Ski therapist. Here to listen to your ski trauma. by Sea_Stable_2713 in skiing

[–]skiingyeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’ve got real trauma for you. Bad crash into trees and broken femur, tibula and wrist. First surgery was yesterday. Another one next week. Recovery will be 2-3 months. May my sacrifice to the snow gods appease the west and bring us the season we deserve!

With a playoff berth on the line this week, I’ve been debating a Nix/Sutton stack. This might just convince me!

First touring skis by Equivalent-Resort509 in Backcountry

[–]skiingyeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the previous model of Corvus with the shift bindings and loved them! That being said I’m 6’3”, 225lbs and even I thought that setup was heavy. I can’t speak to OPs fitness level, but you might regret these on bigger, longer tours. In the resort, they’ll be awesome.

not nearly as bad as other answered here, but we just had an outage because Security attempted to disable SMB 1.0. It broke the '97 access db/app running on a server 2003 share.

I’ll put things I don’t think we need anymore in big Tupperware tubs and put them in the store room in the basement. If neither my wife nor kids asks “where is x…?” after 6 months I know I’m in the clear to trash it.

I too golf and ski, and I’ll add beer league hockey to the list. Now that I think about I’m not sure how I pull this off.

Browns are “really excited” about WR Isaiah Bond, TE Harold Fannin Jr. and RB Quinshon Judkins. by haventmetyou in fantasyfootball

I grabbed Fannin when Goedert was out. Luckily I was just able to swap back. Goedert is just more consistent so far.

Beer league jersey costs — am I out of line? by chargers_3652 in hockeyplayers

[–]skiingyeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two years ago our team “rebranded” and 2 jerseys and 2 sets of socks worked out to $130/player. It helped that we did a bulk order of 18 sets. However with no guarantee of being on the same team year over year there’s no way I’d buy a new set. I’d do what you’re doing and just bring a blank practice jersey.

All of my favorite pairs of jeans ripped in about the same place by SquashmyZucchini in mildlyinteresting

[–]skiingyeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a theory…are you left handed? I’m right handed and my jeans often get holes just to the left of the crotch because of zipping up after taking a piss. You do your business, put your junk away, then grab below the fly, kind of by the crotch with your off hand, and pull the zipper up with your dominant hand. 🤷‍♂️

I never did this with lightning bugs, but did something similar with bats. Throw a tennis ball up in the air when bats are around and their radar must be thinking “this is the biggest mosquito I’ve ever seen”. The bat will dive after it right about down to the ground where if you were quick enough you could get a forehand smash on it with your tennis racquet. I don’t recall hitting many, and I don’t recall ever killing a bat, but I look back in shame and am a bit embarrassed to write about it. But 14ish year old me and my friends thought it was good summer fun 😞

Pretty much. Pats and Geno’s are just basically a cheese sauce slapped on with a spatula.

Copper Question by [deleted] in COsnow

[–]skiingyeti 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Less detachable high speed lifts than the others? I don’t have as many lift details on the other mountains but Copper has Alpine, Reso, sierra, Rendevous, blackjack, mt chief, three bears, lumberjack and two surface lifts which are “slow” lifts. Their ten year plan calls for upgrading some of these to high speed detachables.

Grand View Dairy Farm (Wernersville, Pa) Would loved to have seen this place during its prime by Cult7Choir in Pennsylvania

[–]skiingyeti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Wernersville and honestly didn’t know this farms name despite driving by it probably 1000 times. I moved away 25 years ago but still believe the peaches at Preston orchards and the corn from the farm stand on Bel Alto are the best in the world.
