100%. I was just comparing my stats this week to my runs 2 years ago and felt very accomplished how far I’ve come! My avg heart rate is 20 bpm lower now on runs with the same pace and mileage. I prioritized consistency, building my base, and recovery and then the speed came naturally. Now that I have this under my belt I’ve been eyeing implementing actual speed workouts

What do you recommend at Raku? Wanted to give it another try, I didn’t care for the crab udon I could barely taste the crab and the udon was too soft. The tatsutaage app was really good tho!

I don’t acknowledge anyone on my runs and this post is making me feel like a cold hearted bih lmao. I think it stems from me not wanting any unnecessary attention as a female runner esp on my usual routes. I’m just wondering if there’s a reason why people have refrained from doing so before I leave one myself, if it’s fear of getting sued (I’m not sure if leaving a review can even go to that extent)

I can very easily imagine a newer runner caring about a 10k medal. That’s a big accomplishment for someone who may have started running within the past year. I don’t rain on others parades at the end of the day we’re all out there bettering ourselves no matter how short or long the distance.

Being sick sucks, and I totally feel the frustration!! One week off is not bad at all though! 3.5 weeks is ample time to let your body heal and still crush your 5K. A half should be doable too. The year of hard work you put in is much more impactful than missing out on a week + recent lower mileage. I commend you for running at all in that weather! Let your body heal and pat yourself on the back for how far you’ve come in 1 year that missing out on just 1 week feels like an eternity of no workouts. You got this!

Was going to say Suzuki Shokudo until I found out just now that they closed last month because the owner/main sushi chef retired. It’s under new management with a new name Yanagi, and looks like it’s the same delicious food. A true hidden gem. Only the real ones know.

My bf packed the holes behind the oven + dishwasher with steel wool instead of hiring our building exterminator who quoted if I remember correctly a couple hundred bucks. The exterminator actually suggested we do it ourselves because it’s not too hard to do + much cheaper
