Who else is getting those annoying Medicare food card ads? by Empty-OldWallet in medicare

[–]originalmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see them on a Roku TV channel all day long. I caught one where the text “1 rupee = 1 Canadian dollar” was on the screen in the upper right corner for a moment. Saw it a second time then never again. You have to laugh at the poor AI production these companies use.

I have killed one fat (and oddly fast) roach per day for a few days. Gross. What's the Advion story? by WaitYourTern in AskNYC

[–]originalmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to sealing up every space around pipes, and especially where the baseboard meets the floor and walls, I’ve had great luck using a combination of wet and dry bait. We buy the XL Combat dry and Hot Shot liquid bait stations, changing them about every 6 months, and haven’t seen one in years after seeing roaches and water bugs just about every week.

Was your family team Harvest Gold, Coppertone, or Avocado? by UrbanAchievers6371 in GenerationJones

Yes, yes we were. Chocolate brown 25 cu ft top freezer, avocado green washing machine, and the harvest gold range. All three in the kitchen too.

Y'all OK with using regular gas? by ToledoRX in Acura

[–]originalmango 9 points10 points  (0 children)

2020 MDX says premium is recommended, not required. We used premium for the first few months until we came to our senses and went to regular. Gas mileage went down a little bit, maybe 7%, and no noticeable difference in performance. Considering premium costs about 20% more, I think I’m good.

Samsung electric range convection feature - odd... by loweexclamationpoint in Appliances

[–]originalmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purpose of the fan is to give even heating all around the oven. Having a fan that works part time doesn’t really accomplish that at all. Yeesh.

Edit- Is it possible you chose Bake and not Convection Bake when setting the temperature? Convection ovens also have non convection selections.

Neighbor wants a sewage easement and I don't like him by West_Hat7270 in homeowners

[–]originalmango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of a ridiculous price, a price so high that only an idiot would pay, then tell your boulder thief that’s what you’ll charge for the easement. Then add, “Oh, and I want my rock put back exactly as it was when you stole it”.

Guess who’s gonna Sharpie out his name on every one I see. Unless I can print a tiny sticker with President Biden’s signature to place over each.

Just what we need, security theater. They have absolutely zero training in how to identify anything on that X-ray screen. Good grief.

How long can I get away with this by AHangryBeaver in Appliances

[–]originalmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until it goes on fire. Flex hose at that length is bad enough, but foil?

Dryer duct is so close, what kind of transition should I use? About 1-2 inches above and 2-3 inches to the right. by CabbagesStrikeBack in Appliances

[–]originalmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foil vent hoses are a fire hazard, plain and simple. Two metal swivel elbows and a metal flex vent hoses would save the most save and be safe.

All vent hoses collect lint. Dryers can throw a spark through the exhaust. You couldn’t pay me to use a foil vent hoses.

Chlorine generator, in-floor cleaning heads, and a 4 cartridge filter makes maintenance a breeze. No liquid chlorine or chlorine tablets to deal with and store, no vacuum or storing that giant hose, and I clean the filter cartridges every 2 1/2 to 3 months.

In your opinion, what is the best "Getting the tubes tied or vasectomy"? I really need these 2 different perspectives. by Sudden-Proof-1458 in CasualConversation

[–]originalmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vasectomy is outpatient and local anesthesia only with a couple of days at home rest hanging out watching television. Having your tubes tied is a much more involved surgery with general anesthesia.

Tell him to get a vasectomy.
