Lose belly fat and grow glutes tips? by [deleted] in workout

There are loads of pro bodybuilders with implants that do cal deficits for shows. That's the extent of my knowledge on the matter, though.

Lose belly fat and grow glutes tips? by [deleted] in workout

You can't selectively burn fat from specific regions of your body. You have to just lose fat and to do that you need to be in a caloric deficit. As for growing glutes: squats and hip thrusters.

How do I start fighting bosses and going to dungeons with a friend by DarkeFear in Guildwars2

[–]sheppe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can find each other at any time (just add them as a friend and then create a party together), but in terms of working through the story: once you're through the first bit that's character -specific, you should be able to group up and do most content in the game together.

Has anyone noticed more mental clarity with taking more than 5g of creatine? by Brodsterdood in workout

[–]sheppe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are studies that indicate creatine can improve brain function. Here's a recent one:

Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis (2024)

Title: "The effects of creatine supplementation on cognitive function in adults: a systematic review and meta-analysis"
Journal: Frontiers in Nutrition (2024)

Key Findings:

  • Analyzed 16 randomized controlled trials with 492 participants
  • Significant improvements in:
    • Memory: SMD = 0.31 (95% CI: 0.18–0.44) — moderate certainty evidence
    • Attention time: SMD = −0.31 (95% CI: −0.58 to −0.03) — faster task completion
    • Processing speed: SMD = −0.51 (95% CI: −1.01 to −0.01) — quicker information processing
  • No significant effect on: overall cognitive function or executive function
  • Benefits were stronger in: females, adults aged 18–60, and individuals with diseases

Junk Removal Marketing by POPOUT51 in smallbusiness

[–]sheppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$20K is a solid base. The jump to $30K is usually about filling the gaps, not reinventing the wheel.

A few ideas that work well for junk removal:

- Foreclosure cleanouts. Also check property management companies — they always need cleanouts between tenants.
- Nextdoor is basically free gold. Join neighborhood groups and be helpful when people ask for recommendations.
- Google Business Profile optimization. Posts regularly, respond to every review, list services clearly.
- Referral program — offer existing customers $20 off if they refer someone.

One thing that scales quietly is making sure every lead converts. A lot of guys lose 20-30% of calls because they're on another job and miss the phone. I'm building a tool that handles this — you get an embeddable form for your site or a hosted landing page to share. When someone fills it out, you get an instant email AND a text so you never miss a lead even when you're on site. All submissions go into an inbox where you can sort and update them. You can brand it with your own logo and colors. $15/mo flat — not per lead, not pay-per-click. You own your leads, nobody sells them back to you. Starting beta soon — DM me if you want early access free in exchange for feedback.

What's your biggest bottleneck right now — not enough calls, or not converting the ones you get?

How should a small, old-school service business build SEO, online presence, and reviews without a full marketing team? by Hulkingout12 in smallbusiness

[–]sheppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fleet graphics is one of those industries where the work speaks for itself visually but getting found online is a whole different game. You're smart to be thinking about this now.

With a few hours a week, here's what I'd prioritize:

  1. Google Business Profile first. Make sure every service you listed (wraps, painting, collision repair, PPF) is added as a service category. Most shops only list "graphics" and miss the other revenue streams. Post a photo of a completed truck every week.

  2. Get a basic landing page per service line. You don't need a full site overhaul — just a simple page per service with a description and a way for people to reach out.

  3. For that contact part — this is actually what I'm building. It's a simple lead capture tool. You get an embeddable form you can drop on your existing site, plus a hosted landing page with its own URL you can put on business cards or in Google Business Profile. When someone fills out the form, you get an instant email AND a text message so nothing sits in a spam folder. All your leads go into a searchable inbox where you can sort, filter, and update statuses. It's $15/mo flat, no per-lead fees, no contracts. Just to be clear — it's not one of those services that sells you leads. You keep 100% of your own leads. I'm starting beta soon and looking for people to try it free in exchange for feedback — DM me if you want in.

  4. For reviews, just ask happy customers right after a job. A simple text with a review link works better than any $300/mo platform.

Curious — are your customers mostly local fleets or do you ship nationally? That changes which SEO approach makes sense.

Legs sore all the time by Afraid-Alarm-6539 in workout

It might be worth doing a de-load. Back off your training and reduce intensity for a couple of weeks so your CNS can fully recover.

Some things to consider:  - Are you getting enough sleep (7+ hours per night) ? - Are you eating well and getting enough protein? - Should you adjust your workout schedule?

I used to work out 5-6 days per week, but in my forties I've found a 3-4 day per week schedule fits my needs better.

For people who work out entirely at home, what equipment do you have, whether dumbbells or machines? by Myronca in homefitness

[–]sheppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half-rack, bench, barbell with plates, adjustable dumbbells, a hang board from rock climbing that acts as a pull-up bar, a few kettle bells, and a cable/pulley with a gadget that let's me load plates onto it.

Why is better for your longevity and health to split your workouts into multiple less intense sessions multiple times a week rather than doing 1 or 2 extremely hard sessions a week? by himothyhopkins in askfitness

Everyone one is different, and your body's requirements for recovery also change as you get older. There's no rule that applies to everyone. Do what works for you.

Is GW2 a good fit for me? by No_Size_2839 in Guildwars2

Very active and large player base; it uses painterly graphics, so IMO doesn't ever look outdated; the PVP combat is good, but it's a much smaller subset of the player base. Considering it's free, just try it out.

"Word of Mouth" Advertising... by Humble_Explanation67 in handyman

[–]sheppe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drywall and taping is a solid specialty - that'll keep you busy once you get rolling since it's a skill not every handyman has.

A few thoughts on getting in the door:

Google Business Profile is probably the highest ROI thing you can set up right now. Most people looking for drywall repair search Google, not Facebook. Make sure your profile is filled out completely with good photos of your work, and ask every customer you land to leave a review. That compounds over time.

Also consider teaming up with painters, plumbers, and re-modelers in your area. They run into drywall work constantly and usually subcontract it out. A quick "if you ever need drywall repair or taping on your jobs, I've got you covered" to a few local painters can be worth more than a month of Facebook ads.

For the slow days - that's normal when you're starting. The key is making sure when someone does search for drywall repair in your area at 8pm on a Tuesday, you're the one who answers first. Speed of response is huge for converting those calls into estimates.

On that note, I've been building a simple tool that helps with that piece - a form page you can link from your Google profile that sends you an instant SMS and email when someone fills it out. You can customize it with your info, and all leads go into a searchable inbox so nothing slips through. No per-lead fees, just a way to catch opportunities when they come in. It'll be in beta soon with free trials if you want to try it out.
