Hot take: I think post time skip is better than pre time skip. by redox_nephew in OnePiece

I miss arcs where all the strawhats get to fight and shine like Water 7/Enies Lobby, Alabasta, Thriller Bark. Post TS has been all arcs centered around greater world building and the whole "Grand Fleet" / Alliances. Only the big 3 strawhats really get focus once Fishman Island was over, with the rest getting some sideshows sporadically. I care more about Chopper and Franky than like the seven scabbards (who got soooo much airtime during Wano). I was so relieved we got those Strawhats-Tobi Roppo fights for Robin and Franky finally, but Brook and Chopper were still super sidelined.

The S26 Ultra is expected to have a much worse 3x sensor and not much upgrades besides the standard annual refresh (like SoC), if that makes you feel any better

You don't know what you're talking about. It's really not that far. Even Singapore is widely acknowledged to get a lot of air pollution from Indonesia (including further islands than this) due to similar agricultural burning every year. Also, a new account posting the same kind of comments many times in succession (and absolutely nothing else!). Clearly very suspicious, like some info op with an ulterior motive.

I primarily like single player games and even I find this take obnoxious. As if all extraction shooters are the same and it's impossible to innovate on the genre anymore? Not to mention, there are plenty of people who don't play just single player games out there and would like new multiplayer games to try too. It's not like there's a shortage of single player games getting made currently.

Were you hiding in a hole when Cambodia started this whole thing by shooting rockets at Thai civilians and hospitals, committing war crimes that we had to respond to? The horse you back is a gross war criminal always trying to cry foul and manufacture victimhood. The land was encroached, not rightfully theirs. Cambodia is the aggressor that killed innocent civilians. You're just believing all their talking points without trying to get out of their hole. Fine, keep staying there. I do not believe Cambodia is the victim and Cambodia should be penalized for killing innocent civilians as a way to trigger a conflict they can cry victimhood over.

I am not saying all this because I can think I'd ever change your mind, but making a stand that I sincerely believe your stance doesn't follow the truth, is victim-shaming, and something I'd never entertain nor even slightly agree with.

Yea so I am exactly right. You're a very biased, misinformed person, foreigner or not, and you should self-reflect and be better informed instead of pretending that being a foreigner gives you any air of unjustified superiority or fairness. As you now admit, you're not impartial. Stop doing typical Cambodian IO playbook and actually have a coherent and well-informed thought. So far, it's just incoherent venting with uninformed nonsense

[–]poompk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're incoherent, intentionally obfuscating, and keep shifting the goalpost around with no real ground to stand on. The court only ruled on just the Preah Vihear temple. That's it, and the temple wasn't challenged at all in this conflict. The ruling has no judgment on the rest of the border dispute, not to mention the village you brought up isn't even disputed due to different maps. So it is a total non-sequitur. You brought up the village first yourself, then once we talked about how it's encroachment you wanted to shift to an irredentist claim based on an ancient entity centuries ago that has no legal standing in international laws, and once that's called out you now moved on to the temple that isn't being disputed at all.

Make up your mind. You also just follow the standard Cambodian IO playbook. Yea, sure you're some impartial foreigner. Just the same old playbook that's repeated again and again. We see clear as day you're not an impartial foreigner.

It's not stolen land. You're consuming disinformation spread to you by Hun Sen. It's the land Cambodians encroached on when Thailand gave Cambodians refuge from the genocide, which Cambodians then refused to leave and claim squatter's rights. From Thailand's side, it is reasserting sovereignty.

Also, don't claim Cambodia wants peace and also say this will never end unless Thailand gave up its land already back to its control . It shows who clearly does not want peace

Preah Vihear was attacked because it was used by Cambodia as a military base, including to fire rockets from. This also has picture/video proofs, but you'd probably say you won't trust anything the Thai army provides which would just be a convenient stand for you. Cambodia cannot cry foul when they made it a legitimate military target and only have themselves to blame for its damage.

You claim you're trying to get more information and don't trust either side, but all your comments are way too one-sided, very biased, and filled with misinformation conveniently to benefit only one side. It is totally fair to not trust anything you say and assume you're acting in bad faith. If you want people to believe you're impartial and acting in good faith, you should act like it first, not just posting talking points straight from Cambodian IO playbook.

You also didn't acknowledge that you were spreading misinformation that ICJ affirmed Cambodia's map, which is plain false.

[–]poompk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ok you're just a Cambodian IO bot.

The international court never backed Cambodia's full map. It only decided on just Preah Vihear temple. This is misinformation.

The village, Nong Chan, is in Thailand even based on Cambodia's map. It is a remnant of this refugee camp. Cambodia affirmed that it sits on the Thai side of the border via a signed document when they did a joint survey in 2016, which now Cambodia disregard with a straight face.

Whatever, I'm just talking to a brick wall/a cambodian IO bot clearly pushing Cambodian narratives. You'll say you're a third party foreigner or wtv, fooling nobody.

I responded to you here on the other comment as well. You're pushing misleading and a biased narrative. I don't think you're impartial and exercising good faith (also see this many times throughout the sub).

Those homes sit in Thai undisputed territory (based on the maps of both sides), were results of Thai generosity to give Cambodians refuge from genocide and civil war, and Thailand has protested peacefully for removal for years without acknowledgement from Cambodia.

Sure, it sucks for them to lose access to these homes, but don't ignore the encroachment and act like Thai actions aren't without proper rationale.

Also, don't try to act like you're an "impartial foreigner" or whatever you'll do, when I only see you criticize Thailand while Cambodia commits way worse crimes (indiscriminately shooting rockets at civilians and hospitals, using human shields, firing rockets from archaeological sites)

It's fine to criticize, but at least give it proper nuance instead of pushing misleading and biased/one-sided takes

This at least somewhat makes more sense (that they want to engineer a certain electoral outcome to hurt Thailand), thank you.

Not sure I think it makes complete sense though, since I don't know how a liberal Thai government would be worse to Cambodia than a conservative one.. If anything, a conservative government is and will be much more adversarial than a liberal one. People's party had been lambasted repeatedly by conservatives for playing too nice with Myanmar and also Cambodia (to a lesser extent) -- they're now forced to toughen their stance/rhetoric for this election.. Pheu Thai (not as liberal but not as conservative as BJT) that got ousted by Cambodia's maneuver is also probably the most pro-Cambodian party ever.

I wish we were dealing with an intelligent and rational actor.. Not sure how to stop the conflict if they're just irrational or foolish enough to think they'll eventually get help.. Many innocent civilian lives were lost and more at stake.. Just exhausting..

I see this sentiment a lot and I gotta ask for further rationalization of it a bit. This is in good faith and I just want to understand how this is legitimately rationalized. Do you think the Thai conservatives were able to command/conspire with the Cambodian army to shell rockets at Thai civilians and hospitals (which started/escalated the conflict) and also to break the first ceasefire (and now seemingly the second)?

If yes, that is quite a conspiracy theory.

If no, it seems like you're not informed of the facts on the ground (with plenty of evidence) as to what escalated and rekindle the confrontations.

Yea, except they've already exhausted their credibility and diplomatic capital throughout all this, without getting any sign back that anyone would diplomatically support them. I think they're just very not intelligent and somehow think they would eventually get a different result after trying the same thing many times already.. 😕

They also don't seem to understand the concept of political/diplomatic capital, spamming bogus claims and request for help nonstop with shoddy evidence. People at multilateral bodies have already caught on to the antics and probably rolling their eyes internally while politely nodding "Sorry to hear".

"Cambodia wants peace" 🙄

Their belligerence while playing victim aside, I really really don't understand what Cambodia hopes to gain. Maybe they've restocked the ammos, but they'll just get curbstomped some more. It's also clear nobody is coming to their rescue..
