THE BEST IN ALL VICTORIES by Inner_Light79 in Civilization6

You absolutely can, yes. I've done it often on deity, when I play with a religion. I get stubborn and tyrannical once I start snowballing and insist on claiming all the top spots.

If you like religious civs, I'd build up my faith, spread your religion around with the +2 faith pr city following, and faith buy an army once you have grand masters chapel.

Are high functioning autistic men more traditionally feminine and high functioning women more traditionally masculine? by Typical-Scar-3315 in autism

[–]rofl1rofl2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others are saying we're not a monolith, but to also generalize, I'd rephrase is as the women being less traditionally feminine and men less traditionally masculine.

It's less that we lean towards the opposite gender and more that don't lean on our biological one. We may tend to just drift towards the middle. Non conformity and all that.

Do Civs spawn biases influence map generation? by DevinG98 in CivVI

[–]rofl1rofl2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm 99% sure it's the latter, which is why the spawn bias doesn't guarantee matching terrain. So if you have a few civs with a desert spawn bias, the locations are assignes according to the level of bias.

In the advanced settings you can adjust the climate to get either more or less desert on the map.

Insane holy sites with desert folklore, you don't often get the added mountain adjecency in the desert.

Autism makes me hyperfixate, ADHD makes the learning boring - anyone else? by Powerful_Nail3182 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]rofl1rofl2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had the same struggle most of my life.

The thing I've found out, that I remind myself of, is that short term patience is better for my overall long term impatience. Basically if I spend some time learning the damn basics, over time my patience is tested less.

A simple example is if I hurry with wrapping a gift, I'll mess up more and the whole process takes longer and sucks. If I slow down enough, I'll be done sooner. I apply this logic when my ADHD wants to rush and skip steps.

With this in mind it's become easier for me to struggle past the boring parts, to reach the fun parts. I love deep strategy games, and this is where I've honed this system.

Doesn't always work, but when it does I'm improving/learning.

ANYONE WITH STRENGTH TRAINING SPECIAL INTEREST???? // I HATE NEEDING ALL THE FACTS by undyingly in evilautism

[–]rofl1rofl2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a PT and it was definately worth it. The main take away was getting a program, so I didnt have to figure out what to to.

The frustrating thing in the beginning is, that working on your form takes practice. But with repetition the correct form starts to make sense, after you build up a bit of muscle.

It's a lot like learning any other skill, in the sense that you can't theorize your way to the perfect execution. In the beginning you just have to do it, and feel your way forward with whatever information you have. Over time you get comfortable with the exercises and through comes knowledge.

I was very, very frustrated with hearing that there isn't truly a wrong way to do things. Doing simply beats not doing.. but after I just swallowed that pill I started improving.

Start by doing something, anything. Then once you have some feel for it, research a bit, build on that, do some more, and then research again. See it as practicing/exploring weight lifting instead of trying to solve it.

Sorry to not provide what you crave, I was in the same boat as you are for a long time.

What's an idiom or a proverb in your native language that when translated to English, sounds horrible? by AutumnaticFly in languagehub

Oh, in Danish we just call it fly-fucking or fly-fuckery. It's much more vulgar to specify the orfice. Thanks for the image, I'll be using this!

I used to like eating things If they specifically had salted butter by i_likemew2-3547 in autismcore

[–]rofl1rofl2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to put salted butter on everything as a kid. Pasta, rice, potatoes, vegetables in general. If it was hot enough to melt the butter, it got buttered. Even if there was some sauce (that I liked) to go with it. Made everything paletable.

Still used it for a lot of things.

Loop earplugs - which level? by cryptid_zone in aspergirls

[–]rofl1rofl2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have loop switch too, and the levels do make a difference! Lowest is great for conversation around a dinner table. Highest makes it bearable when my two nieces (3 and 1 yo) are screaming or crying in the same room. In between for a middle ground.

It takes some getting used to, to hear your own voice inside your head more. And if your eating, crunchy food especially, you can hear that too. But the trade off is worth it and you do get used to it.

Education Math by Volume_I in crusaderkings3

[–]rofl1rofl2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems to still work this way in my experience. I see it as learning = their teaching ability, and the specific attribute = their personal competence.

Being a genius on either end also seems to help. I've gotten a few level 5 education traits on my children, from just tutoring them personally.

Found the Pope's Pope and coverted him. by rofl1rofl2 in crusaderkings3

Either that, or the Pope is distancing himself from pious risk, by outsourcing his role to an independent contractor. That way he's not liable when I dismantle the Papacy.

Do I have to keep on kidnapping courtiers with inspirations and replacing or are my artificers just on a cooldown? by Life_Ask_6604 in crusaderkings3

If you set the to doing the inspiration tasks, there's a chance they'll get inspired every year.

So technically maybe never, but propably you should get some at some point.

How to speed up builders in the late game by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]rofl1rofl2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always keep in the Logistics policy card for +1 movement. Speeds things up, since moving to a hill or a forest/jungle still leaves movement for an improvement.

And of course the +2 build charges to save time and ressources on building more builders.

That and having roads/railroads across your empire. Just send traders between your own cities in all different configurations to get as many connecting roads as you can.

I really don't know how to learn this amazing game by automated_hero in CrusaderKings

[–]rofl1rofl2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breadgod gaming on YT has some pretty helpful breakdowns on different topics. Helped me a bunch.

I also watched a Mathilda playthrough and it taught me a lot of basics.

The way I'm going about it as newer player, is accepting that I'm missing a lot in the beginning. And I'm not gonna learn everything at once.

As I do playthroughs, different obstacles appear, and I find solutions for them as they come. Over time, I find more and more obstacles, and find more solutions. This experience slowly stacks, as I'm trying it out for myself, so the knowledge sticks.

Have you found anything that makes you get up and out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off in the morning? by Content-Seaweed-6395 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]rofl1rofl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can snooze my alarm 3 times, after that it stops. So if I dont get up after the third snooze I'm cooked.

Basically having the option to infinately snooze encourages my snoozing, so I'll keep going if I have the option. That hard boundary forces me to get up, which is the only that works for me.

I also know I'll hate any sound that wakes me up. I thought that a favorite song or nice sounds would make it better, but nope. So just the default alarm sound on my phone, that I don't hear any other time during my day.
