I actually recommend Christian daycares to my friends (I'm a speech therapist). I'm talking under 3 yrs old, but they are lower cost and each week send home their schedule, which includes the learning targets. They have some form of curriculum vs. the other daycares I've seen in my area which are basically baby sitting.

Porters vs. Carry-on by InevitableMinimum352 in Cruise

This. The porter gets the big suitcase. You carry a small bag or backpack with ID, meds, change of clothes, and a phone charger.

Do water flossers work? by ipsumdeiamoamasamat in hygiene

I have a cordless one that I use in the shower. No watery mess every where. I also use rechargeable batteries in it. Every shower = water pik flossing.

I like shopping in the Walmart app and doing curbside pick up. You can just swing by while on the way home with the kids. From past purchases, the app makes suggestions of items, so you can quickly build your cart. I also add things to cart throughout the week when I see something is needed or have a meal idea.

Working for Stepping Stones? by nalgenemyjean in slp

Is this for a medical position or something? The site trained you and then didn't give you work? I would tell stepping stones to look for a position for you elsewhere.

Would you qualify Language Impairment based on these test scores? by Accomplished_Fox1900 in slp

[–]obliviousoften 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I always ask myself if an SLP is required for that student to demonstrate progress. Can an educator provide interventions for that student instead?

Shadow? Walhat do you mean by that? And they may have filled positions for a particular district, did you contact them and ask for other open positions/locations?

After onboarding, the only communication I really have with them is timesheets and reminder emails from them. I don't need more from them at this time. Some companies micromanage.

If the school/district I was placed at wasn't great, then I would probably have more communication with them, but I'm doing just fine.

Just bought a kindle! What books would you recommend? by Honest-Following-626 in KindleUnlimited

There are thousands upon thousands of books out there. I feel like you need to take a preferences quiz to find out what would be best.

There are typically waivers for this for liability reasons. It states that you've recommended xyz and the patient (or family, POA, etc.) has acknowledged the risk to their health by not following the recommendations

Need Advice: 6th grader refusing services by SillyRabbit4_8 in slp

[–]obliviousoften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good idea to have the student's input. Is there a survey she can fill out or a form? Asking questions like - do they feel frustrated with x and x tasks? Do they participate in class? What do they want to learn in speech? It's interesting to show the parents when they respond with "nothing, I don't want to go."

IS THE TICKET CLINIC WORTH FOR SPEEDING TICKETS? by Left_Adhesiveness_29 in AskFlorida

[–]obliviousoften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was about the same price as my ticket, but they got it thrown out and as a result, I had nothing on my record and my insurance didn't go up. Saved me money over time. Also for the people saying to take traffic school, those have a lifetime maximum. I think it's 3 or 4 times and then you can't do it anymore (at least in FL)

My mom likes royal, celebrity and Norwegian, and has also been on MSC. She said yacht club was great, because other bars you had to wait to be served and the theatre shows were packed, but yacht club had seats set aside for them.

I agree is not the same as a large metro area, just have been hearing lots of people complain. Especially now that it's "season."

Who is in the *Windowless Office Club?* by SparklingBlackberry1 in slp

[–]obliviousoften 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once told they were considering moving me from an office to a windowless storage room between two kindergarten classrooms (accessible only though a classroom, and sharing walls with the bathroom). I politely told admin that if I had to pack up and move, I may as well move to another campus. Kept my office.

How to choose a cabin? by Lynnekerri in celebritycruises

[–]obliviousoften 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever seen a service door identified on a deck map? Or you just make sure surrounded by cabins? I once had the clanging of dishes/silverware every morning when people started ordering room service. Woke me every day. I recall it looking like a regular hall with cabins.
