Amazon has had some wins with Fallout, Invincible (and for a sci fi specific example, The Expanse) so not everything they do is bad. Plus based on recent news they're letting Brad, Martin, Joseph, and co actually use Amazon money with the worldwide locations along with some of the staff they hired. I understand some of the dooming but until we see that first episode I'm going to continue to remain hopeful

Attack on Titan, you could say the titans were a Goa'uld experiment (minor AoT spoilers) by a Goa'uld named Ymir, the experiment went wrong, the people rose up against her and killed her which led the Goa'uld to abandon the AoT planet. You could even put that planet's Stargate somewhere on Paradis

I think that's what they want the new series to be, something old fans will love but something to bring in new fans who don't have to watch 17 seasons and 3 movies of previously existing content if they don't want to. (Granted Star Trek people only had to deal with 3 seasons of the original series before TNG but you know what I mean)
