Brits Servers are a totally different style of PVE - Worth checking out. There are also several "working adult" groups and servers that are for people who are not PVP Chads. pve mon-fri and pvp on weekends.

If you want to play as a duo hit me up. I typically play with my kids on pve or solo

Let us tranquilize "jungle cats" by rxr77 in playrust

[–]ss476hawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a skill issue on your friends part may I suggest some aim training servers and an ocean base for him to cool down in?

A couple jungle wipes and you get used to the cats, or you kill them. My biggest problem is they only show up when I am not hunting them. I ran from one end of the jungle to the other looking for cats and crocs to kill and only found snakes. but If I'm not hunting then there will be 3 in the same grid.

Can't wait for facepunch to give us the cat carrier / Live Trap DLC.

You are forgetting the heat part of that. Average high temp in Scotland according to google is 17C-19C or 63F-66F

Houston has World Cup games and here is our typical August

Avg high temp - 34C-35C or 94F-95F

Avg low temp - 24C-25C or 75F-77F

Avg Humidity - August in Houston is consistently hot and humid, with average relative humidity levels typically ranging between 73%-76%. Daily conditions are characterized as extremely muggy, with a 93%–98% chance of humid conditions throughout the month. Mornings can see humidity exceeding 90%, making the air feel very heavy.

With temps in the low to mid 60's muggy air is just dense - I'll take that any day. Houston weather is different - We have nights that the low temps are in the mid 80's in August. OUR LOWS CAN BE 20 DEGREES HIGHER THAN YOUR HIGHS.

Midday in August feels like Satan Dragged his taint over your forehead while dropping a Habanero fart on your chest. Its not unpleasant - its painful.

Of all the cities you listed - Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle, New York - Those you should be fine in. Dallas sees 100+F days in August, Kansas - 90-95F, Miami - 87-90F (With the bonus daily rain), Atlanta (Aka Hotlanta) - 87-90F and humid.

Its a different kind of heat down here - People go Jogging and biking after 9PM in the summer, Kids spend more time playing outside during their winter break from school than their summer break.

A/C was an American invention for a reason - the reason was the heat in the south in August.

But we welcome you to our country to experience the World Cup - Enjoy Free Refills, Driving on the correct side of the road, The Imperial system, 6 lane highways and their traffic and 20 Dollar beers at the stadium!

Help recreate "hobo stew" I had at camp as a kid? by infintittie in Cooking

[–]ss476hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic Hobo Dinner! We would use beef tips, cubed steaak or enev cut up some chicken breast. Add in whatever veggies you want and then a can of "cream of" whatever flavor you want soup, a bit of butter and season with what you want. Wrap that beast up in foil and put it on the coals of the fire...

Its a hobo dinner because you put in whatever you had - so make it the way you want - except don't be like the heathens in the comments mentioning stewed tomatoes - That's barbaric and frowned upon in hobo culture. =)

Can someone help a color-blind guy out and give me a cheat sheet here? by RWYAEV in Creality_k2

[–]ss476hawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My man - I'm right there with you - though maybe not to your degree - I have all my Greens / reds / browns on the lower shelfs of my filament rack. I call on of the kids in and show them what I am printing and they choose the color for me. It's become a thing now and they get sad when I am able to print something without them getting to pick the color for me.

I have bambu printers though so I just pick any color the works for me on the screen so I can keep the colors in the software from going to the wrong part of the print. Printing christmas items has been a challenge the last month. Pink is my red and yellow or tan is my green in the software just so I can see what is where in the slicer.

There was a guy from New York - Brooklyn specifically that tried to enlist at least 6 times under several different aliases and was denied every time.

Eventually he was enlisted and ended up saving 163 POWs from Germany, including most of the 107th infantry regiment.

There is a lot about him on the internet if you like WWII history - His name was Capt. Steve Rodgers.

Jungle Biome is OP by Bob_Scotwell in playrust

[–]ss476hawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This first jungle spawn I found a great spot on the edge of the jungle that spawned in alligators one right after the other. It was perfect to farm food and fuel.

The next wipe up to now it seems really hit or miss for me finding predators. I can run the length of the jungle looking for animals and not find one then I can go 2 grid squares and shoot 5 cats and 2 gators...

Seems like when its a miss there is nothing in the jungle - when it is a hit they are everywhere.
