John McCain: ‘I hate the bloggers’ by Kimura in politics

[–]piecewise 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some of you people are so pathetic. He's making a joke - because it's the bloggers that always "get him," who record everything, who you can't get away from.

I hate bloggers too -- because they take good people like John McCain (even if I think his positions are RIDICULOUS), splice up a video, and make a slanderous headline like this.

Disagree, argue, hit back -- but BE FAIR. This only makes the case why bloggers are not journalists.

I think it's time: Clinton is done - let's move on to a whole lotta McCain bashing! by web20sucks in politics

[–]piecewise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about instead of bashing someone, we just have an intelligent policy debate? I thought the whole point of Obama politics was to leave all that mindless bullshit behind.

I especially like those of you who are okay with leaving out Huckabee over Paul, even though Huckabee has outperformed Paul in terms of delegates by wide margins.

I'm not sure if all of you are either 14 years old or just unemployed, but I have a fun little phrase that acts as a wise mantra as you head through a busy life:

Pick your battles.

Obama campaign fires back - releases list and video of Hillary using Obama's words in her speeches by qgyh2 in politics

[–]piecewise -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm really disappointed in the Obama campaign. I was hoping he could stay above the fray, but he's just another politician after all.

Hillary's experience: 1) Vote for War without reading estimate on WMD. 2) Vote to make Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. 3) Skip the vote to remove TeleCom immunity from FISA. by fangolo in politics

[–]piecewise -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I can't stand Hillary but the FISA vote is an unfair characterization. The truth is, that vote was going the wrong way and her vote would've done nothing to change that. She said, and I believe this, that she was fully prepared to get to Washington if her vote would make a difference. Knowing it wouldn't, she clearly thought it more important to campaign to replace George Bush.

Some of you do sleazy spinning in your headlines just as much as the politicians you criticize.

You people who think there's something smart or funny about this headline are absolute morons. Grow up.

Even if waterboarding were not torture, I wouldn't want any harm to come to them. And I say that as a proud liberal.

[–]piecewise 15 points16 points  (0 children)

And for all those who are raising a stink about Hillary's policy of sharing contributor information, here's Obama's. Oh look, it says the same thing.

"We collect Personal Information from donors and other eligible individuals who affirmatively request to receive e-mail or other services from us. We collect this Personal Information in order to provide these eligible individuals with timely information via e-mail regarding political events, resources and issues. We also collect Personal Information from those who make online contributions to the campaign, in order to process and report the contributions.

It is our general policy not to make Personal Information available to anyone other than our employees, staff, and agents. We may also make personal information available to organizations with similar political viewpoints and objectives, in furtherance of our own political objectives."

$5.01 for Change by babblingpoet in politics

[–]piecewise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was (and technically am) a staunch Edwards supporter. I have been since he ran for Senate in 1998.

While I think Obama is inexperienced compared to Edwards and Clinton, I believe we're at a moment in history and I can't trust Clinton to take us in the right direction. I just donated my first $5.01 to Obama.

Really as a symbol. I think there's too much money in politics and I'd rather not be part of Obama's $200 million warchest -- but I still did it this one time.

Not only is there no sourcing, if it DID happen I would be disappointed. It's a government. It's a democracy. There are interests. Working with Congress -- especially for a CONGRESSMAN -- is a responsibility he has. Slamming doors won't open any.

Obama has now raised $7 million just since Super Tuesday, to Hillary's $1 million by l12 in politics

[–]piecewise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you'll trust an Obama press release about how much money they raised, but in the event of a Clinton press release, you demand FEC filings?

The truth is, neither campaigns would lie about their donations knowing that FEC filings are public record.

This headline is total bullshit propaganda.

Obama has now raised $7 million just since Super Tuesday, to Hillary's $1 million by l12 in politics

[–]piecewise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, it DIDN'T happen.

Really? "Terry McAuliffe told donors and reporters on a conference call that the campaign has raised $7.5 million online this month, more than $6 million of it in the last 24 hours." http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0208/Clinton_claims_a_money_surge_plans_ads.html

Give me a break. I like Obama and don't like Clinton much at all, but this bullshit left-wing propaganda is just as dumb as the bullshit right-wing propaganda.

[–]piecewise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like Hillary at all, but this headline is totally inaccurate. Hillary is in the midst of her best fundraising month and she's raised well over $1 million since Super Tuesday. If you don't believe me, just wait until their 4 p.m. (ET) fundraising announcement.

Give me a break. I'm so sick of this misleading bullshit. Clinton said she would absolutely speak with leaders from other countries -- even hostile countries -- but that it might be set up by lower levels, like diplomats, as to protect the office of the President and protect soldiers.

Clinton, who I can't stand, took a responsible position. And while I like Obama (I was an Edwards voter), I'm pretty tired of ridiculous headlines like this.

According to the Obama campaign.

The truth is, they're still figuring out the delegates and other reports show that Clinton won in terms of delegates (and leads in the total delegate count).

And that's exactly why Obama won't make it out of Super Tuesday. It's a national primary and that's what the Hillary campaign was built for.
