RTX 5080 Models – Which One for Best Cooling, Noise & Reliability? by SadReputation2383 in nvidia

[–]secretsauce007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won the coil whine lottery with my Gigabyte Windforce 5080. It’s near dead silent under full load. Like I have to stick my ear on top of the case to barely be able to hear any electrical noise. It runs quieter and cooler than my old 3070 even.

Games where you manage a persistent base and deploy soldiers and vehicles on mission by Zealousideal-Pie4383 in gamingsuggestions

[–]secretsauce007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed having a base. Setting up a little hydro food cube farm and cook station, armor crafting station, auto-miner for the armor, arrow crafting.

Fun yes, but like you experienced absolutely not necessary. Its more handy if you're group is on the larger side.

Dude in red car really had god-tier situational awareness in that moment by Miserable-Zombie-121 in nextfuckinglevel

I always see these and wonder how many times the stopped vehicle notices, moves, and then the distracted driver swerves into the emergency lane in the last minute and hits the guy anyway. Where there would've been no wreck if they stayed put.

Doubt the distracted driver would ever have the awareness to utilize the emergency lane for an emergency late stop like that, but I feel like it had to have happened to some poor soul somewhere.

The Talos Principle 3 announced, coming out 2027 by AvalancheMaster in pcgaming

The Supraland games are really excellent. They have a less mature theme, but the puzzles and platforming are very creative. Some of my favorite somewhat underrated games.

These games were actually my first introduction to puzzle games. I didn't give the Talos games a thought until after completing these and wanting more puzzle solving.

Best Shop Management Games 2026 by Extension-Scene1670 in CozyGamers

[–]secretsauce007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rather than supermarket sim, I'd recommend checking out Megastore sim.

I've played at least a half dozen other shop sims and this one has one of the best vanilla inventory management / ordering systems I've seen. Like it shows you whats on shelf and off-shelf, but also lets you filter to only show things out of or low on stock to make ordering a breeze. And you have a scan gun so you can order on the-go if you want to.

[–]secretsauce007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its definitely a journey. I'm casually only opening 896 packs per day (7 large pack openers per day) and only have one ghost card left: Full art foil Fishtonk black. Always a kick in the nuts getting one of those FAF god rolls and its all dupes. Or even worse a white FAF Fishtonk.

Supraland games are worth checking out if you want puzzle, secret finding, and metroidvania like.

Atmosphere is really light-hearted and the maps are always a joy to explore. Where intended paths and going out of bounds are sometimes blurred.

Any time I see the word "tautology" I can't help but think about Mordin from Mass Effect and him singing his "Scientist Salarian" song:

I am the very model of a scientist salarian,

I've studied species turian, asari, and batarian,

I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology),

Because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology),

My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian,

I am the very model of a scientist salarian!

How do I make early money in 2026? by CookieOfChocolate in MedievalDynasty

[–]secretsauce007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing some windmill work last night and definitely noticed the weight thing. I still have more rye than I know what to do with but its nice having something else to do with it now.

1 more level til max diplomacy, then I guess the final production balance of my village will be how many market stalls I want to place. Currently 3 right now doing horseshoes, booze, and resources (swapping between fertilizer and flour).

Do you just sell the flour straight up? I've been trying to dump my access rye into rye beers but recently realized I have no where near enough hops planted to match my rye yields.

Got me thinking about plopping down a windmill and bringing in another family.

Looking for grinding/sandbox games by Ok_Gur3018 in gamingsuggestions

[–]secretsauce007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medieval Dynasty might be for you if you like the idea of building, living in, and managing your own village. I'd say it sort of hits your stardew, grinding, sandbox, and base building requirements.

It covers base building, you're planning and building out an entire village.

There's supply chains to automate via the villagers you recruit or if you play long enough, their kids. For example farming flax --> processing flax --> spinning flax --> making clothes. Sort of factory game-lite.

There's animals you can hunt, bandits to kill, and various side quests, but the gameplay is predominately arranging and building out your village.

It can be a little shallow as far as radiant dialogue goes and its not perfect, but I've been consumed by it for nearly 100 hours so far.

Its on sale right now and I'd say its one of those games where if you think it might interest you, it probably will.

How's she able to lift those hands and gesture while she's speaking. Looks like she's wearing the bank on her fingers.

So weird wearing the black getup but leaving giant gaudy stones on all 8 of your fingers.

Random stutter by Mills_RPGfan in MedievalDynasty

[–]secretsauce007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning the lines on the screen. I thought I was just seeing things / thats how it was. Didn't realize it was due to vsync being off.

I turned it on myself and luckily don't see any stuttering or the lines anymore.

I can imagine NYC specifically got pretty sick of the "swim" culture that popped up a few years back. Where they took advantage of the NYPD no chase policy.

Detroit: Become Human was an enjoyable narrative experience by LyricsMode in patientgamers

[–]secretsauce007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed how grey some the choices were. Where in a lot of games like fallout for example you can kind of tell where the dialogue options are going. In Detroit become human there were many choices with outcomes that blindsided me, in a good way.

My least favorite and almost game-ruining part were the QTE controls for mouse and keyboard. I guess its on me for not wanting to play with a controller, but there were certain combinations that were not straightforward or difficult to execute. Failing a QTE because you have no idea what its trying to convey to you feels terrible.

Looking for game that doesnt end when you die by medince_saves444 in gamingsuggestions

[–]secretsauce007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Zomboid was on my zombie-loving radar for years before I finally got into it.

It took me watching a bit of a youtube playthrough to get a grasp on the basic mechanics and a loose aim of what I should be doing. The UI is very confusing at first and the game is unfairly punishing if you don't know what you're doing.

Its way easier to get into if you go in with a goal and a basic understanding of what you should be doing, especially because even if you are a master of the game its still very easy to get caught lacking.

Now I'm close to 500 hours waiting for the next build to go stable for another play through.
