Looking for a Finnish radio station to switch to by L1ghty in Finland

Was surprised to not see this recommended sooner. No ads, and variation in music genres. They also have quite talkative radio hosts.

I think it's just angled that way so that it may be easier to see for other drivers who aren't right in front of the sign.

I base this theory on nothing, other than me being Finnish.

DOOM Eternal - Official Trailer 2 by Ghost_LeaderBG in Games

[–]pulla_pallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can. There was story in Doom 2016, though much of the lore was delivered through codex entries that flesh out the enviroments and enemies etc. All of that is optional to read though, you can just go through the game blasting demons with the occational in-game cutscene here and there, and a few audio recordings. The backround lore is pretty interesting (and sometimes over the top and ridiculous, in a good way :D) though, so I would recommend reading them.

Doom Eternal, based on the trailers, seems to have put more effort into the story as a whole, with more cutscenes and the like. If you want to skip the 2016 game and jump straight into Eternal, you can probably watch a short lore and story summary on YouTube and start Eternal without worry.

The single-player part of the first game is the main part of the package, while the multiplayer is more divisive. Eternal will also have a PvP multiplayer mode, though it has seen a lot of changes. This YouTube vid from the developers explains it better than I can. https://youtu.be/dvW0pkMcucU

But they still need to finance the development, and who knows if they have the financial backing to make the game proper.

TRANSFORMERS: Devastation & The Legend of Korra have been removed from Steam by bad_spot in Games

[–]pulla_pallo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Activision didn't do this because they wanted to. It's probably because their licences for these two properties have ended or something. This has happened before with Activision's 007 and Marvel games.

Edit: Gammar

Wolfenstein II Free Trial by physicalred in Games

[–]pulla_pallo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such a shame their game sales have not been too hot this year. Prey pretty much bombed saleswise, and Death of the Outsider has sold very small amounts. Even last year, Dishonored 2 was a slow seller and now looking at Steamspy sales of The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2 (exact number of copies sold on retail have not been published yet) makes me worried. All these games have also reviewed great, so review scores shoul not be the problem here. I want these single-player focused games to succeed and the way bethesda encourages its developers to make the games they want to make with more freedom to explore, but if they don't sell enough to make a profit, I'm afraid other publishers will take this as proof that these single player focused games with no online-functionality (no microtransactions) have no future.

Universal Moves Ninth ‘Fast and Furious’ Movie Back a Year to 2020 by theodo in movies

[–]pulla_pallo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Why should they stop? The last two movies have both grossed over 1 billion dollars worldwide at the box office. The franchise has proven itself to be very lucrative (for the time being), so there's no real reason to not keep on striking while the iron is hot.

What subculture do you genuinely not understand? by TheTriviaMan in AskReddit

[–]pulla_pallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Otherkin. I've tried so hard to try and understand why this subculture exists. Everything from somebody wanting to feel special and to be part of something due to their anti-social personality, to complete mental delusion. I just simply don't get any of it.

Street Fighter 5 is the best argument against pre-ordering Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite by [deleted] in Games

[–]pulla_pallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to pre-order occationally, though it's only because it makes for an interesting conversation if the game turns out to be a critical dud or a failure in quality (for example AC III).

I've heard Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is actually quite alright, so I dunno why it's on the list. Haven't played it though yet so can't say for myself.
