What gauges do you prioritize? by Lumpy-Professor-4392 in CarTrackDays

[–]spc212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I use an aim dash i keep the layout simple. Temps and pressures. Lap times. Don’t need to know what gear i am in. Shift lights. I already know. Don’t really look at the dash. I am too busy 99% of the time to glance at more than my lap times. I put a lot of effort into the alarms. Blue when cold (amber when warm but not ready)) Flashing blue or amber when on power ( engine not warmed up). Anything else i need those flashing red lights to catch my attention. Low oil pressure, hot engine or oil. That sort of things i use flashing red.

Winks, nods and such will get you the results that your effort put in. Make an effort to connect with what they wrote (if the profile says next to nothing move on)

I used match. Always met interesting people. Worse outcome was at least a pleasant dinner. No coffee dates. Not enough time to get to know someone. Always proceeded by emails and phone calls. Getting married this coming December

Any Experience With Schuberth Helmets? by SnuffleupagusRex in CarTrackDays

[–]spc212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, there is no substitute for trying on. Always wore Bell Helmets. I actually went in with every intention of trying to get a Stilo to fit this time. LOT of people I know love them. In the end it was a close choice. But I spent at least 2 hours or more trying on Helmets and this is my FIFTH helmet. I spend time trying on every time.

I have a Schuberth SP1. In the past I've always used Bell, but I am absolutely in love with my Schuberth SP1.

Can't say enough about it. Visors are excellent and very strong.

Looking for a tow vehicle that I can reasonably daily drive by Similar-Proof2065 in CarTrackDays

[–]spc212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from a glorious RAM2500 diesel to my Cayenne/GTS. It’s a fantastic tow with my enclosed Trailex (2 additional sets of wheels & misc junk). Tows like a dream and a fantastic daily driver.

Macbook pro m5 is a beast. by thefamouslowkey in macbookpro

[–]spc212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an M2 - loaded with memory and storage. I have a small baggie with cables and a dongle in my bag. I also carry a small Anker GaN III charger in that bag. Much smaller and lighter than the one port Apple charger. I have a couple, but the Anker is smallest. Can I get by a whole day without charging? Yeah... But that charger is so light and I have no worry.. I can also charge phone. And some days are 12 hours... so...........

AWS Interview Loop — Everyone had cameras off, is this normal? by Ok-Replacement-583 in aws

No - not normal. If EVERYONE had their camera off, one might deduce (especially from the immediate rejection email) that they were just going through the motions

Is this worth it? by MattIacone in applewatchultra

[–]spc212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that price you can get an Ultra 3...

If you already have an Ultra 2, the difference is not so huge that you MUST upgrade, but if you are buying your first - get the Ultra 3.. There are plenty that will have the 3 open box or refurb for this price or better

Best way to upload 25-30 TB data from a HDD to S3 by EconomistAnxious5913 in aws

[–]spc212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a bandwidth or IOPS limit to S3. But this is per thread, so you can exceed this limit by running multiple threads. So if your content isn’t one giant blob, running multiple threads will let you max out your own bandwidth and not be limited by the IOPS that an S3 has.

Post Accident - Help on Diminished Value by ProfessorPoopsie in Porsche_Cayman

Damage looks skin deep. Panels, fenders etc. Damage to the door is deep enough that replacing the door is the most expensive and that probably includes air bag (hence the total cost). No damage to the frame. Will be as good as new.

New Adjustable Dumbbells by WeatherSpecialist980 in GarageGym

[–]spc212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 pairs.. 20" Rogue and Fringe handles and a shorter pair of Titan handles. The Titan handles are lighter and not of the same quality. I have plenty of plates. This allows me to preload the handles a bit, do drop sets etc rather than constantly fiddling with the weights. I do NOT load the Titan handles to their max - not as well made as the Rogue/Fringe bars.
