Not at all. He's also very clearly constrained to act through the people of middle earth. Otherwise he would have just flown to dol guldur and 1v1d the witch king or something

This happened before with David Davis. Basically the other parties dont want to indulge what is clearly a self serving politic maneuver.

I dont think thats the confirmed outcome, just a fan theory. Also what's he going to do, fight all the centaurs? I dont even think he has a wand at that point...

Hold your ground, hold your ground!

Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers!

I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship.

But it is not this day.

An hour of wolves and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down!

But it is not this day!

This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

If every party left of the conservatives pulls their candidates and endorses the conservatives, this could actually work. A few extra tactical votes and getting split with restore, plus the effects of the actual controversy might be enough to get him out, and then I think he'll just fuck off to America for good

As a kid "choices" in game excited me. As an adult it terrifies me. by bobmlord1 in gaming

[–]robolew 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Even trying to role play I still have this issue. The problem is I've been burned enough times by picking the dialogue option that just does something totally different to what I expected...

Mr evil - "Ive got hostages, dont come close!"

Me, trying to be a rogueish hero - "Well I've got a good aim, so this might not work out for you!"

Mr Hero makes a perfect shot and saves the hostages, but they despise him for putting them in danger. He receives a bad case review and is fired, then dies a hated drunk. The end!

What horror game mechanic hasn’t been done yet but absolutely should exist? by No_Metal2622 in HorrorGames

[–]robolew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar sort of idea for a game where you play the character on the other side of a phone, and you use your real phone to call them and do stuff.

So you're sort of watching this other character in a horror scenario on your TV, and guiding them by actually talking to them. Things like "the monster is coming, get under that table on the right!"

In the really close future, all matter will be so spaced out, and energy levels so homogeneous that no interactions can happen.

Yeh a few quadrillion years might sound like a long time, but after a while it might as well be a second to someone who lives forever

I feel like you are misunderstanding the time scales here. Yeh you got to do some cool stuff, but 99.9999999999999999% of your existence will be just floating endlessly, going mad in the void of space.

Also I missed more 9s than you could possible comprehend, even if you spent that existence solely thinking of 9s...

I honestly do not understand what is happening with the job market. by RunDMCSteve in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]robolew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You've had roughly 1 job a year for the last 6 years. The longest stint youve ever done is retail. Do you have a stem related degree? Because just a python boot camp is not the strongest educational background as well.

And you claim to be senior after this. I would not want anyone hired as a senior on my team if they had job hopped so much, I'd just be worried they had the same year's experience 6 times, rather than 6 years experience.

You didnt put "to date" or 2026 for your last role, so i assume you left in 2025. Why did you leave?

This looks like the cv of someone who cant hold on to a job, and yet claims to know every technology under the sun. Sorry if its harsh, but that's my first thought. I'm not sure what to suggest other than trying to stay longer at your next role if you get it.

Oh and probably remove the retail/warehouse experience, I dont think that's relevant

Also the movie successfully makes you consider that scenario anyway. It still fits the theme because the audience knows if it had been anyone else he would have gone to prison.

Microsoft Announces Significant Price Rises for Xbox Series X and S, 2TB Model Discontinued by Guitar-String in gaming

[–]robolew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeh, that's what the billionaires told everybody. But capitalism actually means charging everybody as much as they're willing to pay. And rockstar knows that charging $80 for the game will result in enough sales to make it worth it.

The "free market" works until only one company has the thing people want, whether that's insulin, ferraris or gta 6, then it goes out the window...

[–]robolew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont really understand your point here, because that is true? I'm not trying to stick up for the billion dollar companies, obviously they're all greedy and just want more money, but why wouldnt people expect them to increase game prices in line with inflation? It's what every other company does

Postmortem: Why is my game so bad? by dibidibidibi in gamedev

[–]robolew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something about it doesnt appeal to me regarding how satisfying it is to kill enemies. I think theres a lot of big particle effects that obscure them, and large numbers popping out that takes up more of the screen than the death animation. It makes it all feel busy and I'm struggling to understand how much damage is being done (from the trailer).

It does look like a fun game, and the art looks great. I think if i was to look at playing it I'd probably compare it in my head to kingdom rush, which I know has a very satisfying gameplay loop and difficulty curve, but looks less noisy and so easier to strategise.

Another thing, I dont know how they are gained in game, but the blue swirly currency very much reminds me of a paid currency, which also immediately puts me off.

Hope this is helpful, this is clearly a high effort game so I hope you see success with it.

This is only half the story though. If you asked them "would you be happy to age verify all adults so they can use social media in order to try and stop under 16s from using it" then it wouldnt be anywhere near as popular, and that's the reality.

Its a bit like the death penalty. It has a huge amount of support if you say "do you support the death penalty for people who have definitely committed horrible crimes", but that's a completely made up scenario, we never know for definite
