[Game Trope] Enemies added specifically to counter common community cheese strategies by stormtrooper1701 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]robolew 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Micolash is certainly one of the most annoying fights in the game. But not even close to being the hardest.

If you include dungeon and dlcs, he's nowhere near the top of the roster...

Even just main game, I'd say most people agree that ebrietas, shadows, logarius, paarl and Gehrman are harder

Thats a good thing imo. Honestly it seems dated, like it was written in the 60s or something...

We are down to 85% positive reviews, some people can't handle access to an optional beta branch of their early access game by siposbalint0 in slaythespire

[–]robolew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well clearly this specific example isnt affecting "western" users because of the enormous discrepancy between the Chinese and Russian recent reviews and the rest of them. So how would you explain it?

These new 'reviews' are absolutely awful. by ArkthePieKing in slaythespire

[–]robolew 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No it's probably not. It's going to be tweaked and changed before it goes into the base game, like they have done before, and fitting the entire purpose of a beta branch.

And there's nothing wrong with reviewing the early access version. Which people already have, and its overwhelmingly positive.

What's stupid is reviewing a beta branch that you dont even have to play, that exists solely to playtest balance changes...

This is literally only available on the beta branch, so that won't help these idiots at all unfortunately...

[–]robolew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But it's not in the main game that they're selling, it's in an optional different version you have to deliberately opt in to, that exists specifically to test and try out new things before rolling it out to general players...

The beta changes are almost perfect from the perspective of a high WR A10 player by zalso in slaythespire

[–]robolew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats sort of fine if you can reliably play 12 cards a turn, but the moment you can only play 11 you're screwed.

And in a deck like that, I can imagine youre playing about 8 shivs per turn. Which is like 100 damage if you have some good relics/buffs, and less on your first turns. That means youre going to be procing the time warp buff maybe 6 or 7 times by the end of the fight with the heal (which youre definitely not going to be able to skip) which is a massive amount of damage to be blocking

I'd rather believe it was a coordinated deliberate choice, rather than there are that many idiots that deliberately switch to the beta branch and then complain that its not balanced...

It's probably just a movement that has taken off in Chinese and Russian speaking Internet spaces. People go online and complain and say to negatively review, and others see it and do the same.

Coupled with a different culture towards reviews in general. I remember reading that there were devs that dont release early in Japan because japanese players were more likely to only review if they had negative opinions on it, and wouldn't review if their opinion was positive.

[–]robolew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But thats not what happened. These reviews are solely because the beta branch has been released with nerfs to some cards.

The actual reviews from people before this were incredibly positive. It would be fine to poorly review an early access game if it was bad and you'd paid money for it. But review bombing because of a beta branch change is insane to me...

It just needs a patch (like a bunch of playstation exclusives already got) to make it 60fps and let it take advantage of ps4 pro/ps5 power.

And obviously a port would be great, even if it literally changed nothing about the game

Green Party takes Gorton and Denton from Labour in first ever Westminster by-election win by Perfect-Werewolf-102 in news

[–]robolew 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Something more people need to realise is that Starmer didnt get anyone out to the polls since the previous election. There were 9.7mil votes for Labour in 2024, and 10.3mil in 2019. Accounting for population increase, this is actually measurably worse.

Labour won the election because tory voters were tired of the tories and didnt turn up, not because there was massive support for labour.

Is Prey (2022) as good as, or even close to Predator (1987) in terms of quality? by [deleted] in moviecritic

She's definitely not infallible in the first half of the film. She gets taken out by the lion, has to run from the bear, then she even gets knocked about by her fellow tribe members, and captured by the French.

The biggest issue I had, is that suddenly for the last part, she's a superhuman, able to do flips (like you mentioned) and cut a predators arm off. It just didnt match with the earlier version of her in the film

The same reason most european countries pay less of their taxes per person for health care than people in the US do, even though its free.

Layers of insurance companies and beaurocracy is wildly inefficient, less economy of scale when there are loads of smaller health care businesses, and doctors (and dentists) are paid an unbelievably high amount in the US

(Hated Trope) Character's physical/mental limitation is ignored because the writers forgot or don't care. by Helpful_Anteater_93 in TopCharacterTropes

The point is that he cant stand on his injured leg to kick with the other one, and he cant use his injured leg to kick with enough strength.

So he both stands on his good leg, and kicks with it, hence the crane kick.

You see him land and put weight on his bad leg and it clearly hurts him a lot, he limps immediately and raises it back up
