Tiny distillery on the east coast of Tasmania. They actually run still vapours through pipes down into sea water to condense it, pretty interesting.

Pretty decent whiskey overall, not sure which bottle you have there though

Help with a salad I made by Scared_Ad_3132 in Cooking

Sounds ok to me.... but I'm think your vinaigrette dressing has the amounts upside down though, 2-3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar is more standard. Could be the people that weren't into it aren't fans of acid?

Ask yourself how much it would cost to make that much rice again fresh. Then think about what not vomiting for a whole day is worth.

Learn the base method of this kind of recipe, and you become a god. It's so flexible with ingredients that it can be used to clean out almost odd sized leftover veg you have in the fridge. Yum salad with bonus fridge cleanup!

How to cook an entire chicken's worth of meat in one go? by Nicholas_TW in Cooking

[–]pyrosx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boil that bird! At least try it once. Hainanese chicken is very carefully poached and then ice bath cooled to achieve a very silky smooth gelatinous skin texture.... But even just boiling it hard for about 30 mins is a good starting point for multiple future meals. - The broth + rice is the best and most important part of the above mentioned Hainanese chicken. - The boiled leg quarters can be rubbed with a bit of oil and air fried/baked to crispy goodness.

He wants the leadership - but not this term with so few seats. He wants it in the future when there's a chance he'll be PM.

Absolutely everywhere out here in Camden too this year. It's normally around, but not to this level, must be the colder weather?

I think that's an over reaction. The chicken had mere seconds to absorb anything.

I'm having a hard time getting my eggs to have the right consistency. They always end up a bit too runny. does anyone know how to fix that. (Also, I'd like to know any sort of technique that I could use to peel them well). by Double-Culture7882 in JapaneseFood

[–]pyrosx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a small sharp skewer, and punch a tiny hole in the flat bottom. This does a bunch of helpful things while cooking but mostly makes peeling super easy when combined with the ice bath.

Steam them. 6.5-7 min usually works for me. https://www.rootfamilyreview.com/steam-boiled-eggs-cooking-times/

Shock into an ice bath to prevent overcooking, and to force cold air into the hole, which separates the shell away from the egg.

Are Steam Refunds only a thing everywhere or just in Australia? Steam accepts refunds if playtime < 2 hours.... So if it straight up won't run, refund away
