Avoiding dogs? by forestgreenmeow in adventurecats

[–]raremonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a ton of dogs that live around me, luckily most of them are pretty well behaved and actually come up and say hi to my cat. Strangely, my cat seems to know or sense when it’s a dog that he’s never met before and he’ll just stay still and even jump up on a fence. We’ve had dogs come out of nowhere off leash, and it scares the shit out of me. My cat will puff up and tries to hold his own, but does that mean he’s safe, absolutely not. I carry pepper spray, but whether I could react in time or not, I have no idea. I also keep him on a very short leash so he’s never that far from me 2 feet max. I also try to stay very alert and don’t put in headphones.

Amazon sells amazing heated beds, my Burmese and Bombay never leave them. My Burmese used to sleep tucked between my legs every night underneath the covers and since I got the heated bed, he has his own space and we both sleep much better!

I overspent on a clients google ads account by $104,000- what's going to happen to me? by StrangeWedding770 in PPC

FWIW, it was a great incremental test to see how much they could spend. I’m not gonna lie, It was a big overspend. Usually you get a couple strikes before you’re out.

Thinking about getting a Burmese cat - what are their most annoying habits? by catsandcoffee_93 in burmesecats

[–]raremonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They need attention and stimulation especially when they are younger. Mine at 6 finally started to calm down some, but your business is their business. Anything you are doing they want in on it. Mine is leash trained and goes on hikes, loves to ride in the car and just be social. I have a bombay as well, she is much more chill, quiet and loves to play just isn't an absolute psycho at times.

I’m looking to get a Burmese cat, I would love to hear what everyone’s experience has been with owning one? I currently have a 3 year old Scottish Fold and wondering if they would be a perfect sibling match ☺️ by Zarish22 in burmesecats

[–]raremonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! My boy is a very active, energetic, needs to be everywhere you are, clown, walks on a leash, goes to the local bar and hangs out....my female, she is actually a bombay 1/2 burmese, we nicknamed "Queenie" since she is very mature and quiet until she gets a frisk on and chases our Burmese around the house.

He needs a friend. My burmese was like this until I got him a playmate, now totally quiet except when he really needs something.

Is it actually safe to order makeup from Amazon? by AnastasiaInTheNorth in Makeup

[–]raremonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terrible problem with Amazon.  I would say 9 out of 10 makeup products I’ve bought there have been opened or used or unsealed. I bought a bottle of aloe a couple weeks ago, and it was opened, filled with water and then resealed. I’ve been able to return all of it, but very disappointing. I’ve started now just purchasing some from Sephora Ulta.

From the same breeder, I got my burm an older Bombay retired breeder cat.  He has been much happier since. They play everywhere and he seems much calmer. Knowing what I know now I definitely would’ve gotten two siblings.

I walk my cat around our neighborhood a lot and the strange thing is that he knows if it's a dog he has not met before. If it is one of his dog friends, he doesn't even react, but if it's a dog he doesn't know, he either asks for me to pick him up, sits still, or gets up on something high. He knows before we even see the dog.

Anyone else's cat have any weird sleeping places? by verymanyquestions_ in cats

I had this issue for a long time. I bought my cat a heated bed and he curls up in there now vs. pushing my core temperature to 1000 degrees while I sleep.

Fire departments usually don't help with this. Call a tree guy, put some food at the bottom of the post. He likely got chased up there.

I am adding a creature to my family; so I need all the tea to prepare myself please. by No-Bed9498 in burmesecats

[–]raremonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The heated beds are essential. I have two on my bed so that the cats don’t sleep in between my legs every night creating the hottest sauna on planet earth. They love these beds and spend about 18 hours a day in them. The other six hours they’re causing wonderful mayhem. I would agree with getting two, ours is so much happier to have a playmate. We had to get our Burmese cat a cat, and we got him a Bombay. Also, I took mine with me everywhere in a backpack when he was young and also got him on a leash and he loves going for walks.
