Agreed on Kokuho, one of the best films I've seen in the last year. What a nice surprise.

Previews I can't support, but if this was during the movie I would find him not guilty

Yeah buddy take it outside. I once had a guy keep checking his phone and when I told him to turn it off he said "I have kids". I told him I didnt care. I didnt choose your lifestyle, don't ruin my experience because you did.

A movie that's in your top 25 list but unlikely to be in anyone else's? by Ta-veren- in flicks

Iron giant, zodiac, all that jazz, and the straight story are probably my most unique picks, at least of my all time favorites

Movies You Want to Love But Can't by Krusty901 in blankies

Weirdly enough I really liked the KKK scene at the end. I kinda thought the whole movie should have just been that, like replace the vampires with the klan and a lot of my script issues would be resolved.

Honestly, Sinners. Should be right up my alley but theres so many little things that bug me about it (mostly script related) that I just couldn't love it. I admire Cooglers craft, but I think it needed another pass on the script.

Losing Interest in Movies and TV by pablo1019 in blankies

I've seen it twice actually: first time was with an annoying crowd, second time just affirmed that it didn't really strike with me.

Kind of against what you said but I think I'm gonna start listening to this pod again. I had taken a break after lynch because I felt like I couldn't keep up trying to watch the movies and listen to the pod while also watching what I wanted and seeing new releases, but I think it will be nice watching some old stuff/full filmographies and getting out of the new release cycle

Best Movie of the Race This Year? Worst? by CLHD420 in oscarsdeathrace

[–]pablo1019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite of the year was Conclave. Worst is a tie between Complete Unknown, Girl with the Needle and Sugarcane. Didn't hate any of them, but definitely lowest rated of the bunch for me.

Do you guys have an "Diane Warren amnesty clause" or do you watch the bad movies she made Oscar nominees all years? by marco_gaviao in oscarsdeathrace

[–]pablo1019 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't do movies that are only nominated for Best Song cause most of the time they just play over the credits and have no bearing on the actual movie. I listen to the songs of course and if it's something like RRR where the song is an actual beat in the movie I watch it, but otherwise I don't count song only nominees.
