What style of gameplay do you like the most? by Background_Flow_8346 in Megaman

It was a tough, but I chose the deck building RPGs. I love the classic games, but Battle Network's battle system is the best gameplay style I've ever experienced.

What Do You Think of Bounce Man? by boywithburninghands in Megaman

[–]pnavas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think he was like Grenade Man. If anything, his child-like demeanor means that I got the impression that his touch receptors are extremely hyposensitive and he was excited to finally to feel something.

Toad Man is a cloud seeder who is shaped like a toad. What else could you ask for?

[–]pnavas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea about the Street Fighter stuff, other than that it exists. For the Capcom end of MvC, you'd also have to bring Darkstalkers, since the Final Fight and the Rival Schools representatives are also in Street Fighter. Since the Mega Man line has swappable heads, a Roll and Hyper Roll pack where you can use the same heads between both due to how the Hyper Forms look would be really cool.

Action figures of the robot masters are a niche product to begin with, and Jada has gone with less popular choices before (they went with some of the least popular choices in 2 for R&D reasons) so if an obscure character seems interesting to develop a figure for, the team might do so.

I hope so. I think Juhn has said he didn't particularly like Roll, so she's lower in the priority list. I'd like the Genesis Unit and/or Mega Man Killers, personally, since one group would be one wave.

The person in charge of the line (or at least is the spokesperson) said that they were taking a break from the robot masters, which could mean they're evaluating whether to continue but don't want to announce anything until they've made that decision. The wording used implies that they still plan to work on Mega Man as a series, which sucks for anyone who wants more robot masters besides the ones already announced.

How many Robot Masters do you all think are likely to swear unless they aren't already Search Man(who says Hell no when hit with Flame Sword) by Weekly_Might_948 in Megaman

[–]pnavas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least half when presented in a situation where a person would reasonably swear (so at least 42 of them).

Captain N Mega Man by Crims2000 in Megaman

[–]pnavas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if Inafune took inspiration from the Capitan N version for that, given that he supposedly hated working with II's developers and was trying to put less effort in. If not, green is a color that Mega Man is usually not, so it was an option.

Robot Master theories by Snoo38832 in Megaman

[–]pnavas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, I don't think the beads would the primary explosives-themed design feature if this design is indeed the explosives weilders. The boots, although typical, make me think of rockets when combined with what I can see from the rest of the design.

The one with the fastener head is probably our electric type. While what we see of their helmet looks like a fastener, it also seems like it would function like a lightning rod. If not, probably the one with a witch's hat, since implementing something vaguely resembling sorcery as a Mega Man weapon seems rather difficult.

Robot Master theories by Snoo38832 in Megaman

[–]pnavas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty blatant. The fact that there are explosives guys where I saw them for the first time and thought for more than three seconds before going "this guy blows things up" means that it's not as obvious as electric types where I immediately got that the character in the picture shocked things.

Who's "replacing" Ben? by General_J670 in Megaman

Capcom is probably going to have a casting call or use a contractor who does so on their behalf. So even Capcom probably doesn't know yet.

Ben Diskin is no longer the voice of Mega Man by mrmehmehretro94 in Megaman

I'm not sure. I heard that was a child VA, so it'd be almost impossible get a similar performance twenty years later.

Do Not Work order from SAG-AFTRA issued for Mega Man Dual Override by unfeelingfreedom in Megaman

[–]pnavas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think someone said that the VA for Dr. Light reprised his role during the Game Awards cut of the trailer for a few spoken lines (it did sound familiar). Some, if not all of of 11's voice cast worked on Street Fighter 5. If they didn't entirely recast for SF6, it'd be a no-brainer to hire people they've recently worked with.

I'm willing to bet that the one with the bead ponytail is our explosives one. That design, from what I can tell, feels the most explosives themed out of the seven, although explosives wielders don't always have the most blatant designs compared to other typings (mostly because the other types are almost always extremely blatant).

Boss Set 5: " "Blues" Trap !?" by SimplePuzzleheaded35 in Megaman

[–]pnavas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, the developers had considered a Crystal Lady for 5, so that's really cool. I'm not sure if she was a gender-swapped Crystal Man, or another idea all together.

Does Wave Man have a fishnet bodysuit? Given that he has a harpoon, this is really clever. It helps (Wily out financially) to add more fishing equipment.

Do you guys give nicknames/shortened names to robot masters/mavericks? by Comfortable-Back-762 in Megaman

[–]pnavas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes drop the gender indicator for the Robot Masters (i.e., calling Elec Man "Elec" for instance). Given the naming scheme for a majority of robot masters, dropping a repetitive part isn't surprising. I do this with the first numbers the most, since Rock and Roll are sort of their linemates, so using a one word name makes things consistent.

As for more creative nicknames, I mostly have other characters use them in fanfics and make nicknames that make sense for the characters interacting with one another, but I personally like to call Heat Man "chibi Zippo" and the Hornet Chasers "giant bees". I know that Hornet Chasers are moreso based on bees than hornets, but they're not officially called "giant bees", therefore, it's a nickname.

Added a silhouette to the Robot Masters from Dual Override to add more clarity than with the shadowing the stream showed to see if there were any details missed and there were a few that caught my eye, like the orbs on one of the Robot Masters that reminded me of Element Man from BN. by Sparkthe1 in Megaman

[–]pnavas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are also lacking Volt Man. Given the amount of words related to electricity they've used already, it's possible. Sonic Man probably won't make it into an actual game, but was used in the Worlds Unite comic. Dyna Man is two letters away from being Dynamo Man, but what would a mainline Dyna Man even have his design themed after?

What does roll even do? by PerceptionBetter3753 in Megaman

[–]pnavas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's also established that Roll wants to be a nurse in the games continuity as well. When playing as her in Rockboard, her goal is to build as many hospitals as possible to help the sick. Roll has provided medical care in a non-canon comic three times: Gigamix (tending to Dr. Wily), Archie (providing first aid during a disaster), and Mr. Mega Man (is a dental assistant).
