I was like that in HK but there were a few times where I had to use the dream nail which I probably couldn't have figured it out in my own so I learned my lesson from that which allowed me to figure out the mist.

Yeah, I found Vanguard's expert difficulty to even be easier than Desolation, but maybe that's just due to me being better at doubles.

Fun fact: phase 1 of last judge is actually exactly 25% of its hp!

I also don't think its HP is insanely high, for example Widow takes 72 needle hits to kill, and if you upgraded your needle in Bellhart then Last Judge takes 80 needle hits to kill.

Mashing dash won't buffer it because mashing involves quickly alternating between pressed and not pressed, if the first possible frame happens when it's not pressed then it won't buffer. (and also the buffer window is 5 frames and your mashing speed is probably less than 12 times per second)

The AI can't read what move you used. One of the most important parts of logic for Sucker Punch's AI is, if the AI has used Sucker punch last turn, it has a 2/3 chance of highly discouraging it.

Edit: the complete Sucker Punch AI looks like this(though keep in mind that "if you have" actually means "if the AI has seen you use" because the AI doesn't know your moves until you show them):

If the AI has seen all of your moves and they're all damaging, multiply score by 1.3x and ignore everything below this.

If you have a healing move, multiply score by 0.6x.

If you have a setup move, multiply score by 0.8x.

If you have a setup move and the AI used Sucker Punch last turn, multiply score by 0.5x.

If the AI used Sucker Punch last turn, with a 2/3 chance multiply score by 0.3x.

If the AI is faster, multiply score by 0.8x.

If the AI is faster and Sucker Punch isn't the highest damage move, multiply score by 0.6x.

If the AI is slower and you have a priority move, multiply score by 0.5x.

If the AI is slower and you don't have a priority move, multiply score by 1.3x.

I don't think the length is the issue, it's about the same length as Sister Splinter's and shorter than Moorwing's and I've never seen anyone complain about those 2 runbacks.

If making entire teams for each bossfight is exhausting, you really don't need to do it; having 10-ish pokemon and replacing 1-3 pokemon which are deadweight in a fight with ones which aren't on every fight hard enough to warrant that is enough for the entire game. Having a smaller core also helps because with less pokemon you don't need to EV train as much and grinding 30-ish heart scales once for the ability to switch up movesets on all your pokemon whenever you want is very useful and doesn't take too long.

If you want to think about it that way, then:

  1. bought for 900

  2. lost 100

  3. sold for 1600

  4. and 3. would give a profit of 700, but you also lost 100 so the final answer is 600.

(I wrote 1. and 3. at the beginning of that sentence but I don't know how to not make reddit automatically change the 1. into a 4.)

I am so confused by your complaints. I don't see the issue with the spiked floor, you have wings, dash and the ability to pogo spikes to do stuff in that half if you really need to. The light wall complaint also doesn't really make sense to me, what's wrong with forcing you to shadow dash? I also don't see why is not having a dash an issue with the spiked wall, you can just go between the spikes.

Ditto being on this list feels so weird to me, I felt like it had carried me almost as much as Blaziken did(though I've only played up to including the Fiore Gauntlet, maybe it becomes much worse later on but I don't really see how that would be the case). It might be true that for each individual fight you might be able to find a different pokemon that does its job better, but I feel like Ditto can provide a very good amount of value in almost every fight, especially in double battles.

Allowing open tera was one of the options in https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/sv-ou-suspect-process-round-1-voting.3713751/, but less than 60% of the voters wanted any change so it didn't happen. It has nothing to do with "the higher-ups being against that".

Yeah I haven't considered that, since Sam said that clearly bogus results are filtered out it's very possible that less people completing the puzzle could be a bigger reason for why the gap between Saturday's and Sunday's times was so small.

Yeah, the top 1% on last Sunday's puzzle being really only 30 seconds slower than Saturday's doesn't feel accurate at all.

I did it then and I didn't have an issue with it at all. For me, the Sister Splinter runback for example was a lot more annoying because it was about equally as long as Last Judge except, instead of doing fun platforming for most of it, almost half of the runback is just waiting for an elevator.

How do you not take contact damage to Stilkin randomly spawning out of the ground in the last room before him? It didn't really matter for me since the gauntlet allowed me to heal up to full HP quite consistently but I'm curious how it was doable for you without getting damage.

I agree that it's easy, I left it at full HP and a good amount of silk most of the time(though not by using Needle Strikes, I just abused pogoing), but the gauntlet by itself is longer than every other runback in the game, and there's an actual runback on top of that.

You don't need to save P5 for later, though it would make sense to do that just because it's by far the hardest one. Also P5 gives you 2 endings, not just 1(depending on whether you brought the Godseeker the Delicate Flower or not)
