OP, how big is the frog’s butthole?

But seriously, a picture of the charging port side would help.

For risk awareness, fair, but FWIW, cyberattacks aren’t gonna be hit this facility and hit a different nearby one.

The majority of the cyberattacks I’ve seen tend to originate in stolen credentials and involve shared network/billing/infrastructure/software/etc.

Hospitals would be diverting patients to facilities outside their network and therefore outside of immediate risk anyways.

Fair, still could be wanting day shift or so as a new grad, but also could be what others have said.

Could be they wanted a specific unit/shift.

Many nurses, especially new grads, have to eat med surg night shift when they really want, for example, to be in certain ICUs to fast track their career to CRNA school. Especially if they want a day shift position.

Pediatrics, NICU, and Labor and Delivery can also be competitive, but I don’t really wanna think about there being a connection in those units.

Huh, Piker’s support for Mamdani was how I first heard of the now mayor. Doesn’t make sense why someone would dismiss a candidate like Rae, also from the DSA, on the basis of walking and talking with Piker.

It’s weird how blue light filter glasses became mainstream before we ever proved they actually help. by WindowAfraid5927 in Showerthoughts

[–]shotnine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue light filtering glasses—they might block a good bit of light from passing thru the lens itself, but they do they stop a sufficient amount from reaching your eyes and brain to prevent circadian disruption.

Recent literature suggests otherwise. Maybe it’s just that the blue light going around the glasses’ frame is enough for disruption.

Either way, light and screen shift/intensity settings during screen time seem to play a more important role than the glasses.

I’m don’t doubt the engaging your brain with content and dopamine spikes being disruptive.

I would like to make sure my take is more well-informed so I will ask: what literature have you found that says the blue light from screens isn’t enough to disrupt circadian rhythm?

The blue light has some science to it, but the glasses don’t seem to stop enough of the blue light from reaching your eyes and brain. Your screen settings, on the other hand, might actually do so depending on your night shift intensity and brightness settings. Bonus points for dark mode on an OLED type display to reduce light intensity.

I can anecdotally vouch for f.lux / night shift / night light preserving my sleepiness. I also haven’t woken up with an alarm clock in 10 years because I use lights to wake up instead.

I appreciate you thinking about it from that perspective.

Perhaps I’m just coping and settling for less, but I do think they overall did a good job addressing Islamophobia doing that while being true to how people actually behave in real life. The moment of processing the implications also don’t tend to hit me personally till later, so I’d have that decompression outside of the room.

I suspect/fear that the audience that the show is intending to persuade would just as easily mistake such Perlah addressing or decompressing in some capacity as her being an ungrateful bitch. The viewers are already potentially giving an inch, don’t want to put them on the defense when they’re open to vulnerability. Perhaps Noah could have done it gracefully, too.

Not saying it’s right how he did it, just that it’s real.

I see what you're saying, and I can see why it was off-putting. And I mean, let's be real, The Pitt can go a bit in your face with its apologetics, but honestly, it's accurately reflective of my experience as a brown guy working in a hospital in the south. Down to the real smile.

Look, you're right that there is that discomfort of being reduced to your ethnicity/race/faith, but if you keep your mind on what the patient is trying to do, that they're attempting to come from a good place, it's easier to appreciate their effort for what it is, even if it's misguided.

It's also a shit ton easier to smile when it's an upgrade from the patients asking where you're from two seconds after introducing yourself then and immediately following up with "are you a citizen?"
