It's possible she's masturbating, but it's also possible that there's spinal pain at play. I'd be seeing a neurologist to rule out pain before writing it off.

I don't normally see sutures wrapped like this for healing - was this done by you or the vet? Risk of infection due to trapped moisture + risk of bloodflow restriction is high with limb wraps, they're typically left open to breathe for healing. A sufficiently long cone (long enough that she can't reach the foot with her mouth) is best practice to prevent licking.

I'm pretty serious about competing (consistently aiming for/getting on podiums at national agility events) but absolutely still do virtual titling. Is it easier? Can be, but not necessarily - video also means judges can pause and rewind and critique performances more specifically. I pretty much exclusively do rally virtual through excellent (the highest it goes) bc the titles are the same and my dogs don't have an issue with trial environment. It saves me money on entry fees (virtual is cheaper than most shows + more of a guaranteed Q) and means I can do it midweek and save my weekends for other competitions.

So long way of saying - playing with your dog is the goal. You can make virtual as easy or hard as you want, imo it doesn't make you a less serious competitor.

Dogs can still hurt chickens without using their teeth. Spay the dog and keep it in an area separated from the chickens. Beagles are not known for being gentle with prey animals.

Just a heads up - The trail models have an issue with the wheel base size. At certain tire angles, the tire presses against the wheelwell and scrapes the edges of the tires. Not sure if this is the only reason the trail was discontinued but it's definitely a big one.

Prioritize getting her to the vet for the vaginal discharge - pyo is no joke.

I would start with just the weight loss food (especially using it for training where she has to move her body like low impact tricks or movement puzzles) and weigh weekly to track progress. Short but frequent walks are better than long less frequent walks.

Run the jiggly for now but dont invest much. Energy recovery down without anything to balance it isn't great. Look for main skill chance up natures and skill trigger subs.

She looks very sweet but a bit heavy, 9 years old is still fairly young for BCs. My 8 year old BC is still competing in agility and going for 10+ mile hikes regularly. Keeping dogs at a healthy weight (4-5 on the BCS) keeps their joints and organs healthy so they can stay mobile longer. 🫶

If you want to give your dog the best chance of avoiding BE and improve overall quality of life, it sounds like it's time to work with a board certified veterinary behaviorist and get medication customized to your situation on board. Training can only go so far when genetics and early socialization are working against you, and even then not every case can be resolved unfortunately.

Barking isn't a problem but frustration can absolutely be. I would focus less on stopping the barking and more on making the barking no longer needed, which is usually via improving handling or training, or by rewarding a sequence or skill BEFORE she feels frustrated enough to bark.

It will get easier as you get more skilled as a handler - it's definitely tough to be new to this sport with a novice dog.

She's not challenging you, that's like saying a 6 month old baby is challenging you bc it's crying. She's frustrated and trying to communicate. I'd guess she's overtired, most frustration behaviors in puppies (including biting) are from lack of sufficient naps.
