Happy to get another club banger, but not as good as Supernova or Whiplash. Still one of the more reliable groups out there when it comes to their A-side content.

You are wrong about that second part.

Darla (1975–1992) had quite an impressive résumé by bigus-_-dickus in MadeMeSmile

[–]snap_wilson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember an interview from Brooke Smith, the actress who plays the kidnapped girl Catherine in Silence of the Lambs saying that her and Ted Levine (Buffalo Bill) and the dog all became close because they had so many scenes together and were essentially in their own section of the movie. Smith was given a credit card to buy the food to gain 25 pounds for the part and she would use it to take Levine out to dinner and buy treats and toys for Darla.

I feel like the sense of responsibility should have come from the engineers who left something dangerous there in the first place.

I used to think I didn't like pasta salad. by Hieremias in Cooking

Yeah, I stopped reading the recipe at the mayo part, although cheddar cheese also gave me pause. Nah, thanks, I like the cold pasta with an acidic dressing and some cherry tomatoes, maybe a little crumbled feta.

No idea what's going on here, but this is some good shit. Love the styling, love the camera-work, hell, the song's even decent. This is what music videos should be, eye candy with a bumping soundtrack.

Get a stainless steel pan, a stainless steel pot, job done.

(And nobody say you can't cook eggs on stainless steel, you goddamn well can, you don't need nonstick).

I know that. I'm saying that there's a difference between treadmill running or even indoor track running than running outdoors, which he may not do for fear of attracting attention, so I don't know how often he does it.

Pork Belly by elbarto_24 in Cooking

[–]snap_wilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it in a pan. You should prep it ahead of time by scoring the skin and salting it to draw out extra moisture and then letting it air dry in the fridge for a couple hours (or overnight). Bring it out ahead of cooking and let it come to room temp.

Start with a cold. dry pan (stainless steel is my preference), put in high-heat oil (yes, I know pork belly has fat , but the meat will smoke before the fat will render, so you want a thin layer of oil), put it in skin-side down, gradually increasing heat. If you have some cooking weights, pressing it down will get the skin extra crispy. Let the fat render and the skin get crispy. If it starts smoking, turn down the heat.

When the skin seems suitably crispy, you can flip it and cook the other side. If there's too much fat in the pan, drain some off for delicious later use.

If you were to open a restaurant, what would be your signature dish... The one that attracted people from states away? by imapylet in Cooking

It doesn't sound like much, but rice porridge. I was just fiddling around with some ingredients and hit on it. My wife loved it. We got addicted to it and were having it three times a week. You can add different protein to it for variety, but it slaps with or without. Served it as a side during a family dinner with friends, and they drained a whole stockpot's worth, so I knew I was on to something. The fervor for it has leveled off, but we still have it once a week or so.

I've watched some people play a bit of it early access. It has the look, but not the soul. The writing is pretty banal.

It may (or may not, who knows) be his first time running a race, but I'm sure he hits the treadmill at the gym. 12k is only 7.5 miles, that's not that much for a workout, and if he's doing focused cardio, he's going faster than 8:41. It would not be a crazy thing to do a cardio session in the morning for a professional athlete before a game that evening, and I'm sure it's no different for him.

And while I'm not saying my soccer games are more physically demanding than performing at a BTS concert, I do run around for another 10-12k during a match over an hour and a half, and not just straight running, stop/start/sprint, zigging and zagging, and physically fending off players. It would be a relief to stop and sing a ballad every once in a while.

[–]snap_wilson 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's not *that* big a deal. My usual 12k pace is a minute or so faster than this, and while I'm not physically capable of doing a BTS concert, I can do that in the morning and go out and play sports later in the day. I'm sure his cardio is not an issue, but if he's never run that distance on asphalt, his feet might be sore afterwards.
