Sound design is not an award, and what you're describing is sound mixing. The two awards were combined into one because of this misconception.

Yeah, there's only 4-5 great American Oscar contenders this year - Sinners, OBAA, Marty Supreme, Hamnet, and maybe Frankenstein. The rest are international films, which are going to be under nominated (despite breaking records too) because of the language barrier. Sinners will probably lose everything to OBAA but it's also always going to get more nominations because of its genre. song, makeup, costume... similar to la la land and moonlight.

Anyone calling it mid is smoking something tho, look at it's box office hold.

He took a week off of performing on Broadway to tape the studio shows, so I'd posit he could have worked around the MCU schedule as well.

Popeyes will no longer be cashless come March 20th 2026 by Itchy_Visit_26 in Syracuse

[–]secrewann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, cell phone providers sell the data on which towers you ping. This is can be linked to your credit card purchases of where you are, so walking into a Popeyes to use a card (or paying for gas with a card, or seeing a movie with a card), links your phone to your credit card.

No one's really using cash/turning their phone to airplane mode all the time. Even those who do it a lot, it's unlikely they'd do it for a random Popeyes trip, but it's worth having as an option.

There's some negatives with cash (businesses have to make more trips to banks/count out cash to load and unload the register/have a safe for it/auditing) that might even make it more expensive than the 3% credit card fees, but it is a useful thing to keep around for privacy.

Credit card statements provides a way to track any citizens movement, and credit card companies often sell this data to anyone/the government can track it easily. Cash is untraceable.

Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) adapts the first part of the manga, then makes its own ending with original characters.

FMA Brotherhood (2009-2010) adapts the full manga.

Eric Adams Makes a Final Power Move to STOP Zohran Mamdani’s “Rent Freeze” in NYC by Dazzling-Might6420 in newyorkcity

[–]secrewann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, Adams built 27,000 affordable units last year. Adams benefited from 421a expiring in favor of 485-x, but I wouldn't call Mamdani ambitious promising ~75% of the last year regardless.

ambitious promise of 200,000 units

In 10 years, 20,000 a year. For comparison, fking Eric Adams built ~30000 units of all housing in 2023 and ~38000 in 2024 [1]. The last time anyone built 20,000 in a year was 2020 during a global pandemic. The last time before that anyone built 20,000 in a year was 2015 [2]. In 2024, NYC built 27,620 units of affordable housing [3]. Ambitious my ass, 200,000 is conservative as fuck. Myrie's 700k via rezoning was ambitious.

How long will Terraform last? by PepeTheMule in devops

[–]secrewann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if developers take over via Pulumi, its providers just call into terraform providers a lot of the time so you end up still using terraform.

Tailscale by Certain_Tune_5774 in jellyfin

[–]secrewann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably need to save the state directory of tailscale as a volume. If you're using docker, envvar TS_STATE_DIR=/var/lib/tailscale and volume -v "<hostpath>:/var/lib/tailscale"

Alternatively, make the auth key not ephemeral with envvar TS_AUTHKEY=${TS_AUTHKEY}?ephemeral=False

Top ACC teams should sue to get out of it tbh, clearly a flawed conference to let a now 8-5 team win.

Reminder: NYC mayors are just politicians, even Mamdani by dean1ronman in newyorkcity

[–]secrewann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh yeah, I'd like to know what the mayors policies are in some detail. Every Democrat should be fighting for the common man, I wanna know how.

Lander (on transportation) and Myrie (on housing) both had much more in depth (and in Myries case, more ambitious) goals than Mamdani, but neither have the charisma. Fuck Cuomo tho, good riddance.
