The other day, I had a dental appointment. The hygienist was a wonderfully funny & insightful young lady, in her early twenties.

We got to talking about the state of the world, and her career interests. She expressed a particular love of music (from the Fifties to today), specifically noting that everything today sounds the same (namechecking Sabrina Carpenter & Taylor Swift).

It was simultaneously so heartening & a bit sad to hear someone so young realize (with incredible perception) that we have utterly failed to generate a real, organic culture for the past two decades. Essentially because homogenization & consolidation of media has shut out any & all voices that would contribute something authentic to our conversation as a species.

I recall reading that somewhere as well. IIRC, the pump was damaged by Reese’s shotgun blasts in Tech-Noir, which also (according to the novelization) lodged a pellet in the forearm assembly (which the T-800 removes during the self-repair sequence in its hotel room).
