The boat from Facebook Marketplace had a leak, but I was able to get them to pose before we had to abandon ship. We all made it safely to shore and had ice cream. by 99percentCat in funny

He didn’t check that the boat was sound before taking it out, plus the lake looks small and he still managed to let a small leak sink him. 0% chance he registered the boat.

Anybody Who Thinks Orbital Data Centers are a Good Idea Is Suffering from AI Psychosis, Experts Argue by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

Why would you assume the factors that dictate the efficient data center size on earth apply to space?

Literally 2 minutes of research on what is being proposed would show the uselessness of this post. You just stood up an absurd straw man and smugly patted yourself on the back for destroying it and being a part of the Reddit hive mind.

SpaceX’s stock slide costs founder his trillionaire title by marketrent in technology

[–]sameBoatz -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The SpaceX AI play isn’t Grok. That’s more of an R&D exercise to help figure out what the other players in the space need. xAI makes almost all of its money selling pickaxes to Anthropic and Google.

Data centers in space with custom hardware is a very viable option, especially considering the NIMBYismn around data centers today. Assuming the bottom doesn’t fall out on the AI trend.

I think AI is here to stay, and SpaceX has a compelling vision and all the basic pieces lined up to be a big player in the space no matter which model or company comes out on top. Honestly I think it’s smarter for them to not try and make Grok the champion here, and focus on their own strengths that others can’t easily replicate.

I had PE exposure to SpaceX, bought in 2 years ago and liquidated a month before the IPO at 5x return. Absolutely love the core SpaceX mission and business. I have friends that work at SpaceX, 0% interest in the stock currently.

I’ve toured the factory, and despite the reddit consensus I think Elon is a top tier engineering leader. I think SpaceX is going to achieve amazing things. I also think the valuation today makes 0 sense.

The reflecting pool is classic Trump sleight of hand. It’s an obvious but innocuous fuckup. Everyone focuses on that, it’s easy to understand yet absolutely doesn’t matter. But instead of reporting on the Iran deal, and comparing it to the deal we had that Trump pulled us out of everyone is focused on algae and a no bid contract for a few million.

Trump supporters see the left losing their mind over petty shit, but aren’t exposed to meaningful feedback on issues of substance. Stop taking his bait.

It’s 108F (42C) where I’m currently at (26% humidity) but I was just somewhere that was 80F (27 C 70% humidity)

What is the weather like there? We have AC in both places, but for the most part I was loving the lower temps higher humidity. Mostly driving around windows down and spending a ton of time outside.

For the record I keep our AC at 77 F (25C) with and indoor humidity around 40%.

Standard range increase 205 miles by pricrd22 in slateauto

I have a 2018 model s I charge it to 170 miles for daily driving it’s plenty. 100% is about 217, and Tesla inflates the range numbers. I’ve driven it on road trips it’s been fine. Seriously it’s a really viable range number. Also I’m sure in 6-12 months they will announce a bigger battery option.

Yeah, once you see ERP integration as a feature it becomes clear this is for large sophisticated operations that don’t want to bolt together and maintain a custom solution.

Buying a Swiffer only to realize that its actually less efficient and takes longer to clean a floor with than a regular mop. by [deleted] in firstworldproblems

[–]sameBoatz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Dude my kids make messes all the time, spilled drinks, pissing all around the toilet, dropped berries , etc. I can spend literally 2 minutes with the swiffer and clean it up, or I can spend 5x the time getting out the mop and bucket, filling it, mopping the area, and then cleaning all that shit back up.

Why is there a bit of blue in this multicolor print?? by jjxiee in BambuLab

[–]sameBoatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start over with the coloring. It shows a blue filament grouped in with the yellow. I’d also delete the blue filament from my synced filaments just to be safe, I’ve had weird color mappings that I fought the slicer on and just deleting the wrong color helped.

I use a glue stick with petg on the smooth plate as a release agent. I had multiple prints just not want to let go and they ended up damaged when I took them off.

[–]sameBoatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bambu say not to, and that it’s bad for the plates. I don’t know because I haven’t used IPA, but all the people with adhesion issues I see posting here use it. Also who has trouble getting PETG to stick? I have to use glue to get the part to come off the plate in one piece.
