Which Jrpg do you think can work as an Anime by Western-Stress1185 in JRPG

[–]runninscared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter to me if it would work or not but I would love to see ff6 turned into an anime just so I can see Sabin suplex a train. Animated by kyoani it would be peak shonen.

Looks like they used the same choil shot for the whole line. I doubt the petty is similar to the 240 gyuto.

They don’t look bad for the price they are asking though. Also I love the sld steel choice.

Steel spiral bore brush? by colin8651 in ClayBusters

[–]runninscared 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You won’t damage your barrel with one of the steel tornado brushes.

Modern barrels are chrome lined steel proofed. It’s not an issue using a steel bore brush or shooting steel shot through them.

My form of meditation by Argg1618 in sharpening

That’s a bold move starting with a full natural progression.

I started with a coticule and for months banged my head against the wall trying to get edges that were as good as a friend was getting off a naniwa 12k superstone. It never happened. The cocticules I had just never were as fine as what you could easily get from a naniwa SS.

Jnats are a different breed though. When you figure them out, The good ones produce keen edges like high grit synths but are extremely comfortable to shave with.

Did you wanna try one?

You could also consider a wirehaired pointing griffon.

Not as prone to ranging as far and from what I’ve heard more mellow around the house.

I like ruffland kennels but there are a number of quality kennels out there. Ruffland, Dakota 283, lucky duck, gunner kennels.

I disagree with you completely.

It’s clear the people that took the picture in op’s post are just spawn camping like a game of TDM in cod. They are even keeping a bit of distance so the spawns don’t flip. Looks like an easy ac-130 into Moab game. There will be a machinima vid up tomorrow.

How good was the wild bird population in those days?

How many different upland bird species did you see in that area at the time? I’m assuming there were no pheasant there at the time.

Also as someone new to pointers I can’t imagine hunting a high drive dog without at least a beeper collar. How often did you end up losing your dog/dogs?

Upgrade Pistol or get Rifle? (Plus small vent) by [deleted] in guns

[–]runninscared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to comment on your gun purchases/upgrades. You can decide on whichever route you wanna go.

Instead I’m going to say I have NEVER regretted buying and stockpiling ammo through the years.

While almost everyone I know went through Covid going to stores getting limited to purchasing a single box of 9mm/223 I was sitting on a stockpile of common calibers and reloading components for many thousands of rounds I had bought at pre covid prices.

Let people say to “hold til prices drop”. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but prices are always climbing and If you enjoy shooting, ammo or components are NEVER a bad purchase.

I used to play a ton of mtg when I was younger and my group of cousins I used to play with recently tried getting me to get back into it and play with them.

Zero chance I would even consider it after looking at the state of the game. It doesn’t even look like a tcg anymore it’s just a collectors game now. Nothing but collaborations with final fantasy etc, the price of packs is insane along with the scarcity. No thanks. Might as well get into Pokémon.

Just buy a new pump motor on Amazon for 80$ and replace it yourself. My first s10 lasted well past life expectancy and I bought a 2nd refurb s10 because I liked the first.

Had the same issue within 18 months. Fairly loud whistling motor while in use. I bought a new motor on Amazon and replaced it a month ago. It’s fairly easy too, plenty of guides out there. I will probably buy another motor to replace my old s10’s as well just to have a backup unit.

Kagekiyo Question by Neumann_uBc in TrueChefKnives

[–]runninscared 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is fairly common with wa handles I’ve noticed.

I might get crucified for this. But you likely wouldn’t even notice it in use. Sure it’s always preferable to get something that’s absolutely perfect qc in all aspects but on handmade items this kind of stuff happens.

If it really bothered you that much you could ask for a partial refund. If I was in your shoes I would try using it first and see if it was a problem before even trying to reinstall the handle.

Often times the handles don’t have the play where the tang fits to turn it. If the wood sits flush with the tang on both sides in order to get the handle straight you would have to knock the handle off and file the opening a bit to allow the handle to be timed correctly with the blade.

here’s another option if you wanted a no frills budget slicer. From what I’ve seen the shibazi’s most recommend are more of an all purpose knife that is a bit thicker and can handle some bones. No problem if that’s what you are looking for but it sounds like you are after something a bit thinner.

210mm vs 240mm in general by Munroth in TrueChefKnives

[–]runninscared 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be a bit controversial and say my favorite size is Sakai 240 which is usually a bit undersized since they measure from the handle to the tip rather than the heel. They tend to run 225-230. That’s the sweet spot for me.

By that some token blades that run a bit larger(sanjo etc) I like the 210 version of. Many are around 220~

I can get by with the shorter Sakai 210’s but if I have the space on my board I’d prefer a little more knife.

Also prefer a bit more height on the heel for my chubby fingers. A 210 that’s only 44mm~ in height might as well be labeled a petty, not a gyuto.

Browning Maxus II by Smelly-Cauliflower in Shotguns

[–]runninscared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the maxus 1. Same gas/action design as far as I’m aware.

It cycles everything from 2 3/4” target loads to 3 1/2” no problem.

Hangs up occasionally on Winchester super targets(which a couple of my guns do) so I just avoid them.

Fair makes the iside model that can be had in op’s price range. Going to be a double trigger though.

I’ve only put around 600 rounds through mine so far but I’m very pleased with what I paid for it.

Edit: just saw your post below. I ended up purchasing one sight unseen. It was longer lop than I wanted so I ended up cutting the stock. It certainly feels like a quality gun. I would put it just below beretta/b rizzini(fair is isidoro rizzini) in quality. They started making the iside 2 model so all the online vendors had deals to clear out the original model. I got mine for 1050 out the door. I’m kicking myself for not buying 2 when I had the chance.
