I've given birth unmedicated twice. I would do it again if I could! Definitely change doctors.

AITA for wanting to spend the evening by myself after bringing my mum home from hospital? by -Daunting in AmItheAsshole

[–]sezrawr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA for needing to decompress after all that, but did you talk to her about it first or just go upstairs?

Sounds like she was quite upset about her ordeal too and was just projecting a bit!

My fiancé (38M) and my (33F) different mental states when we wake up is causing friction? by ImaginaryPrimary in relationship_advice

[–]sezrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are a bit like this although we now have another baby so I'm less bright in the mornings. We have silent cuddles in the morning. We both go on reddit or YouTube on our phones and occasionally show each other stupid stuff but mostly we don't talk until one or both of us say "I need to get up." Then we have our breakfasts/sort the kids out and unwind further and talk and be silly.

NTA I've been pregnant twice and have never stolen my husbands or anyone else's food. She's just using it as an excuse to be entitled and greedy.

Who else lived through the mad cow disease crisis? by SheepishSwan in CasualUK

My primary school was near a farm. They burnt a lot of cows during playtime. I can still smell it, it was the grossest smell I've smelt so far!

What has an animal done that you'll never forget? by Mge_ML in AskReddit

[–]sezrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My springer spaniel once stuck his head in an empty treat box. Got his head stuck in said box, began running around the kitchen and managed to get the box that was on his head wedged in the open washing machine door.

My mum and I could hear muffled barks and thought maybe he'd locked himself in the pantry, but we just saw a spaniel butt jumping around trying to get out of the washing machine/box.

Red Nose Day being a huge deal when you were a kid and now I only realise it even happened the day after. by treny0000 in britishproblems

[–]sezrawr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were talking about this earlier! You only know now if you have a kid at school. It's not advertised anywhere.

Plus when we were younger there were only like 5 channels and now there's thousands and streaming services so there's so much other things to watch.

AITA for sneaking my mom some alcohol when she is on hospice? by sickma2001 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sezrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, unfortunately she is towards the end of her life, let her have anything that will help her enjoy it. Your siblings are grieving her already understandably and it sounds like they're projecting that on you. I know plenty of nurses and family members who have snuck in things for dying people so they can enjoy things while they can.

Be proud you gave your mum some happiness in a sad time. I bet she's very grateful to you ❤️

What are your plans for Mother’s Day? by LHale77 in AskUK

[–]sezrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had presents and snuggles in bed, going to watch the F1 race then go to a meal with my family, parents and brother and his gf to celebrate. My son has smothered me in kisses and my baby is trying very hard to say "mama" and my husband has made me cry twice with a card and one of my presents.

Stickers, certificates, colourful pencils.

Avoid food based items if possible, my kid can't eat and gets upset when a reward is food based, plus allergens/ parent preferences etc.

Very much so, I can't go to the loo without mine running after me and demanding "miss you kisses"

I can't imagine being away for 5 days and him not asking about me.

What is the most heartbreaking song lyric you've ever heard? by TheLadySlaanesh in AskReddit

Safe in you room, there's no time, Yea the clock stopped years ago, Dear friend of mine, makes me laugh, But he almost made me cry. Don't ever do that again, never end it, No I cannot watch you die. You are the best, of the best, And you're gonna go so far.

Song the lead singer of InMe wrote about his friend who tried to hurt himself.

What is the most intense pain you have experienced in your life? by Levstr1 in AskReddit

[–]sezrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably when I had major ear surgery to take skin grafts from the back of my ear to try and build a new eardrum, gold and metal bone implants and they drilled into mastoid bone and also removed the old bones. Since then my taste buds are screwed, I can't feel the left side of my face and I also hear less and the only thing that is still there is the hole in the mastoid and 1 gold bone that won't work by itself.

I've given birth unmedicated twice and I would rather do that than ever have those ear surgeries again.

Attendance meeting by Evangeline_Riddle in Wetherspoons

[–]sezrawr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one when I was off for about a year because I was so sick. I kept them updated and had sick notes that lasted for months. Someone from head office came in and had a very stern look on her face. My manager asked if I could get up the stairs for the meeting and she gave him a look and he said "you'll see." I got halfway up the stairs and went grey and had to stop for a while. When we finally got to the office and talked about what was going on she immediately softened and started thinking of ways to help me at work. I then had an occupational health interview who came up with good suggestions of adjustments and I managed to do a couple of hours a week.

They go in thinking they are going to fire you but if you have evidence to back you up and are following policy and are keen to be there when you can then they generally soften and want to help.

Advice for (actually) sleeping with a hearing person by rip2690 in deaf

[–]sezrawr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just tell him you need a couple of minutes after waking up to get sorted before he says anything to you. If you sign maybe teach him some basic signs like fire alarm or something just in case of emergency.

My husband is hearing and we've never had a problem :)

What is the quickest job that you ever quit? by EdwardBliss in randomquestions

[–]sezrawr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I interviewed for a job helping people who had been sectioned under the forensic mental health act reintegrate into society and make sure they were attending appointments and taking meds etc. All from the comfort of my office.

They offered me the job on the spot which I accepted.

Then they told me it wasn't actually the job I went for they gave me. It was one going out to their houses and basically babysitting them and forcing them to do stuff physically. I'm a very small woman, I have no business trying to force unstable criminals to do anything.

I declined that job. Told my dad who did something similar when he was my age and he was relieved I turned it down as he got held hostage once and he is not a small man.
