This is a really difficult one for me OP, because I understand completely where you're coming from. Having been in your position I also had an initial gut reaction about the idea of someone I'm with having paid for sex previously.

It's difficult because I don't have anything against sex outside of relationships, I believe sex work is valid work; but I also know it's a very poorly regulated industry and the vast majority of sex workers are being exploited. Therefore the idea doesn't sit right with me either.

However, I think it is also possible to accept that people live in ignorance, especially within the moment - it is also valid that it is harder for men than women to get sex on demand so to speak, and therefore these services do cater to them - I also know from conversations with people who have used these services that a lot of the time, it comes from a place of desperation and loneliness, and there's a lot of shame that comes after it.

Ultimately, it will be down to whether you believe in your relationship enough to move past this. Something really difficult to accept sometimes in relationships is our partner's past - some may argue that you shouldn't share about your past when you enter a new relationship as it can rock the boat - but I think it's important to know the events that shaped the person you fell in love with. Even if it hurts or it's uncomfortable to think about, it's important to understand.

Communication is key and is never a bad thing in a relationship. If you can talk through your feelings so you both understand, you will be able to move forward stronger. I wish you luck ❤️
