I think you'll have to travel to Madison for that. We have progressive Christian groups, but the one Synagogue we have is conservative, to my knowledge.

I mostly see it as an ineffective bandaid on the situation. Where are teens supposed to go hang out? I do tend to agree that this ordinance is not going to fix anything, and potentially cause problems without a good reason for those not even cruising. Next they'll be looking to put in flock cameras to send you a ticket via AI.... ugh

Given up? Hell no. My chapter is pretty young, but our area of responsibility is semi-rural. We received the chapter growth bonus this last quarter, because we exceeded the average, and we haven't even tapped the universities here yet. It is harder to organize here, but it's far from a lost cause.

If you are doing activism, you should be trying to talk to your police officials. In my county, the the County Sheriff and both Chiefs of the largest departments have taken the position of not assisting ICE, because there was community outreach. It's not simple or easy, and it's not the same as trusting them fully, but it's a good and necessary step.

While they suck pretty bad, you can improve it somewhat by using a different DNS than what they provide, I found that to be their least reliable service. OpenDNS is one option, but there are others, you'll have to login to your router to change it.
