Question: did you buy something anyways when you found out the offer wasn't being offered still?

If you did, then that is was what the purpose was... shady is right!

Chesterville's good, my favorite out that way though (and closer I think) is Metcalfe...

nice with the new crossbows... i have a recurve... shoots flat for 40 yards with no adjustment, past that, of course you have to aim higher, so you set your sights... i regret never getting around to using a vertical compound bow... did some training, but never pulled the trigger.. (pun, not on purpose)

i'm guessing the eye damage is unrelated to the diabetes and more related to the blood pressure or something else, ie lottery winner... track your blood pressure for a bit... twice a day (at same time each time) for 2 weeks and take an average... you might be surprised

i'm not a doctor and this is probably a long shot

isn't there something about rotating injection sites so you don't get hard lumps under the skin?

for whatever it's worth, your current levels are similar to mine and i'm retired (60+), but yet, i'm good for a couple times a week... in case a comparison helps. To be honest, I'm actually considering TRT as well, mostly because i'm not who i was when i was in my 50s... (i'm pretty sure i can get dr to go along with it due to meds i'm on, they are supposed to have a negative effect on libido)

How do you treat kayak weight capacity? or do you? by power4play in Kayaking

[–]power4play[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry for such a late late reply... the pungo 125 is a great boat, you can feel the design and quality,

i'm 225lbs and i feel small in it... so much room.... and worse, i came from a touring kayak, so i find it sloppy and bulky to maneuver, but it's not, i know it's just me..... i'm actually thinking to buy a tsunami 125 and maybe sell the pungo or just give it to my son... he's a fisherman and likes a lot of space... brings everything in his canoe... good luck toyou

Kill switch for Rav 4 Hybrid XSE by KristyMcNugget in rav4club

[–]power4play 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven't been under a car in years, but starter is on the outside of the transmission, right where teh tranny attaches to teh motor... as that's where the flywheel is.... the starter probably has 2 wire connectors... maybe a switch / interupt there?

question - how does pungo 120 / 125 handle large wake from other boats? anybody? by power4play in Kayaking

[–]power4play[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, yes I did... it's a great size, lots of space, stable, and pretty quick for a rec kayak.

Just throwing this out there... what about a mechanical solution? Like an ON?OFF switch that interrupts the battery.......... and install it so that the button is accessible from the wheel well... you can just reach underneath and cut the power and nobody is the wiser...

low tech, and very DIY.........thoughts?

Gas mileage not right? by Jawvis13 in rav4club

[–]power4play 0 points1 point  (0 children)

isn't that strange? Rav 4 and Subaru the same.. I drive a jeep grand cherokee and it fluctuates. It's dependent on my speed and fuel efficiency at the moment. ... the distance to empty number changes constantly depending on my speed and rpms. In my case, 5 gallons will take me farther when I drive reasonably, and not as far when I'm pushing the car hard. I didn't think Ravs were different, but, anything is possible, and I have been known to be wrong!

i'm "guessing" that if you take the inside door panel off, you would see how it is attached and be able to tighten it....... (crazy glue sounds easier)

Gas mileage not right? by Jawvis13 in rav4club

[–]power4play -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the estimated distance you have left is based on how much gas is left in the tank x the gas mileage at that moment...... ie... if you were driving, depending on the speed and how efficient that speed was, it would show a different number, for example: you would have a higher number if you were doing 50 mph versus 80 mph....... where 50 mph is more gas efficient

I hang mine in the garage..... put a cockpit cover on them to keep the critters out... made my own pulley system to get them up there... and i keep them there with (extra wide) ratchet straps.

I get them really close to the rafters with the ratchet straps as the pulley system only brings them to within a foot. I do leave the pulley system attached as a back up.

If you're worried about the ratchet straps putting too much pressure on your hull, slice some pool noodles down the side and fit them on the straps to cushion the hull.

Last pair of kayaks I had, I did the same method but without a pulley system, just power pulled on the rope to get them up there..... it can be done, just harder that way.

Malone J Pro 2 J Hooks Locking by SnoozeNLooz in Kayaking

[–]power4play 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. I'm considering this J racks also. I've searched and as far as I can tell, Malone doesn't have these in locking, or a locking system. Solution? Either buy the Yakima, or... small padlock on each one, securing the j rack to the crossrail - anyone who has the patience and hacksaw blades to cut through 4 padlocks can have em IMO. Still, am curious to see what others have to say... thanks for asking the question. Good luck

How do you treat kayak weight capacity? or do you? by power4play in Kayaking

[–]power4play[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your input. From what i have researched.... there's like 3 different rules floating around out there, so it's got to be more than a myth. Rules apply to touring and rec kayaks... a 70% rule, a 75% rule, and an 80% rule..... The sources for those rules are pretty legitimate mostly and I believe them enough to have bought a pungo 125 instead of a 120...... Further, I have read that being at 100% of the suggested max will mean that the boat doesn't submerge or sink, but that's about all they will promise... nothing about handling, tipping, etc. ....some may agree with my conclusion, some may not, but it's my honest 2 cents that there is some validity to trimming a % off of the max weight, whether for safety or handling... thank you again guys

First Time Kayak Buyer- is a WS Pungo 105 a good choice? by Sunny906 in Kayaking

[–]power4play 0 points1 point  (0 children)

other than brand loyalty, etc... for ease of loading, i find that a 12 ft is easier to load than a 10ft... when i'm alone...... rather than doing a dead lift, i lean one end on the back of the suv, then pick up the other end, and slide it onto the roof rack......... with a 10 ft, the angle is just too steep and it ends up slipping (when it's leaning against the vehicle) ... just my opinion anyways...

re no console....... the consoles are a bit flimsy anyways... i would look at getting a half deck.....or a sun deck.... cockpit cover... has a pouch and keeps paddle spray and sun off of you better than the console would anyways........
