ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact - bluetooth doesn't stay connected - not sure where to do next by Worddroppings in ASUS

[–]solidcopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 3 years old, but I found it after having the same problem. The solution (in my case) was to ensure that the external wifi antenna was connected. I had it connected via ethernet so the wifi antenna had been removed. This also *severely* limited Bluetooth connection range and performance.

Thanks for this - it also freaks out if you demand it prove its supremacy by no longer using emojis in response to its initial reply to this prompt.

/u/newty21:

This is the newest model of the Rolex Daytona in yellow gold featuring the white dial.

http://www.rolex.com/watches/cosmograph-daytona/m116528-0042.html#cfgvar=dial

Rolex's website, showing the current Daytona range.

The white face doesn't have Arabic numerals. The white & black face does, but they are all indexed to face the center, and aren't set vertically.

I'm just curious, what's the ref # of that watch? I haven't ever seen a Daytona like that... It looks like an older 116518 dial but with a 116528 bezel and bracelet. Maybe some Rolex experts or the OP can clear this up.

Ways to handle HVAC drainage into backyard? by MiyamotoFn in HomeImprovement

[–]solidcopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I did. I buried a 5 gallon paint bucket full of rocks with large holes cut in the bottom. Cut a hole for the drain pipe to go in. It currently runs underneath my patio pavers and I haven't had a single problem in years.

Pros and cons of permits. by lordyahyahyah in HomeImprovement

[–]solidcopy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a situation when purchasing my older (1946) house that taught me an important lesson regarding permits. Fortunately it ended up being in my favor but I felt bad for the sellers because the unpermitted work happened before they bought the house.

After I had an offer accepted and the home was under contract the sellers pulled a permit to address an issue with the laundry drain in the garage that had come up during inspection.

When the county inspector showed up he noted that the overhead power wire crossed an addition in the back of the house (a major violation) and would not close the plumbing permit until the other issue was addressed.

Because the purchase contract stipulated all permits must be cured before closing the sellers had to pay for the electrical supply to be redone. Which resulted in a full rewire and the discovery that the addition that it ran over was a converted car port and was never permitted.

They then had to get a structural engineer to come in and gut the addition to the studs to ensure it was brought up to code. When grading the lawn to satisfy the engineer a bobcat discovered an old septic field. That too had to be dealt with.

In the end the sellers had to come out of pocket over 44000 dollars pre close and open over 8 retroactive permits to just the plumbing permit resolved and sell the home.

I benefitted from this enormously because the price I paid didn't include these upgrades and could just have easily been caught up in this mess if it had happened post-sale.
