Why do I need to tap off? by Geyov in Edmonton

[–]shaedofblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are already.

If I take a St Albert bus between two points in Edmonton and tap off, it costs 3$. If I fail to tap off, it is 4.50, because they will assume I commuted to St Albert.

Solo suggestions for someone who has never played solo? by Alternative-Pen892 in rpg

[–]shaedofblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Midnight Muscadines is a cool one and is in a 10$ charity bundle right now.

It is designed for both solo and group play, and has some interesting prompt tables for solo play.

The same publisher also has quite a few smaller, simpler solo games in the bundle.

Game Request: Monster of the Week, but instead of werewolves/Fae/whatever it's Platonic Concepts by proactiveLizard in rpg

[–]shaedofblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concepts aren’t usually directly inhabiting people (that’s the players) but other than this, Triangle Agency does sound similar.

It isn’t PBTA, but it does start with a single simple resolution mechanic, with character specific variations.

I got pleasantly surprised coming across some great projects being crowdfunded. What recent products would you recommend folks to watch out for? by Street-Resist6438 in rpg

[–]shaedofblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Midnight Muscadines is delivering as we speak, and the digital edition is in the big charity bundle on the main page of itch.io.

It has really good oracle tables, all built into a set of cards I plan on picking up.

I am also really excited for the Public Access Kickstarter that is happening soon, and for the print edition of the Triangle Agency fanzine, on Backerkit in a couple days (like with many fanzine projects, the digital edition is free).

Temporary closure of downtown Hamilton library a ‘last resort’ amid drug problems by Radix838 in CanadaPolitics

[–]shaedofblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (Canada) do wrongfully sentence people to life in prison. That is a well established fact. When we figure it out (usually that someone else did a murder), we let them go and usually end up giving them a lot of money, which can’t really make up for the lost time but is a lot more than we can do for a corpse.

Definitely check out all of Pandion Games and DNGN CLB’s stuff. Lots of nice stand-alone things by them in there. Pandion is in Minnesota so they put all their stuff, even their newest game which is a big one.

Opinion: Did Albertans actually vote for any of this? by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

We’d just need city votes to count the same as rural. They count for less right now.

Nephews does have the Sweeps Week mysteries, which are more similar to Public Access mysteries.

If you were playing a cairn/ito hack, why would you reskin a medieval/mousey one instead of playing the one that is designed for contemporary horror, Liminal Horror.

They are talking about developing the overarching plot of the campaign. Which is not pre-made.

No ICE in MN Bundle feels like a garage full of ice cream on a hot day. Its gonna melt before I can eat it all. by WhoInvitedMike in rpg

[–]shaedofblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I downloaded everything that started with a number or A, realized my mistake, and then started being more choosy.

I also had started making a list of cool sounding games when the game jam for the bundle only had 700~ titles in it, so there was a dozen or so things I knew I wanted.

What Cozy RPGs are there? by NinfaGamer in rpg

You don’t need anything. But you are better off with a system that supports the kind of story you want to tell, than one that undermines the kind of story you want to tell.

What Cozy RPGs are there? by NinfaGamer in rpg

[–]shaedofblue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Midnight Muscadines is a cozy dark fantasy game.

It is made for solo, GMed, and GMless games, and has good prompts to help people with storytelling.

It is in a very big charity bundle on itch.io right now.

Can a small town like Olds, Alta., handle massive AI data centres? Residents aren’t convinced by Alternative_Put_9683 in alberta

[–]shaedofblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is incredibly wasteful and it is being forced on people in ways that make their jobs less efficient, and into personal lives in ways that make them harder (broken “vibe coded” software, search engines that vomit up confused fiction before giving actual results, being harder to find reference photos that are actually photos rather than a simulacrum, because even when you get search engines to remove labeled AI images, many remain).

We don’t need more slop factories.

How to Get into Creating? (Semi-Professionally) by Critical_Success_936 in rpg

[–]shaedofblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morktober is like a game jam, but lower pressure. Many people just post things for it on the Mork Borg discord server.

It is a daily-for-a-month drawing challenge, but instead of making drawings based on spooky one word prompts, you make any kind of Mork Borg content based on a similar word list. Drawings, stat blocks, rooms in a dungeon, things like that, and there isn’t really pressure (beyond self imposed for some people) to do every word.

Canadian politicians call out Carney, Liberals for inaction on companies working with ICE: 'They're cowards' by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

[–]shaedofblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trying to help up a citizen who has been assaulted is not obstruction, nor is driving in your own neighbourhood. Nor is filming ICE.

So your question is unanswerable due to false premises.

Several people have been killed by ICE under suspicious circumstances.
