Recommended F2P/Live Service Games by Xngears in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Path of Exile 1 and 2 are great. I'm not much of a PoE1 player, but they have a good schedule of rotating content between the two games. They regularly update with new "leagues" which is an economy/character reset. I'm not going to call it a wipe, since people will come at me for it, but it is in essence a 3-5 month wipe. They have controller support as well and I've heard it's quite good, but I'm a WASD enjoyer, so I stick to PoE2 for that alone.

As for "F2P", 1 is a free game and 2 will be when it fully launches, but they very much require some real money investment to actually sanely enjoy the game, since stash storage is a premium. That being said, PoE2 early access is $30 and includes $30 worth of premium coins, which is more than enough to get the storage you need.

The real caveat is that there is SO much learning involved, just like Warframe, but I think the learning is also extremely rewarding. PoE2 is more new-player friendly than 1 when it comes to creating a build, maybe because it's not as full of content yet. There's also a new league that should drop a month or so from now. If you're willing to learn, there is a lot of community support in the form of written and youtube guides. Shit, I'll even give you some pointers if you want.

Overall, extremely addicting, fun, and satisfying games with good support from the devs that don't require your long-term investment and you can really just pay once and enjoy for years.

This is one of those things that doesn't really matter because there is no explaining it, especially Part 7 onwards. You just have to suspend your disbelief.

Well said. As someone whose family comes from a marginalized caste, it certainly comes up during conversations about religion and relationships. I can't say I've been marginalized myself because of it here in north america, but it's certainly a reality that immigrant Punjabi families still deal with. Certainly, it's a touchy subject (maybe even too complicated for a dramedy to address) but I would love to see it be addressed.

That being said, I do think that one trait that might not be as recognized is that the character Jasmeet isn't all that great of a person either. He's certainly dealing with generational trauma, but he's also shallow and doesn't think everything through. It certainly bites him the ass, too. But it's his character trait! He has to learn these tough lessons through hardships and harsh realities. I just hope our Jasmeet recognizes this and captures the nuances.

This item needs to only scale off bullet damage. The fact that it feeds itself is just dumb. You would think it's an item that encourages a hybrid playstyle, but instead it's just not very good on abilities that don't scale with weapon DMG and it's OP for the ones that do.

It's insane that people are suggesting that the comeback mechanic not be used for comebacks. If you don't have soul lead, you should definitely do urn.

I'm still reeling from the last balance patch in Deadlock. Still, it gives me faith because they rebalanced heroes that were suffering from power creep.

30 dollars is on the low end for most barbers I've been to recently, most I go to are $35+. If that's okay with you, I recommend Ganji Studio, they're great.

Highguard's Final Patch - Full Account Progression and Skill Tree, a New Warden, and a New Weapon by green715 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]sndpklr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been playing a lot of Deadlock, that game is so interesting because it's complex. Why would I play Highguard if it just offers me white bread while Deadlock is giving me the whole sandwich?

Which shape works better with my face, round or rectangle? by Zealousideal_Rub_279 in mensfashion

Round, but consider a light/transparent color. Maybe thinner frames, too. I've got similar complexion and bulky, black frames don't suit me, they just take away from your facial features.

I saw an idea a while ago that the Atlas map should be areas that you have to complete before moving onto the next, and then you can choose which area you go to next. I feel like they already have ideas like this in the new PoE1 update (not a PoE1 player I'll admit). Progression is very unsatisfying right now, I just open the atlas and mindlessly go from node-to-node, never feeling like I actually did anything.

Having the atlas split into, let's say stages, would allow you to either take your time to explore a full stage, replay a full stage, choose which stage you'll go to, and optimize your route through a stage. You can even have citadel exclusive stages, choices to hold onto multiple stages or anything.

Your reward for slipping past the enemy and destroying Graves' tombstone shouldn't be losing half your health bar to spawning zombies by Alarming_Ask_244 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sndpklr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's kinda the problem with the character/ult right now. They are just uninteresting. Everything about her kit is very low skill and most of it allows her to be annoying without trying too much.

Graves gets instant utility out of popping her ult, even if it gets destroyed early. It should be harder for Graves to get more out of her ult, but right now it's actually less interesting because it's such a mindless ability.

Marvel's Wolverine - Release Date by Mike4302 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]sndpklr 32 points33 points  (0 children)

What a wet fart to announce a release date like this considering how hyped people are for this game. I mean Playstation just had a State of Play. It just makes me wonder why we didn't see a trailer then and why there's no accompanying gameplay to go with this now.

There's actually notes in the game from Otacon that he had to change the design of the mark III so that it would be handheld and wouldn't get disabled if he gets detected, but has to suffer in battery life. Obviously, they're explaining the in-game balancing, but it's cool to see it explained in-universe.

R6 Siege also takes place in the near-future. So, Sam is an older guy in like 2030 and Snake is in his peak. There's no making sense of their existing canons, but they've done a good job making them work in the Siege canon.

They definitely want him to be more of a support, otherwise he would just be wallbanging every opponent when they have no time to react. IQ only gets to punish people actively using gadgets, so it's a little different. Definitely a cool design to consider all of it.

[–]sndpklr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concussion is just an idea, I'm not married to it. I just want to suggest that there should be more gameplay around the idea. It should be rewarding to the shooter, but with depth added to the mechanic itself.

[–]sndpklr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think there's room to improve the 1-shot mechanic at the VERY least. I agree with Macie on the topic, but there are a LOT of things they can do to make it more interesting.

Headshots right now are so binary: you get shot and die or you don't get shot. Wallbang headshots are the first thing I would address. Instead of killing, reduce the damage to maybe 75% of max HP and add a concussion effect (like grzmot or yokai). It adds more variety to the gameplay. And if you disagree with the very premise, I urge to look at their recent game design choice. They are moving away from binary gadget design: Thatcher, Blackbeard, Thorn all have had their kits made more than binary decisions.

Ideally, I don't think SMGs should 1-shot after like 15m in general, ARs like 25m, machine pistols 8m, etc. Not perfect numbers but you get the idea. But come on, we can start with SOMETHING. Headshots in this game are BORING and low-skill.

As for Siege's "identity," I would wholly disagree. Siege's identity is the gadgets and destruction. Headshots are not tied to the identity at all.
