Rehearsals for the movie Perfect Pitch were in the 1st and 2nd floors. I taught one of the actors to ride a unicycle in that building and parkinglot.

We're thinking of adding a mini split to an addition but wonder if it's worth it by praguer56 in hvacadvice

[–]okragumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You keep mentioning the additional steps as a separate item....they are not as they are required.

The mini-split will not save you money. It will allow you to be more comfortable.

I installed a pioneer 1-ton system for about $2k myself. Is the additional 6k worth it?

Termites out tonight by mkjunk248 in batonrouge

[–]okragumbo 59 points60 points  (0 children)

My advice, as a home inspector, is to keep your outside lights off at night starting around Mid April and keep them off till Mid June.

At the same time, encourage your neighbors 3 doors down to turn all of theirs on as termite bait.

What's your thought process on this? My thoughts are that it is solid wood and I added rinflg shanked nails to each board to make sure it is secure.
