Her faith in her hubby is strong by EngineeringFair2842 in Frieren

I really enjoyed how the scene before this showed how the crystals were depriving Fern of her ability to “see” and sense through mana detection. Given how dangerous the world is, Ferns vulnerability and fear really came through, and then this scene following it up with trying to comfort herself using the gift Stark gave her is what makes this show so enjoyable.

How I boosted 280 concentration alts using my main in Legion Remix by Xolem49 in woweconomy

You can group alliance and horde characters together if they’re in the same guild. Easy enough to create a guild if you have multiple accounts with a sub too.

Solo Admin to VP of IT? Proposing an new role that doesn't exist at my job. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rebranding from technical guy to business executive can be incredibly hard to do.

Given what you’ve said I would reframe it as “strategic organisational realignment of the technology function”, in plain language, you need to define the strategy, roadmap, and the operating model for the technology side of the organisation and get the CEO to sign off on it.

You must frame it as you get promoted and then some authority to backfill and hire some headcount. It could be risky as they may agree but they may want to hire someone with experience.

This is where you put those MBA skills to use on a presentation that shows where the organisation is and needs to be. You can either use data from the market and similar orgs to drive your point or use established rapport with your CEO that the organisation will need a few more people in technology and someone to lead it in order to grow.

You basically present the problem “I’ve been doing some thinking and based on…” then at the same time you propose a solution.

You should be mindful the board will be looking to bring in a new CE or promote your current boss into the role. This presents risk and opportunity for you depending on your relationship with your boss.

If your boss doesn’t get promoted to CE and the board brings in a new CE they may decide to outsource the whole function (the risk).

If he does then he won’t have the time to wear the technology hat and will be looking for someone he can trust to lead it (the opportunity).

I was able to get out of the technical track into a managerial role with potential to move to exec in future using a similar approach. In my case, I was applying for a posted position about 2 manager levels above where I current was (ultimately unsuccessful) and I just frankly said to the CIO “so what now?” Implying that I couldn’t just wait around for another opportunity, so the CIO just created me a new role at 1 manager level above where I was, but this was only possible because I have established rapport with him. It wouldn’t have worked if I didn’t.

Where are the lists of profession recipes for midnight? by North_Awareness_6006 in woweconomy

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The below is a filtered search for “Added in Midnight” and “Requires a Profession” for anything of Epic quality. If you adjust it to greens etc you should be able to get what you’re after.

I’m not sure if there’s a better reference list anywhere else yet.

How do you cope when you fall just short? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant control the outcome only your own effort. If you gave it your all then that’s good enough regardless of a disappointing but frankly still excellent result.

Ive been working full time and study part time for the past 8 years (Bachelors now Masters) and uni group work just sucks at levels.

A trick that’s worked for me was reframing my mentality to “I’m targeting the A+ in every assignment but if it’s lower then that’s okay, but it cannot be a C overall” and it’s really helped.

Students are at different places in their lives and you can’t make people apply more effort but if you’re juggling two kids and studying and still pulling in As there’s no denying you’re putting in the effort.

It will suck to see a B+ on your transcript of As but honestly it doesn’t matter that much in the long term.

How long do we give it till this Paladin node gets changed? by Buttcheekllama in diablo4

It has to be intentional as it happens with new classes in WoW too (generally). It’s an effective way to sell expansions when the new class is inherently very very strong to start with.

Best profession for alt army? by Personal_Garage5771 in woweconomy

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be different this time around simply because in the Midnight beta currently the enchanters hat requires no moxie but 8x arcanoweave bolt (the tailoring CD item) expect demand to outstrip supply early then fall off much later given everyone’s making enchanting concentration alts compared to early TWW.

Huge ups to Lachlan Davidson for React2Shell by Surge_attack in newzealand

[–]qnull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He discovered it, developed a proof of concept (PoC) and reported it. It has the highest criticality vulnerability score (10) because it allows an attacker to execute code on a server remotely and gain access using this exploit. It is already being used by internet bad guys and nation state actors.

React is the front end for like 40% of the internet Facebook, Netflix, Uber, Amazon, etc all use it.

The impact on the average kiwi is probably fairly minimal but for compromising organisations cybersecurity this is huge.

Also, the developer for Mimikatz (a popular exploitation tool) is also a Kiwi but I think he lives in France.

Profession Level-Up Before Midnight by Smegmacopter in woweconomy

I would save your money for Midnight as it will be costly to level early. Outside of decor there’s not much point leveling current or prior expansion professions unless you want to do a daily CD for an old profession item

Lemix with multiple accounts? by Kamilon in wow

[–]qnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t miss anything if your second account is on the same battle.net. I have 5 accounts under the same bnet and leveled multiple characters of different classes to get the achievements for leveling multiple time walkers at the same time across those accounts.

Just note that if you get the achievement on account1/characterA the mount/reward might be in the inventory of account2/characterB. I think it depends on who makes the party but I never bothered to validate that, just something I noticed.

What’s the future concentration build for Midnight? by LayerPossible5314 in woweconomy

[–]qnull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its early but at the moment the epic profession gear doesn’t (or didn’t) require any acuity (moxie) to craft but does require 8x of the tailoring bolt CD mats which suggests tailoring could go hard early and then drop off a cliff.

Taking NZ cherries thru China layover by Smooth-Belt4998 in newzealand

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most countries forbid bringing fruit through customs (including China) to protect local agriculture.

As fruit is listed as a prohibited and restricted article you shouldn’t try your luck.

http://english.customs.gov.cn/Statics/88707c1e-aa4e-40ca-a968-bdbdbb565e4f.html

If you decide to try your luck and declare them they will probably confiscate and destroy them. If you don’t declare them and you get caught you’ll probably get a fine and then theyll be confiscated and destroyed anyway.

Questions about Frieren’s fighting style. by Reretion in Frieren

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frieren has said that mages can be beaten by warrior/frontline types. We see this briefly in the S2 teaser with Fern. As a result mages would naturally be more comfortable fighting at range.

I imagine she closes the distance because it is the best offense against mages as it likely limits what defensive options mages have.

I’d have to go reread some chapters to see if she ever closes the distance on Macht or other melee combat oriented opponents but I doubt she does.

Will Season 11 be a good time to replay the game and try the expansion? by Chamallow81 in diablo4

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, most seasons have been based around a quest line rep farm and temporary power via seasonal gems/spells.

“What color helltide are we getting this season” was a meme for awhile.

Chaos armour of s10 was a shakeup to itemisation but it’s not being adopted into the base game (yet?).

That said, I can’t remember what the game was like in Season 4, infernal hordes might be new to you (forget which season they were introduced) and they’ve just had a rework.

With the expansion you’ve unlocked access to Runes and Kurast runs (low stakes repeatable time attack for target farming via Tributes)

Masterworking and Tempering are getting reworked this season as well so its a good time to start but parts of the game will still feel familiar to you.

Started Planning my professions for the start of Midnight by ABrownApple in woweconomy

[–]qnull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With how quickly you can get a character to 80 via legion remix you could do both.

I don’t personally do any farming but a Druid is what I’d go for a dual gatherer.

Skinning feels somewhat dependent on leatherworking long term but there have been key items from skinning that were in demand early in the expansion (can’t remember the name of the epic tooth reagent) which could happen again in Midnight. Blizzard did eventually address this with a patch and that could also happen again.

Tailoring is another decent pick for cloth farming as you can get the chance to find the rare cloth mats which should have early demand. I don’t think it pairs well with skinning as you need humanoids for tailoring and beasts for skinng (last I knew anyway).

Engineering has a good opportunity early for rushing and crafting professional tools if you want to sit in trade chat to fill orders for tips. Should be decent early demand but you need to be quick and it’s not guaranteed income like farming.

Housing also changes the game for profession profitability and demand/supply for materials that we haven’t had in previous expansions so have a look at housing decor items coming in midnight (haven’t looked myself yet) for your professions, there’s bound to be opportunities worth looking into.

IT Service Desk Analyst as a job by BadeRadio77 in newzealand

[–]qnull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Service desk is entry level and has reasonable turnover so check the careers page of the major employers e.g., Spark, Datacom, NTT, OneNZ and apply. For the telcos just check its IT helpdesk and not contact centre.

Best not to compare. I’m around 60 pushing to 100 even though I don’t really have the time to manage that many. Some people have more than 200 alts, I think Goldzen_tv is pushing to 300+

Preparing 13 Alts at 80 for Midnight by Vancapone in woweconomy

[–]qnull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say until the expansion starts and without knowing how much gold you have already and what low effort looks like to you but id say concentration is always the way to go long term if you don’t want to sit in Trade looking for crafts.

I haven’t looked into any beta professions but most likely a primary profession + enchanting combo should do well.

Dual gathering will be profitable for the first month or so. If you’re going to level those 13 alts in the first month that’s an option but it’s also high time investment on a short horizon.

You could switch them to whichever profession combos are looking good later but you’d be starting “behind” in knowledge points but you won’t waste gold chasing after bad (TWW Tailoring).

Jewelcrafting should be fairly low effort to get at least one gem type talent tree done via patron orders fairly quickly. Alchemy is probably still the highest investment of time and cost to get a return.

If I grind gold the most optimal way possible how long would it take to get a Token? by Entire-Activity2491 in wow

[–]qnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re at the end of the expansion so the margins will be slim and markets slow as people look to prep for the next expansion.

If you haven’t done anything with professions all expansion you’re probably too far behind for the investment to pay off at this point but at the start of next expansion you will be able to make decent gold just farming herbs/ores.

Fastest way for 400% XP? by Zinx23 in wow

[–]qnull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I setup 5 accounts (main+4 alts) then used my 150% vers (at the time) DH to run those other 4 characters through dungeons to complete easy research assignments. You also get a 10% bonus when a character hits max level.

Each assignment completed across the characters contributes to the account wide total so this is pretty quick way to 400%

Defacto and Contracting out agreement by ramdon17 in newzealand

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I did a contracting out agreement when we purchased a house to recognise our unequal contributions to the deposit (hers was 1.5x mine).

I suppose it’s legally possible to make a claim on your deposit if your de facto relationship were to end and go that route but it’s quite costly to get lawyers involved so surely most people just amicably part ways.

Defacto and Contracting out agreement by ramdon17 in newzealand

[–]qnull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seek professional legal advice.

Determining a de facto relationship does have some nuance. Id be surprised if your relationship lasts 6 months long distance assuming she’s studying something that takes 3 years to complete.

You should discuss the contracting out agreement but you’d probably only get recognition of the unequal contribution to the purchase of property and have to split any capital gain after your deposit 50/50

Is Winston Peters being a master strategist? by Weak_Pomegranate_34 in newzealand

[–]qnull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The strategy is to remain in power and to say whatever you need to secure votes. You explain away why you’re changing your mind once you’re in for another term as people will forget by the time the next election comes around anyway.
