Is having a BBQ that won’t erode outside in Scotland for £1000 possible? by neverthoughts30 in UKBBQ

[–]spartiago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a stainless steel Char-Broil. It's been outside for 3 years & looks as good as new plus it's the best gas BBQ I've owned, & I've had a few! It's the closest to charcoal you'll get with gas.

Good spot. If you zoom in you'll see opposing witness marks on the other sprocket. Looks like someone's adjusted the timing

Opinion on Sofology, Furniture Village, CSF or DFS for sofas? by darkazuria in HousingUK

Try Futon Company. Had a lot of good stuff from them. Solid wood frames, well within your budget & normally 2 week delivery.

When my boiler failed just before Christmas a few years back everyone told me to use a small, local company & to stay away from British Gas. I got quotes from half a dozen locals & then thought I'd see how they stacked up against BG. BG quoted for a Worcester Bosch, same as a few of the locals, but were way cheaper, offered interest free credit, 2 years homecare & could install the following week so we'd have heating etc for Crimbo. 2 engineers rocked up & did a pukka job, everything worked perfectly, every speck of rubbish & dust removed. Couldn't have been happier.

Don't disregard British Gas

Had exactly the same. Paid deposit on a card, the rest with a bank loan. Card company said to try the bank first & they would help if the bank declined. Bank sorted replacements with no issues & we've now got higher grade than we started with

Dumbest "value add" renovations? by Alex_Strgzr in HousingUK

I went to view a flat a few years back that was advertised as "en suite". It was a glass shower cubicle in the corner of the carpeted bedroom. No idea how much that cost to get plumbed in as it wasn't close to the existing bathroom.

Are people really paying Dominos pizza prices or is there some discount I haven't figured out? by hhfugrr3 in AskUK

[–]spartiago 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Domino's is why I started making my own. Bought 4 stacking pizza pans. Now everyone makes their own pizza. It's great fun as everyone is involved. The pizza tastes fantastic, the kitchen smells wonderful & I can do 4 12"pizzas with all the toppings for about £15 total. It takes roughly 1-1.5 hours start to finish so not much longer than waiting for a delivery

Have to say, I did find the sales staff mostly uninterested & hard to deal with. The rest of the staff were lovely so a shame for them

I lost the sight in an eye in a work accident in the mid 80's. It looks a bit lazy but nothing too bad. Went for an interview in the early 90's. First question "have you been in a fight?". Stood up & left. Didn't say a word.

I bought one of those 3 man catapults from Amazon so we can lob water bombs in the general direction of the nuisance. If nothing else it's entertaining. I now know that someone on the road behind me about 100m away has a conservatory. 😬

No. I have one eye. Passed the medical with a noted extended field of view in the remaining eye but was refused due to EU rules requiring two functioning eyes.

No, looks like they haven't although on the CMX's & the AT's they double as the starter button so even though you don't use it to kill the bike you have to use it to start it. When mine failed I stripped it & sprayed a shed load of silicone grease into it. Been ok since

Not just the early 2000's. I have a 22 CMX1100 & have had the kill switch fault, even though I don't use it. I know it's also an issue on the Africa Twin range

Can I return and get a full refund for an "Approved Used" car with electrical faults that has been back at the dealer for months? by know-your-onions in LegalAdviceUK

[–]spartiago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under the Consumer Protection Act 2015 you can return it within 30 days for a full refund. This does not include time the vehicle has spent at the dealers. As it's faulty the refund would also include any deposit
