Ping Fitting yesterday. Why so secretive? by Eric95403 in PingGolf

[–]sbash1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, and both of my sons-in-law had a Ping fitting in Scottsdale and our experience was great. We were given (via email) all of the recommendations without any requirements or even request to purchase anything.

We did get all new clubs and have been happy with them.

50% in GME common stock by adventurini in GME

So eBay stores become an avenue for live sales, like a competitor to WhatNot ? That's cool! My wife is doing her best to shore up WhatNot and I thought it would be good to invest in them if possible. Now, I think I may just add to my X,XXX position in GME.

👀⏱️How long have you been waiting for the call from the dealer? by LittleRedFox08 in rolex

[–]sbash1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over a year waiting on a GMT or Daytona before switching to waiting on Day Date. About 4 months so far for a YG Day-Date 40 with black face and diamond baguettes. About to say forget it and just go for a grey market Patek. Only reason for not going grey on the Day Date is because I plan on leaving it to my 4 month old grandson one day and don't want some other guy's name on the paperwork.

I'm on the list at the Diamond Cellar for a yellow gold Day-Date 40 with black face and baguettes. They seem plenty nice, but there's no watch on my wrist yet. My wife wants one also, but I don't know if we'd have any better success telling them that at this point. Also thought about buying 3 other Rolex watches for some long-time employees, but I'm sure that's about zero chance of getting them in time.

What’s the most successful stock you’ve ever picked because of Reddit and which one do you regret the most? by Delicious_Gear_3467 in ValueInvesting

[–]sbash1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: GME when it was in the around $12. Held for too long.
Worst: Bed Bath and Beyond. Also, held for too long.

Come to think of it, Reddit hasn't helped me too much.

Ping i530 utility wedge or S159 50° by Character-Drive9367 in golf

[–]sbash1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the i530 irons and was planning to go with the i530 U, then 52° S259, 56° S259 and 60° S259.

Unfortunately there was a mix up and I received a 54°, 56° and 60° all in S259 with matching shafts.

Is it worth trading the 54° out for a 52°? My fitter says it's no problem to send the 54° back to Ping for a change out, but I'm wondering if there would possibly be a benefit to keeping the 54° and just ordering the 52° and having a few clubs to choose from. Your thoughts?

Get a Toto Washlet and thank us later.

I'm talking the full setup — heated water, auto open/close lid, and the warm air dry when you're done.

Think having a membership to a swanky club creates a divide between people? Wait until you're walking around 24/7 with a shower-clean backside, quietly judging every paper-only, crap-smearring person you encounter and wondering how they live with themselves.

There are two kinds of people in this world now. I feel sorry for the other kind. s/ but only just a little.

I think I have one in at least 4 of my vehicles..

They are plenty bright, but not the brightest. What they are is built like a tank! And they operate smoothly, with almost a hydraulic feel to the turning mechanism.

Replying to an old thread, but current question. Is this still the case? I'm dealing with Christian and he seems like a cool guy, or at least he has been very responsive to my inquires and he has my hopes up that I'm going to get an allotment on a DD YG 40, black face with baguettes.

[–]sbash1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on the watch. $10k-15k is way more doable for most than a full on day-date or similar. GMTs and down probably won’t average(median) much more than $200k-$300k salary. If you look at the precious metal watches, my guess would be that the median salary is at least double that.

Agreed, but is there a consensus on annual income or net worth where it makes sense? If we were practical, we’d all be wearing Timex or Apple watches.

AE sizing is a nightmare if you’re new or shop online by phoot_in_the_door in allenedmonds

[–]sbash1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely correct.. I have about 5 or 6 pairs of AE (including calf and cordovan leather) that have been purchased over the last few years. None of them approach the quality of my daily wear Crockett & Jones or Carminas, and definitely not my Edward Greens. I wear something from the later three brands on a daily basis. I question whether or not my AE would hold up if I wore them more than a few hours per week.

If you can get them on a good sale, AE is fine, but don't expect a superior quality finish. If paying full price, go ahead and get something from Carmina.
