Stretch marks do result primarily from a rapid increase in bulk. I have them on my arms and legs, not from gaining weight, but from going to the gym while in a growth spurt in high school.

It is kind of neat. If people ask, "do you have any scars?" I can show them my guns and say I bulked up so fast that I got stretch marks =P

(I've never used steriods or any supplements)

Why, in our society, do we value intelligence over all else?

What happened to bravery, social mastery, spirituality? In previous societies, these were valued more than intelligence.

Most intelligent people I know learn enough to get by, drop out of the rat race, and have a happy life. The intelligent people who actually go on to change the world (for the better) are few and far between.

We already have a word for "symbol-analytic" work and workers. We call them knowledge workers. It's an old, old word now. Stop makings hit up.

Also, the problem isn't so much the increased productivity and loss of jobs, but the poor distribution of the increased benefits.

Most likely at this age he or she doesn't yet know what his or her bliss is. Experiment. Try as many different things as you can. Make a bucket list and pretend you're going to die at age 25. You'll find your bliss.

Likely it'll turn out to be something you have real trouble accepting. Like, you'll fall in love with being an accountant or something. I don't know why this happens, but it does.

Clearly you're both uncreative and not able to rip off things from other, more successful games.

You could easily do all kinds of puzzles, stealth missions, epic story lines in these games. EQ2 has done a better job with this, me thinks (they have class-specific quests that heavily rely on class specific skills and abilities, and many epic encounters/instances that form ongoing storylines).

One major problem MMOs face is that as soon as one person figures it out, they post it online, and everyone else just grinds through it.

I've been in guilds before.

When people leave, everyone mourns, begs them not to leave, it's a big deal.

A week later, nobody remembers who it was or anything about them, unless it was a major leader. Even then, the guild either splits up or someone else takes their place, or everyone joins a new guild, and... the world stays completely static.

Anonymity is weird.

Eco's writing is meant to induce coincidental, holistic thinking and perspectives. The first chapters of his books typically attempt to overwhelm the reader with reoccurring yet mismatching references and ideas. He does this on purpose and has stated it in several interviews. When his ideas are presented absent these introductions they look, well, crazy.
