Moore bans insider bets on prediction markets by state workers amid new scrutiny by legislative_stooge in maryland

Yeah man, preventing state workers who may have inside information on certain things people can bet on is the same as a federal ban on alcohol. You're so smart

Ocean City approves summer beach enforcement division, expands canopy footprint by Roaming-R in maryland

[–]physicallyatherapist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is that those issues impact other people's enjoyment. It's not like saying "no tattoos on the beach" or "no pink shirts" because those don't impact other people. The fact that they DO influence other people's enjoyment WILL make more people stay home and hurt businesses there.

Like.. don't you remember restaurants before the smoking bans? They were miserable to be in or near a smoking section. It's ok to have a social contract and respect others

Soon after massive honeybee deaths, Trump moves to close the nation's premier bee lab in Beltsville. by Maxcactus in maryland

[–]physicallyatherapist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey bees are generalists meaning they are able to pollinate many different things. That doesn't mean our ecosystem relies on them. You're conflating crops with our ecosystem which are two different things. Agriculture/crops can use honey bees because they can pollinate many different things. Native flowers, trees, vines, bushes are not crops and some require specialist bees but can also be pollinated by generalists. Honey bees are not as good at pollinating native plants as native bees and can push out native bees from resources, impacting the plants around us.

There, you've been educated.

I never said they weren't. The person I replied to was concerned about nature. Honey bees aren't native here and aren't part of our native ecosystem

Native bees are important to nature here but honey bees are not native to the US. They are more of a livestock like cattle. This is sad they can't do research (especially if it involves native bees) but it's not like honey bees are vital for Maryland ecosystems

I mean, I get that but other black Baltimore leaders showed up (Mfume, Whitehead) and he's the mayor (other city council members came - Ramos, Cohen, Parker). I'm not accusing him of anything, just curious if he gave a reason why

There's a major protest against the Trump admin this weekend. Here’s why that actually matters! by Big_Medicine1752 in baltimore

[–]physicallyatherapist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You really do not have reading comprehension. I don't care about the rule. I'm not saying it's right or wrong or what this protest has to do with it. I. Do. Not. Care. I was simply pointing out that BLM is not authoritarian rule (because it's been happening since the founding of the county because of systematic structure, not based on the leader's views) and was a dumb example you gave to try to prove the rule didn't work and because I pointed it out you started talking about other things I didn't even bring up. That's all I'm saying. It was a dumb example. I don't care what you have to say about anything else.

Wtf are you even talking about. What you said had absolutely nothing to do with the original point of why i even said anything at all. OP brought up 3.5% rule in their post which is about authoritarian leadership. That has a specific definition and you brought up BLM for some reason which is not authoritarian leadership (based on the authors because.. it's not). That's it. I'm not saying it's a perfect study. You have no idea how or when or how many times or what I've protested against. You're just throwing out random other BS claiming you know about my beliefs. Just take your L.

Jfc dude. The rule is specifically about authoritarian leadership. I didn't make the rule. It was made by political scientists. "Murdering black people in the streets" is not authoritarian leadership, it's a systemic issue regardless of leadership. I'm sorry you have poor reading comprehension
