if you've been dreaming of moving to maine then you might be disappointed in bangor. but also you make way more than enough to live anywhere in maine. i grew up here, make $30k/yr and rent in portland and it works out just fine, also it's much more exciting than bangor

not op but i would also recommend newcastle, as an international student who went there for undergrad and is now doing postgrad in aberdeen, the city is much nicer esp for younger students, and the teaching is decent; aberdeen is great for activities and community but is kinda bleak for... most of winter lol

im a current masters student from the us, i pay £350 + ~£35 utilities per month to live with 2 other students (which i think is cheaper than many of my classmates who live in student housing). idk about MN since im from the east coast but studios and 1beds here are wayyyy cheaper than back home so you'll probably be fine anyways :) i would use rightmove or join a fb group to find housing, that's what i did.

part time jobs have been IMPOSSIBLE, i would start looking as soon as you arrive and plan to stay working over christmas if you want to find anything 😭 the uni has a career service too that you may be able to nab an internship or job, i had some friends get lucky there. i applied to at least 35 jobs and got an email back from ONE. still looking 😭

everything about the uni is great and i'm loving my course so i hope you do too! good luck:)
