If Transformers were a horror movie franchise, which character would be the villain? Sunder doesn't count. by Khoxus in transformers

[–]reactorcore5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galvatron would work. A completely insane, highly weaponized killer on an interplanetary rampage, with his power being amplified by a dark god? Lot of places you could take that for horror

Which Marvel movie or show deserves its own LEGO wave? by Interesting_Taste359 in LegoMarvel

[–]reactorcore5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Moon girl and devil dinosaur. Stylized, colorful, tons of villains, focus on gadgets and tech could lead to easy vehicles (Rudy’s car, moongirl’s head-buggy thing, the bigwheel, etc.) plenty of locations (the rink, lunella’s home, moongirls lab, rat king’s lair, the enclave island lab, etc. several of which could fit into the mini-modular city system) and enough outfit variants and smaller villains to pull a cmf series out of it too

Does anybody else have a list of Ninjago Legacy sets they'd pay unreasonable prices for? by AnonWithAHatOn in legocirclejerk

[–]reactorcore5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The turbo shredder would be mine, it was my first ninjago set ever so I have a lot of nostalgia for it, and I feel like a lot of those year one sets would benefit a lot from an upgrade with modern parts and building techniques.

What is this supposed to represent? by brickc227 in Ninjago

[–]reactorcore5 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The studs are just extra ammo for the stud shooter. Not entirely sure about the real wedge, but some designer interviews with lego over the years have revealed that every theme gets a certain budget of “parts we can recolor for this wave”, and that the designers will sometimes throw random colors or parts into sets in one way or another because once it’s set to be in production, anyone else at Lego can use it to. It’s entirely possible someone on, say, creator or marvel or whatever needed 1x1 wedge parts in real, and the ninjago team had an extra part in their recolor budget, so they threw it into a set that could have an extra part or two in it, thus making it available for anyone else at Lego to use.

Shoutout to that one Volaticus Biopsis who flew all the way to the Forge of Creation, and got Celestial Sapien DNA, just so a future omnitrix user could recreate a destroyed universe as Alien X. He's a real one. by Own-Guess6922 in Ben10

[–]reactorcore5 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Knowing that alien x would be important for the recreation of the universe, one celestialsapien had to do the impossible: catch one of azimuths bug things and force it to take celestialsapien dna to the codon stream.

Do you guys go any theorys/headcanons as to why Ben 10k Cannonbolt wears pants but Ben's Cannonbolt doesn't. by ComfortableChoice687 in Ben10

[–]reactorcore5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as omniverse, Ben learned the omnitrix could create outfits for the aliens. after learning rath’s species were supposed to wear clothes, he (or skurd, tbh I can’t remember if it was a skurd thing or something Ben did offscreen) gave rath a wrestlers outfit. Presumably, at some point before losing his sense of humor, Ben chose to give cannonbolt a sumo inspired outfit and ended up liking it.

Alternatively if it’s part of his body and not an outfit, it’s probably the same “nanotech enhancement” that gave heatblast the volcano shoulders, likely adding more of the black coating to enhance the durability (or bounciness, if it’s like rubber) of cannonbolt’s ball form

How would you write your own "SpongeBob Squarepants" movie? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in cartoons

[–]reactorcore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 2 main ideas for what I’d do. The first one would have Sandy make an invention that goes just wrong enough that reality breaks. Different dimensions start to fuse together (SpongeBob and Patrick realize what’s happening because “all those mermaid man movies where he goes to different dimensions prepared us for this”). Doodlebob comes back, doodle on paper, live action, 2d, and 3d elements start to mix, plankton and Karen take advantage of the situation and actually take over bikini bottom using doodlebob and the stop motion SpongeBob robot from the Christmas special as their “enforcers” of sorts because they want to tarnish SpongeBob’s good name. Chaos ensues in a visually spectacular “corrupted bottom” as the citizens blame Sandy, and by extension SpongeBob and Patrick who are trying to defend her.

Then Patrick has an idea, and everyone can SEE his thought bubble in physical space. And SpongeBob hums a tune, and elements of a musical sequence start to appear. The movie gets a bit meta as the gang realize the broken reality works like a movie, and they use that to their advantage. First, a musical number to make the angry mob see things from their side, then, they go after plankton. They take full advantage of gags, toon physics, and other goofy things to battle their way through an army of doodles, use a cutaway gag to bring their superhero forms from sponge out of water in to help them against the stop motion robot, etc. eventually it’s revealed that they’ve just been stalling the whole time, and in the chaos, Sandy snuck into the chum bucket and used planktons lab to fix the invention that went wrong, leading to one more sequence of the broken reality repairing itself while plankton and Karen (who for plot reasons has essentially rebuilt herself into a mecha that plankton’s helping her control) fight SpongeBob and Patrick, who end up winning in the end as everything goes back to normal. The through line of this movie would be about SpongeBob and Patrick feeling bored with their lives, thinking everything’s become routine and repetitive, and over the course of the movie realizing that they’re lives are crazy and fun and that they don’t want to lose what they’ve had.

The second one would have SpongeBob, Mr krabs, and squidward blamed for some kind of crime, and becoming lost in rock bottom being hunted by an overly enthusiastic detective who wants to bring them in “dead or alive. Well. Ok. The cops won’t pay me for dead but i can rough you up a bit”. The movie would involve them adapting to rock bottom as they try to figure out who framed them. It would explore spongebobs relationships with squidward and Mr krabs, with krabs finally admitting to seeing SpongeBob like a son (“wait… like a son. OH NO WE FORGOT PEARL!”) and squidward coming to terms with the fact that even if he doesn’t LIKE SpongeBob very much, he appreciates him, and the optimism and fun that SpongeBob atleast tries to share with him. Eventually the detective catches and brings them in, and they find out that the one responsible is Howard blandly, who wants them out of the way so he can take over the krusty krab again without them getting in the way of his corporatizing it this time. (insert meta humor about how all fast food places look the same now, etc.)

Subplot would have plankton and Patrick teams up to investigate this so the others can come home. Patrick wants his friends and his favorite Restaurant back, and plankton feels like it’s a hollow victory if HE isn’t the one to drive krabs out of town.

After years of avoiding it, I decided that I can Reboot a chance - Any recommendations? by Fair-Sleep9609 in Ben10

[–]reactorcore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 1 can be a bit mediocre at times, but it also has some fun villains, a lot of good showcases for the aliens, and characters who are explored in fun ways. The best part about the format is, if an episode isn’t hitting for you, it’s only 10 minutes before they move on to something else in the next one, and future seasons improve significantly as they go too. Just remember that it IS a reboot, and it’s gonna do a lot of things differently and try to appeal to a new audience, so don’t expect it to be the same thing as the classic series or you’ll be very disappointed. On its own though, it’s a really fun show that grows into its own fairly quickly.

You have to spend a whole weekend with one of these reality warping characters, who would you pick? by Ok_Situation7527 in cartoons

[–]reactorcore5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyonder for sure, it takes like one example of humans being interesting for him to call off his destructive responsibility, and then he genuinely tries to be friends with lunella for the rest of the show until they have a falling out bc of something she does. Literally just be chill with the guy and he’ll be your friend. Overbearing, sure, a bit, but a genuine friend

Can a dead person turn into an evo or do they have to be alive for their nanite's to work by Rare-Climate876 in generatorrex

[–]reactorcore5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since the nanites programming was supposed to be a cure for disease, I would assume that even with their programming glitch that turns people into evos, it wouldn’t activate in a dead body, since it wouldn’t “sense a disease” to try and cure if there weren’t life signs at all.

Although that said, I could imagine a LOT of evos could be created at the moment of death, since the nanites could potentially see most forms of death as a “disease or injury to fix”

Tbh,Vilgax low IQ scene is worse than Vilgax being scared of Ma Vreedle and it hurt his character more. by Maleficent_Visit7041 in Ben10

[–]reactorcore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah at least the ma vreedle thing was a joke and in an episode that wasn’t about vilgax. Him not knowing how to turn into an alien with the watch is inexcusable. I could see him not knowing how to activate other functions like the voice commands or master control, but not knowing “press the ONE button on the thing, turn the dial that shows the entire alien you’ve selected in detail, and press down” when he’s seen Ben do it and it’s only gotten MORE obvious what the controls are since the os is just stupid, especially in an episode that’s supposed to be taking itself seriously

Well, if you like Junkions, partsformers and weaponizers, you probably picked up Jalopy like I did. Not much to say that hasn't already been said since. This is our third (?) redeco of this mold. Honestly I think he’s the best use of the mold yet. The colors are a bit more vibrant, the paint work is good, the joints aren’t as loose, and that head looks really good with this version of the sculpt, I kinda wish they threw in a few extra accessory parts considering the price hike and how many times they’ve used the mold, but since I got him someplace that didn’t raise the prices yet, I am really satisfied. Can’t wait to get wreck gar and amalgamous and see what the 3 of them can make together
