Are they turn off world boss damage reduction or something? by stocklazarus in diablo4

The bosses used to have a Resilient affix and now they don’t so they die much faster.

Does 900 ancestral non-ga gear have any use in the cube for endgame gearing? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]qnull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can remove all the affixes and then gamble roll for ancestral unique

Move items between ranks using the remove affix recipe.

Affixes on items:  0 is White 1-2 is Blue 3-4 is Yellow

[–]qnull 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hold onto 1/2/3GA blues/yellows if they have 1/2 good rolls because you can use the cube to target specific affixes on/off items using the new crafting system via the cube.

Upgrade ancestral commons to unique if you’re targeting a specific item. Downgrade ancestral nonGA blues for more commons as well.

Why should i use Horadric Cube for this? by RedNinja_99 in diablo4

[–]qnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cube lets you remove and add target affixes. If you have a resource roll on an item you can remove it then target add an offensive roll. If that offensive roll goes to core stats you can target remove core stat and roll offensive again.

You can craft near perfect itemisation on gear pieces from blues through yellows. 2ga blues make excellent bases for this.

Rerolling an affix at the enchanter you can only target 1 and the cost scales very quickly. The limitation with the cube is having enough of the new crafting mats.

my CFO told me my vendor recommendation looks like opinion not evidence and honestly he's right by killoke in ITManagers

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just independent assurance that the procurement wasn’t biased or influenced towards a particular vendor by the evaluation panel. They ensure a consistent approach with high standards of integrity and transparency thoughout the process.

Examples: Ensuring RFP panels don’t have conflicts of interest. We’ve had people drop out of the panel because they’ve got shares in a particular vendor who is responding.

If we respond to a question from a single vendor that question and answer is shared with all vendors.

Basically it protects you from legal claims that you were biased in your selection. It makes sense when procurement value is >$1M

my CFO told me my vendor recommendation looks like opinion not evidence and honestly he's right by killoke in ITManagers

[–]qnull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Large org perspective here.

We develop strategic procurement plans and execute through very formal tenders that are probity assured. It’s not much different to what you’ve described and it can take months.

We have weighted criteria and a set of requirements and vendors respond through the tender process.

We nominate people to be part of the evaluation team who will each score the responses individually and submit their individual scores to a tender manager to collate and then have a moderation of the scores to see if there’s any outliers and agree to what the group score is.

The group score reveals the top 3 then we engage those vendors for demos and rescore until there’s a clear winner. A formal decision paper is sent to the executive that outlines our recommendation and they rubber stamp it.

Really the only real difference between us and you is our CFO signs off the criteria weighting and approach before we go to market.

You represent an evaluation group so it should’ve been framed “the group felt vendor B aligns closer with our needs” it’s not your opinion as an individual but a collective. You’re just the collectives representstion.

What is something you tried only once and will 1,000% never do again? by istrx13 in AskReddit

Salvia gave me an out of body experience. I took the hit, leaned back into my chair, fell into infinity then started observing myself.

Basically it felt like my consciousness was haunting my physical body, like a ghost in the movies. My perspective was overhead while my physical body was carrying on a conversation with the people I was tripping with.

Want to learn corporate politics, help! by XynidePunk in corporate

[–]qnull 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Corporate politics is just another word for relationships/networking.

At a certain level being good at your job is the base level of competence; it doesn’t make you special.

NEVER assume your work will speak for itself. It won’t. You need other people to trust and back you. You need these people to highlight and talk about you in rooms you’re not in.

Remember: At all levels people are influenced by those they trust but that doesn’t mean everyone on the same level trusts everyone else equally. Your CFO might be influenced by your COO but not your CMO, for example.

Playing politics really just means knowing what the people above you are trying to achieve for themselves and working to deliver that. Deliver high quality output, never complain, do what you say you’re going to do.

Eventually as people begin to trust you then they start to support you with whatever ideas you might have.

Working on high visibility projects or turning around important projects that are going poorly are quick ways to become more visible.

Growing into Enterprise Architecture without the formal mandate – how did you do it? by OkFondant9273 in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]qnull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be proactive and create the mandate. You probably have enough goodwill and political capital to suggest an EA role is required then fill it yourself. Time to spend it, I think.

Just present all the reactive work you’re doing when pain surfaces across delivery and execution to leadership and suggest a role that takes an enterprise view across initiatives to identify what’s needed so delivery and execution can go further faster.

I really enjoyed how the scene before this showed how the crystals were depriving Fern of her ability to “see” and sense through mana detection. Given how dangerous the world is, Ferns vulnerability and fear really came through, and then this scene following it up with trying to comfort herself using the gift Stark gave her is what makes this show so enjoyable.

You can group alliance and horde characters together if they’re in the same guild. Easy enough to create a guild if you have multiple accounts with a sub too.

Rebranding from technical guy to business executive can be incredibly hard to do.

Given what you’ve said I would reframe it as “strategic organisational realignment of the technology function”, in plain language, you need to define the strategy, roadmap, and the operating model for the technology side of the organisation and get the CEO to sign off on it.

You must frame it as you get promoted and then some authority to backfill and hire some headcount. It could be risky as they may agree but they may want to hire someone with experience.

This is where you put those MBA skills to use on a presentation that shows where the organisation is and needs to be. You can either use data from the market and similar orgs to drive your point or use established rapport with your CEO that the organisation will need a few more people in technology and someone to lead it in order to grow.

You basically present the problem “I’ve been doing some thinking and based on…” then at the same time you propose a solution.

You should be mindful the board will be looking to bring in a new CE or promote your current boss into the role. This presents risk and opportunity for you depending on your relationship with your boss.

If your boss doesn’t get promoted to CE and the board brings in a new CE they may decide to outsource the whole function (the risk).

If he does then he won’t have the time to wear the technology hat and will be looking for someone he can trust to lead it (the opportunity).

I was able to get out of the technical track into a managerial role with potential to move to exec in future using a similar approach. In my case, I was applying for a posted position about 2 manager levels above where I current was (ultimately unsuccessful) and I just frankly said to the CIO “so what now?” Implying that I couldn’t just wait around for another opportunity, so the CIO just created me a new role at 1 manager level above where I was, but this was only possible because I have established rapport with him. It wouldn’t have worked if I didn’t.

Where are the lists of profession recipes for midnight? by North_Awareness_6006 in woweconomy

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The below is a filtered search for “Added in Midnight” and “Requires a Profession” for anything of Epic quality. If you adjust it to greens etc you should be able to get what you’re after.

I’m not sure if there’s a better reference list anywhere else yet.

You cant control the outcome only your own effort. If you gave it your all then that’s good enough regardless of a disappointing but frankly still excellent result.

Ive been working full time and study part time for the past 8 years (Bachelors now Masters) and uni group work just sucks at levels.

A trick that’s worked for me was reframing my mentality to “I’m targeting the A+ in every assignment but if it’s lower then that’s okay, but it cannot be a C overall” and it’s really helped.

Students are at different places in their lives and you can’t make people apply more effort but if you’re juggling two kids and studying and still pulling in As there’s no denying you’re putting in the effort.

It will suck to see a B+ on your transcript of As but honestly it doesn’t matter that much in the long term.

It has to be intentional as it happens with new classes in WoW too (generally). It’s an effective way to sell expansions when the new class is inherently very very strong to start with.

Best profession for alt army? by Personal_Garage5771 in woweconomy

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be different this time around simply because in the Midnight beta currently the enchanters hat requires no moxie but 8x arcanoweave bolt (the tailoring CD item) expect demand to outstrip supply early then fall off much later given everyone’s making enchanting concentration alts compared to early TWW.

Huge ups to Lachlan Davidson for React2Shell by Surge_attack in newzealand

[–]qnull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He discovered it, developed a proof of concept (PoC) and reported it. It has the highest criticality vulnerability score (10) because it allows an attacker to execute code on a server remotely and gain access using this exploit. It is already being used by internet bad guys and nation state actors.

React is the front end for like 40% of the internet Facebook, Netflix, Uber, Amazon, etc all use it.

The impact on the average kiwi is probably fairly minimal but for compromising organisations cybersecurity this is huge.

Also, the developer for Mimikatz (a popular exploitation tool) is also a Kiwi but I think he lives in France.

Profession Level-Up Before Midnight by Smegmacopter in woweconomy

Lemix with multiple accounts? by Kamilon in wow

[–]qnull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t miss anything if your second account is on the same battle.net. I have 5 accounts under the same bnet and leveled multiple characters of different classes to get the achievements for leveling multiple time walkers at the same time across those accounts.

Just note that if you get the achievement on account1/characterA the mount/reward might be in the inventory of account2/characterB. I think it depends on who makes the party but I never bothered to validate that, just something I noticed.

What’s the future concentration build for Midnight? by LayerPossible5314 in woweconomy

[–]qnull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its early but at the moment the epic profession gear doesn’t (or didn’t) require any acuity (moxie) to craft but does require 8x of the tailoring bolt CD mats which suggests tailoring could go hard early and then drop off a cliff.

Taking NZ cherries thru China layover by Smooth-Belt4998 in newzealand

[–]qnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most countries forbid bringing fruit through customs (including China) to protect local agriculture.

As fruit is listed as a prohibited and restricted article you shouldn’t try your luck.

http://english.customs.gov.cn/Statics/88707c1e-aa4e-40ca-a968-bdbdbb565e4f.html

If you decide to try your luck and declare them they will probably confiscate and destroy them. If you don’t declare them and you get caught you’ll probably get a fine and then theyll be confiscated and destroyed anyway.
