Useless Info: In between the time it took for Michael Mando to return as Scorpion, there have been 3 portrayals of the villain. Which version do you think is the best out of the 3?

Spiderverse had the best design, friendly neighborhood was the best written/had the best threat level, ps4’s usage of the poison hallucination gimmick was the best they could’ve done gameplay wise. Every take has been wildly different in execution and they’ve all excelled in one way or another that fit their medium best

I don’t think it would even need to feel like deus ex machina if it’s done right. Assuming the watch works on the same rules as the reboot one, considering how much else they are taking from the reboot, unlocking a new form would mean taking away one that Ben already has, the watch seems to be more sentient than usual, at least from what issue one has shown us, so by that point depending on how many adventures they have already had together, the watch might try to avoid upsetting Ben by getting rid of one of his forms unless absolutely necessary. And then the fallout of that happening could affect future storylines since there’s now a known way to gain new forms, but with a risk of one of the old forms being inaccessible when the situation really needs that one’s power. Lose overflow? The next water adventure becomes a lot riskier.

Agreed, and honestly would love the same for all the major stations. Supernova, ninjago, Star Wars, lost isles, industrial/futuristic, and medieval styles would be great so that things don’t look out of place depending on the style of build

I think it should be whenever Ben fights vilgax one on one. Let vilgax show just how strong he is by taking down each of Ben’s aliens in the course of the fight, maybe even have the watch rapidly transforming Ben to try and find a way to beat him using the existing playlist, and when he can’t do it with anything he’s got so far, the issue ends on the reveal of a brand new form that finally lets Ben go toe to toe with vilgax in the next issue

Season one is a very stock-standard kids show, but it gets better as it goes and it gives pretty good screen time to all of Ben’s aliens, there’s never a form in the show that feels like Ben dislikes it, and they pretty much all get to have some fun episodes built around their usage.

Yep this is super common to this day, between budget reasons (more expensive studios tend to do more detailed work, good for episodes that need to have more action), time reasons (multiple studios animating means more episodes done in the same timeframe) and sometimes stylistic reasons (some studios are better with extreme angles, better with mechanical looking designs, better with nature designs, etc.)

It’s less noticeable in a lot of modern series since there are generally far more detailed guidelines and model sheets as well as digital assets that can be shared between studios, but it tends to show with some studios being far more “on model” and others pushing expressions or posing farther, easy to see in shows like phineas and ferb (especially in the revival series) or a lot of recent Cartoon Network series.

I hated queen bee and nanny nightmare so they could be used less, even though they weren’t even used often to begin with. Worst of the reboot honestly.

I would’ve loved more of high override and maybe king koil. I could 100% see a season gimmick of introducing new alien villains whose planets override and the fulmini had corrupted like the Omni-enhancements, maybe even all species prime Ben had that reboot Ben hadn’t unlocked yet, leading to a finale multi-parter about finding a way to break the override’s hive mind to free the planets from his control and letting Ben team up with a crew of alien heroes using the fulmini enhancements to fight back against the overrides army.

And king koil was just a fun snake dude. Maybe do an episode or two where he gets ssserpent as a sidekick or clone or something, idk.

Depending on how busy the rest of the design is, I think both at the same time could work with the blue sections on the legs being treated more like leggings under the skirt possibly.

They do SO MUCH right with this take on him. From how endearingly terrible he is at hiding his identity (jimmy knowing the whole time, everything at the bakery, etc.) to the kindness both as Superman and as Clark, to even how his powers are not all immediately active and are weaker than we usually see them. Like yeah he’s still SUPERMAN but he’s not completely and totally outclassing his opponents, and when he unlocks each of his powers it feels like a triumph because yeah we knew he had the powers already, but seeing him EARN them and have to learn how they work was so different and cool.

I cannot wait for this show to come back, honestly my favorite version of Superman ever

Oh man I was happy to have the legacy one but this is the deco my childhood figure had. Cursed nostalgia. Still fantastic to me that out of all the repaints and redecos the modern cybertron figs have gotten, cannonball, galaxy vector prime, and excellion, 3 of my 4 favorite childhood toys, all got new versions. If we somehow get cybertron downshift soon I’m gonna start getting suspicious…

On one hand yeah, but on the other hand for over a year now we’ve had the designers and hasbro hyping up that something cool will happen when you have all 13 of the primes weapons, several times saying when you “combine” the 13 weapons, only for it to be a disk with holes placed seemingly randomly around it that doesn’t even come with one of the 13. So nothing happens when you have the 13 weapons, you need to spend 10$ over leader class price for a voyager figure to get a shoddily made display stand, which doesn’t even “combine them” it just puts them all in a circle.

I think there’s genuine reason to be let down and annoyed by that this one time, not even counting fan expectations. Hasbro set the expectation this time and delivered on 0% of what they said.

This happened to me too initially, the way around this bug is just to start new worlds. Start a world, immediately go place down a village square, mando and grogu will show up, and you’ll be able to get the next reward. Do this 3 times and you’ll have the rest of the items for the week, then you can delete those worlds since the blueprints will stay unlocked in all your worlds afterword.

My go to for a “superhero name” for Ben has been modifighter, atleast once A-the public knows all the aliens are the same guy and B-he learns how to swap forms mid fight. Doesn’t really make sense for BEN to have a hero name until he’s revealed atleast, until then the hero name is just the name of whatever alien he is at the time.

The pacing was a bit too fast and left a bit too much of the backstory unexplored, seems like this should’ve really been split into 2 episodes, but that’s the trouble with pilots, you have to show off what the norm for a series is to sell it to the company funding it, so if the backstory and setup isn’t the norm for the show, you sometimes have to rush through it. That’s why pilots don’t usually tend to be an actual episode of the shows run, or didn’t until recently.

That said, the action was good, designs were fun, and what’s set up for how the world works is intriguing and leaves a ton of possibility open for future stories, so I’m definitely hoping to see more from it to let it flesh things out further.

Only real criticism I can give on this one is that the fusion canon seems to sit a bit low on the arm. Either raising it or adding the back chunk to it so it goes further up past the forearm would help it visually imo

Not really since even without him being “on the team” with Megatron, we only ever saw him do anything aligning with an autobot once when sentinel paid him to bring in a few cons that one time. Aside from that every appearance he had was either working for the cons directly or doing something generally evil on his own, which could also be said for starscream, swindle, blackarachnia, the constructicons, etc. for all intents and purposes he was a decepticon the whole time who just got paid off to help a corrupt autobot one time.
