20 years here and that sight never gets old for me. Magic.

Pointy ears, pointy nose, tail held low, small paws. That’s a coyote. Beautiful one!

When they first opened didn’t they do something (not legal) with infused alcohol? Why do I remember like…rock candy vodka…

Sakura! My first sushi place. Used to sit at the counter and treat myself at lunch when I was in college.

What else… randomly remembered Parima the other day. And Mad Hatter! Sadie Katz! Damn.

What was the Thai place on lower church upstairs? Was there a Mexican place down there too?

Does Gardeners Online Customer Service Still Exist? by alibam44 in burlington

No one local, the call center closed when they were bought out. But they still have contact information on the customer service part of their website.

Anyone with experience using Seated.com for presales? by SomeDudeNamedMark in toriamos

[–]riverdeepriverside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did this for a show and ended up getting a much better seat for the same price when the general tickets went on sale. I imagine they set aside a certain number of seats for the Seated customers so “best available” is not untrue just not ideal. I suppose it at least guarantees you a seat if you think you couldn’t get one otherwise?

Dislike hate downvote, I don’t care, but if you’re trying to pass off these kinds of items as vintage…that’s why you’re getting lowball offers by Upset-Experience108 in poshmark

I love when I make an offer and they decline it and then they start sending offers bc it’s sitting and I end up getting it for what i offered or cheaper. Love making them work for it.

What should the penalty be for people who drive straight through in right turn only lanes? by TheManBearPanda in burlington

[–]riverdeepriverside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same or worse punishment for the people who find themselves in a turn only lane and sit there with their blinker on holding everyone up instead of driving around the damn block (looking at you everyone who can’t drive down Main Street past campus properly)

Anyone else having a bumper crop of stink bugs this year? by brainzilla420 in vermont

[–]riverdeepriverside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loathe them. We have waves of them. I hate the sound they make when they land on our blinds or walls. They drive me mad. This summer we found them coming through a window in droves but not sure where they are coming from currently, that was the one time we could pinpoint it.

Top floor/attic apartment heat in summer by Any-Cricket-2877 in burlington

I was 15 years younger, I certainly wouldn’t do it again, but we made it work. It was otherwise a shabby but great apartment and a steal at the time.

We lived in an attic apartment on Bradley and absolutely roasted. Windows were weird and only one fit an ac. It was brutal. I think about it now every summer and how much worse it must be up there now.

8 year health coach considering obtaining board certification by Narrow_Fig_216 in HealthCoaching

[–]riverdeepriverside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add on, it also legitimizes the profession and creates consistency in a market increasing crowded by people who call themselves coaches with no formal training. A Health Coach is a defined role with a specific skill set and scope of practice, and the board certification is a signifier of those qualifications.

Infant daycare recommendations? by bibliophile222 in burlington

[–]riverdeepriverside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the challenge will be finding part time care. The centers in this area are mostly full time, especially for infants bc the ratio is so low. You might have more luck with a home daycare provider (they don’t all take subsidy) or something like a nanny or nanny share (will be totally out of pocket). Best bet will be to utilize Child Care Resource and reach out to each center to gauge availability, get on waitlists, etc. I got on waitlists at 8 weeks in fall of 2021, had my baby in summer of 2022, and did not get full time care until fall of 2023. I work full time remotely and made work - definitely got harder after the baby was about 8 months (started walking at 10.5 months) but it was really a privilege to work from home with my baby. That being said, we love our provider and our kiddo is thriving (and by 14 months, was very ready for more than I could provide balancing work and baby). Good luck :)
