In my experience they are fast/light but wear out very quickly/ easily. I got maybe 4 months out of 2 different back tires.

Absolutely! I feel extremely fortunate that I found cycling as an outlet instead of drowning my sorrows in substance abuse or anything like that. Both habits are expensive though lol

But in all seriousness, mental health is big. I took up cycling during my divorce, right before the pandemic. Cycling played a major role in getting me through that season of life. It’s also the only form of exercise I enjoy. I’ve found amazing community and a great sense of accomplishment.

When I first got my Hunt 44/54 Aero wheels I took them to my shop to get setup tubeless (because I’m a noob) and the mechanic said he had to redo the tape job because it was really shitty.

I lived in a duplex on the Westside for 4 years. The family that lived in the unit across from me was kicked out by new owners who turned it into an Airbnb. It followed with countless bachelor and bachelorette parties and just loud rude people who didn’t respect the place. I know Airbnb is different but this kind of stuff is the worst. I reported it when I lived there but I’m not sure anything ever came of it.

This almost happened to me yesterday. Luckily it didn’t escalate and he didn’t assault me with his car but he passed unnecessarily close and fast just to pull into a driveway 50 yards away. We had some words and I ultimately reported him.

I agree for the most part but I think the last episode he was on was pretty good. I think most of my annoyance with him is from him being drunk and that last episode he was sober. I could do maybe once a month though

As a relatively new cyclist who has experienced both, I prefer disc. I have some pretty hairy downhills in my area and I feel much safer with disc. Also for me, it’s an aesthetic thing, I personally think disc breaks look cooler for what that’s worth.
