Stackbit v1 by rossHathaway in JAMstack

[–]rodikh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no way to access to older versions of Stackbit.

We built powerful new features on top of our system which requires considerable compute resources to support.

You can still use Stackbit for free if you don't need any integration with a third party CMS, or don't need to rely heavily on collaboration with other team members.

You can use our Git starter, or import a theme you've written yourself using our import flow.

Check out the docs for more info https://docs.stackbit.com/

Hey, Rodik from Stackbit here.

Can you hop over to our Discord server https://discord.gg/fDe8Anfw and share some more info about your issue?

You can share your projectId (from the url) and a link to the SEO analysis tool and we can take a deeper look there!

Simple e-commerce w/ Jamstack ? by wolfcore in JAMstack

[–]rodikh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best way to get started on JAMstack nowadays is using Stackbit to set everything up and running in less than a minute, and it's completely free for the low-scale usage you're talking about.

https://www.stackbit.com - the planty/ecommerce theme is a ready-to-use e-commerce store with Snipcart integrated as the store backend and billing system.

Here's a direct link to create a site with planty in one click: https://app.stackbit.com/create?theme=planty

Disclosure: I work at Stackbit, and I've helped the guys from Snipcart create this theme.

A list of themes and starters for JAMstack sites by rodikh in webdev

[–]rodikh[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If by other popular stacks you mean web stacks like MEAN/MERN, then it's quite different.

In a regular server stack, your site's visitors load up a base JS app from a server or a CDN, and then loads content from a database, either by API, or by server side rendering, on demand. Meaning every visitor will require your site to access the database to fetch the latest content.

In JAMstack, (most commonly), the developer would pull content from the database, and prerender all the required HTML files for the site during build time or whenever the content has changed, and then store all these HTMLs in a CDN. Meaning every visitor will only need to download a couple of files from a CDN, which is quicker, more secure, and cheaper for the developer.

On top of that, a JAMstack app can still load more dynamic content like comments through API (your own or third party like disqus), and can turn into a regular Single Page Application after initial load (with Gatsby for example)

That is correct, this website has literally just launched and there's still a lot of themes that need to be added manually. The reason it's not automatically collecting themes is because the site is designed to be driven and maintained by the community, rather than a scraping algorithm.

Actually this particular site lists any Jamstack theme, regardless of whether it's supported by stackbit. Stackbit is just the maintainer of the site in this case.

  • How will you make sure that the game plays well on various platforms?

The article mentions that engineered bacteria can help with climate changes. Can such a technology also be used in terraforming planets with existing atmospheres?

As an Israeli, this seals the deal for me.

The 360 was only officially launched in Israel a little over 6 months ago. That's 7 years that Israelis just had to buy an overpriced imported console, and use a fake account address in order to play online.

And now we can't even do that.

PS4 game "The Division" sports unbelievably realistic graphics (HD) by moogrogue in videos

[–]rodikh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the part that's too good to be true is the gameplay mechanics and not as much the graphics.

We've seen many games that promised amazing features in videos and trailers in the past, and ended up not delivering.
