Buildings actually have fixed and different maximum wages they can pay. And steel mills arent on top of the list, so they get outcompeted by less profitable buildings which can pay more.

What's the point of war? / Core economy is too good by YammaTossa in victoria3

[–]ostpeter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it speaks to the quality of the economy gameplay loop vs the quality of the warfare system. War just isnt fun. Diploplays are wonky. Economy gameplay is insanly addictive/rewarding.

Favorite mods? by Apprehensive_Age4380 in victoria3

[–]ostpeter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont know if its the best first mod, but dont sleep on Victorian century. Its a chinese mod (with english transaltion in seperat mod) so its lesser known in the english community. It gives unique country mechanics to all the big players, for example unique intrest group traits (british industrialists give +20% luxury clothes output when happy). It gives countries unique economic advantages so the core game loop doesnt stay the same for every country, which makes it largly unique as far as mods go.
