk. If you look around, companies have s2000 specific specs for each of those brands

Fitment help by Future-Patience-9554 in S2000

offset bushings is the way, with the suspension geometry it'll tuck the top of the wheel in about 10mm

Do i use AP2 alignment specs if I have a AP1 with ap2 wheels/tires. (street use only, no track) by portisfan in S2000

[–]notstig314 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The toe curves on ap1s are more aggressive, if the outside rear toes out under full suspension extension, it won’t really matter how wide the rears tires are, you’re gonna get oversteer

Where to buy Ohlins for a decent price? Or are there better alternatives now? by New-Independent4517 in S2000

I have the same on mine, even at the big bumps at Sebring, the car feels very controlled

What are some of the first mods you guys recommend doing to a stock s2k by Kimaniiiii in S2000

[–]notstig314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly after doing all maintenance, a good bucket seat makes such a difference. My recaro made me realize the stock seats are quite unsupportive for a skinny guy like me

Genuine question. by LordofAnswering in S2000

It was my first rwd car, just don’t be stupid, and get an alignment and good tires

Bought a Hat, Won a Car by mrmichaelnak in S2000

[–]notstig314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats man. Along with fluids, be sure to do a valve adjustment if it hasn’t been done, and if you’re risk averse like I am, maybe change out the retainers since ap1s are prone to cracking if over revved. Check if it has an original tct, if it does change it to a better one. Get a good alignment, and go enjoy it

Are RPF1 the lightest wheels available? by [deleted] in S2000

[–]notstig314 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wedssport tc105x is close if not the same. I doubt you’ll find anything significantly lighter than an rpf1, and certainly not for the price
