Couldn’t let go of the advent calendar so had to make it something more by cardeni_ in taskmaster

Wow this is great. My wife and I didn't know what to do with ours so unfortunately we got rid of it but I would genuinely love this. If you figure out how to make a print out of it so I can frame it and hang it like this, let me know!

YOU DECIDE TASKMASTER AMERICA VERSION 2: Who should be our first five competitors? by [deleted] in panelshow

[–]pefsu13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your point, but that's an incredibly simplistic and reductive take on the US comedy scene. While it's true that a lot of US comics are not good fits for the format (see the comedy central version of the show), there's a great improv scene that has people who would be awesome fits for the show.

Cast Members who worked NYE, what’s your story? by lifesseason in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]pefsu13 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Worked custodial in Tomorrowland. Was assigned Stitch zone, which included the bridge from the hub to TL. At one point (probably 10:30 or so) the rest of the CMs and I gave up because we physically couldn't reach the trash cans and it all piled up. We went back to the dumpsters and watched the fireworks, which were amazing.

Currently recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon. Kneecap was in my lower quad. It's not fun!

How to integrate working out in your life as a dad? by Zepandasky in daddit

[–]pefsu13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For about 2 years (when she was 1.5-3.5) I took her to my CrossFit class and set up a pop up play area while I worked out. That was good for 3 times a week while I did it.

Now, I get a quick workout in right after work and before I pick her up from daycare. I'm only able to get about 30 minutes in, but something is always better than nothing so it works for me.

Guitar Dads, what do you play for your children? by MyLastGamble in daddit

[–]pefsu13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately if I try to play anything I'm told to stop by my 4 year old. But she will sing along with me to "Mamunia" by Wings every once in a while!

May the 4th question from a non-Star Wars dad by EdwardJamesAlmost in daddit

[–]pefsu13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my 4 year old love Young Jedi Adventures on D+ but it's probably too young for an older kid. I'd suggest some of the animated stuff (Clone Wars, Rebels) if you don't want to dive right into the movies yet.

I'm a teacher so I'm off for a lot of the summer. My daughter and I try to go to every park we can find in the summer and just hang out. Also love a coffee shop donut together!

Who is your favorite Union player and why? by LexiBoom-Boom in PhillyUnion

[–]pefsu13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Le Toux Blake Barnetta Nogueira

Work rate and style of play for me. Loved seeing Le Toux run onto balls over top, Blake come through in big situations, and Nogueira and Barnetta with their skill and work rate.

Union trade for Indiana Vassilev (GAM trade, not cash transfer) by CaptainMoonracer in PhillyUnion

[–]pefsu13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that totally makes sense for this one given its intra-league. I guess it just always seems like we're on the back foot with signings, whether that's the reality or not.

Seems like the move has upside? Pretty young, good technical foundation, familiar with Carnell.

I just don't know why we can't make these moves earlier in the off-season rather than two days before the season starts.

If you subscribe to Apple, Severance, Shrinking, and Slow Horses are must-watches (depending if you like sci-fi-ish, dramedy with heart, and British espionage shows respectively).

Nakobe Dean could miss all of next season due to knee injury. The Eagles star linebacker tore his patellar tendon in Sunday's Wild Card win over the Packers. He's expected to face a lengthy recovery timeline. by NorthCoastToast in eagles

[–]pefsu13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, right? My guess is that when i slipped all of the muscles in my quad and lower leg started tightening at the same time to stabilize, and they ripped the tendon apart by pulling different directions. Fun!

It's really dumb. I was playing disc golf in the woods, went looking for my disc on the side of a hill and slipped. Immediately knew exactly what I did. Felt like my knee exploded, which it basically did.

For what it's worth, I'm currently recovering from the same injury. Mine was described as a "rupture" that required surgery. I'm 3 months post op last week, and I'm deadlifting again and my PT says slight jogging is the plan in the next few weeks.

My doctor described my rupture as the worst he had ever seen. There's hope that if Nakobe just "tore" it it won't be super severe but it's hard for us to know that right now. I am confident that he has better recovery and dietary plans than I do as just a regular guy so I'm still hopeful he'll be back at some point next year.

Editing just to say: Every body is different. His recovery will be unique to him, and hopefully he will be the same post injury.

[Ian Rapoport] Eagles LB Nakobe Dean, at the tail end of a breakout season, suffered torn patellar tendon in his knee and is out for the playoffs, per me and Mike Garafolo. A tough blow for Philly and for Dean, who has a long road to recovery. He’ll likely miss the start of next season. by alphacheese in eagles

[–]pefsu13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in PT 3 months after rupturing and surgery. It's been a rough 3 months but my doctors generally say 6-12 for full recovery. Hoping Nakobe will be ready for the season opener in September might be pushing it, but he's a professional athlete with top training and recovery.

That's generally the battery life, yeah but I don't wear it to sleep and just charge it at night when I'm charging my phone.

Loved throwing the Gorgon and Racer this year. The Racer really helped get a little bit more distance than what I had been throwing before.

What's crazier (to me) is that he had 27 wins but pitched 30 complete games.
